Dave Bahr and his crew are awesome. We needed a 3 season porch tied to a wheelchair ramp. They took my initial design and improved it beyond my expectations. They kept me up to date on the schedule and the work started and ended when they said it would. Quality materials and craftsmanship. The wheelchair ramp was not trivial and Dave's team executed flawlessly. I was very impressed and we all enjoy the new porch. Thanks for a job well done!

Eric built an exquisite cedar deck with a graceful & functional wheelchair ramp in our backyard.(photos attached) The city Inspector was impressed & praised Eric's work, saying, "This is the full nine yards..this is beyond 100%" He walked around and said he knew it would be stable because he inspected the foundation as it was being built. But he hadn't seen the finished deck and said it was just beautiful and liked that the wood was of such high quality. He asked what I paid and when I told him, he said I got a really good deal. He said the wheelchair ramp would satisfy commercial code. I wasn't surprised because I have one friend that is an architect and another that is an engineer. Both expressed concern and advised me the ramp specifications had to be correct or I'd have trouble using the ramp safely. I gave them the dimensions Eric suggested and both agreed that his design was exactly what was needed. I told Eric I'd like him to replace my bedroom window with a sliding glass patio door which would open to a deck with a wheelchair to the backyard. Over the years, I've seen so many wheelchair ramps added to houses that were a real eyesore. I was willing to tolerate a large, akward structure if it meant I could get into my backyard. Eric really listened to my interests and described a deck he thought would be what I wanted. He said it would look really nice. I was surprised and delighted with the finished project. Eric is an excellent builder with an eye for design and attention to detail. The design and the joints and angles on the deck are like what i'm used to seeing in furniture, not an outdoor structure. He took the time to make sure the patio door threshold was smooth for me to use with my mobility scooter...and it is wonderful. Now I have a patio door which opens to a beautiful deck. Eric put accent lights on the deck and a ramp. The ramp to my yard looks like a graceful floating bridge like you see at a nature center. I love it. If you search the internet for "Eric Mortinson handyman" you will find a recent article where Eric is named one of America's Top Handyman and he was called a Handyman Hero.I agree 100%.

Justin (along with Scott Dunn, “Nicely Dunn Handyman Services”) provided the entire wheelchair ramp package - from design, city permit, materials, etc., and, after design completion and materials procurement, completed the ramp over two and a half days of installation work, in time for the "imposed" deadline. What was especially impressive, and critical to timing, was Justin’s pre-framing work at his home shop, allowing a head start for the actual final fabrication. Justin’s skills, work ethic and professionalism exceeded any expectations that I had. Actually, I was sad to see them both go when the job was done. This year, in 2010, I hope again to procure Justin’s services for some other work at our house. Finally, in this world where we often here of horror stories related to home contract services, abandoned jobs, etc., and this being sort of my first experience in the area, it was gratifying and refreshing to meet and interact with Justin. I definitely recommend his services!

My experience with Jim, the owner, and his crew of Chris, Cory and Mark was A+. Jim helped guide me with the solution that best fit my needs and budget. Chris, the job foreman, and his crew of Cory and Mark were outstanding and did a fantastic job. My expectations were exceeded. Jim and his crew were all professional, courteous, respectful and absolutely wonderful to work with. I would definitely hire them again! Linda Lange, Burnsville

I firstly met with Scott and we discussed the overall scope of the job, city permit needs and various concept possibilities and other aspects of the job. He explained that he was planning to bring in an associate (*Justin Monette - see submission on his role) for the wheelchair ramp portion, as this would be best done as a two person task. We three next met to finalize details of installation, design, city permit and payment. Upon completion of the design Scott obtained the city permit, and materials were also purchased. After some (critical to the timing aspect) home shop pre-framing work, Scott and Justin installed and completed the ramp over two and a half days, in time for the "imposed" deadline. All in all, it is a "functional work of art" - I couldn't be happier with it. Also, the bathroom upgrades, including a couple of "oops, I forgot this" items, were completed at the same time. Scott's skills, work ethic and professionalism exceeded any expectation that I had. Actually, I was sad to see them go when the job was done. This year, in 2010, I hope again to procure Scott's services for some other work at our house...."two thumbs up !"

We just had Joe from Rosebud Construction build our new composite deck and my husband and I couldn't be more pleased! Joe is professional, courteous, was always willing to answer my questions and get back to us in a timely manner (which is very important to us). The quality of work is amazing and the price was great! When the work was finished, I was expecting to do some clean-up, but Marc and Aunders (the team that worked on my deck) had picked up everything! I will absolutely recommend Joe and his company for anyone who is looking to replace their deck!!

