Software Principal Engineer
The Infrastructure Solutions Group (ISG) Engineering Security Vulnerability Response Organization provides strategic direction and oversight partnering with internal ISG product team to provide our customers and sales teams timely, consistent, and complete product responses to high profile vulnerabilities.The purpose of the ISG Security Vulnerability Response team is to partner with ISG product engineering teams to insure a complete and concise process to investigate, respond and mitigate product security vulnerabilities.We are looking for subject matter experts to help drive the vision, implementation, and tactical execution of this strategic vulnerability response partnership.

What you’ll achieve
As a Principal Software Engineer in the ISG security vulnerability response team, you will work with cross-functional teams to define engineering functional plans and partner with product teams to drive the entire portfolio vulnerability response process, whereas directly influencing the revenue and margin of Dell Technologies.
You will:
- Be the vulnerability response process subject matter expert to ISG product teams.
- Be a partner in the team vision and implementation strategy and of the portfolio vulnerability response process improvements.
- Influence and guide development teams processes to design, develop and release security vulnerability updates.
- Provide technical leadership and expertise on vulnerability validation, re-production, remediations, and communicate risk and impact to engineering leaders.
- Perform and coordinate vulnerability response fire drills.
- Coordinate an around the clock VR strategy and coach/lead VR champions within our team.
- Work with the governance team to establish an ISG playbook for how we handle high profile vulnerabilities within ISG.
- Maintain a network/communication with VR champions across ISG.
- Help coach ISG teams with low VR skillsets to develop VR champions.

Essential Requirements
- 6+ years of experience as a cyber security engineering professional; or 4+ years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 2+ years’ experience; or equivalent experience across FED and DOD certifications.
- Strong background in vulnerability response and remediation (ideally on development products not IT/lab).
- Ability