Having had a wood deck for more than 20 years, which was beautiful when it was young, I knew that when I replaced that deck, I would want something that didn't need to be stained or painted each year. After learning about the variety of products, I chose Azek because it is basically plastic, and wouldn't be affected by moisture. I could find just a few companies in the area that worked with Azek: one didn't return my call, one was very expensive, and then there was Outdoor Solutions. Mike came to my house as the salesman, and later, headed up the crew that actually installed the deck. He suggested color combinations, which was good for me because I don't have a good eye for design. The work took a week, including tear down of the old deck and construction of the new deck. The old deck was hauled away, and I liked that there was never a Dumpster on my driveway. Clean-up was pretty good but not perfect: I found several little cellophane wrappers in the lawn, as well as a hammer. I also found several screws in the garden beneath the deck. There was also very little notice between telling me when work would start and when it actually started - like a few hours. These little things, however, would not get in the way of considering Outdoor Solutions for future work. Mike did not respond to either of my texts after the work was done, addressing the hammer I found in the lawn and to find out whether he wanted to pick up the final check from me or mail it to the company.

Outstanding, Outstanding, Outstanding. Those words express how pleased we are with the planning, service, and professionalism of the people we dealt with at Outdoor solutions in creating our new deck. We expressed our concerns with our existing deck to Christy and Jim and they were able to provide solutions to our issues, including providing a barrier to keep raccoons out from under our new deck. An AZEK no maintenance deck was the answer. Amy, Marshall, Mike and Cheryl were the crew that installed the deck in a day and their professionalism and detail to their work was very assuring to us. WE could not be more pleased. Thanks to all.

Called Kraig one morning and left a message on his cell phone. Withing 1 hour he returned my call and made arrangements to look at the deck that afternoon. H e arrived right on time and provided us with an estimated cost which I accepted and arranged a date to have the work done. On the appointed date (there was no particular time involved) Kraig appeared ready to work. He completed the job in good time and his final cost was less than expected I think that is rare. The only evidence of him being here is the appearance of the new boards. Completely cleaned up the work site. Very good job.

We were thoroughly impressed with Randy's approach to providing us with a bid. He arrived with a complete package/brochure which included a letter of introduction and an unsolicited list of references of work completed within our local area. Randy was very patient with us in trying to decide whether to use cedar or pressurized wood to support the deck as well as our seasonal porch. On the first day of work, a three man crew arrived with Brandon as the lead team member. The crew was very professional, knowledgeable, and quiet as they worked for the next five days. They were extremely tidy in cleaning up during and after the work product was installed. We would definitely use their services again and recommend them to others. A job very WELL DONE!

Recent Review: Steve did a wonderful job with our door. He is very detail oriented and meticulous about every aspect of his work. The original frame was not straight, so he repaired that and installed the new door in the afternoon, including the screen door and all the hardware. He was very courteous and respectful of our home.

Recent Review: Eric, a Master Craftsman, created an exquisite, high-quality outdoor living space for my home. Eric has earned an international reputation as the DaVinci of decks. The deck he built for us last summer, is an example of that reputation. Eric designed and built my deck which has become a seamless extension of my house. This was especially important since I was adding a deck with a wheelchair ramp to the front of my home. I wanted to be sure it would be a beautiful space, that's why I called Eric. He built a deck with a ramp on the back of my house two years ago. At that time I had decided to put a deck and ramp on the back so I could get the wheel chair access without chopping up the front yard with the big zigzag design I had seen used in many home ramps. The deck we have in the back (designed without a big zigzag) is so beautiful we have been receiving many compliments as house guests join us on on the deck. It was the beauty of the back deck that encouraged me to venture into the public level of a wheelchair ramp out my front door. I knew Eric could design accessibly with style. He did not disappoint! The neighbors love how the front deck and ramp look; and we do too. And of course it functions beautifully and safely. Eric follows all ADA guidelines and has an keen aesthetic eye. He builds with quality and pride. When it came time for the final inspection from the City of St Louis Park, the City Housing Inspector said this was the best home ramp in the city. I already knew that.

Recent Review: Great job! The repairs were very well done. My deck looked brand new after the power wash and the stain. They seem to extremely busy and we had some trouble at first nailing down a time for the work. But it was well worth the wait. The cost was very reasonable and the work exceptional. I would definitely recommend and use them again in the future.

Recent Review: We started with the options. The sale manager, Douglass, explained to us a few options, wood, composite, or wood and composite combination. He did not push rather patiently answered our questions. He let us take time to finalize the order. The actual building process went very smoothly. The crew came, took down the old deck and hauled away the old materials. They followed the city permit instruction to build the deck. I was very surprised to see that the permit application itself has a lot details, even with diagrams. The finished deck looks beautiful, and fits the house very well. It gave me another surprise. The deck even has an extra small handrail on the stairs. That's very handy. I asked Douglas a few more questions when the project is completed. Again he took time to listen and explains patiently. I am satisfied.
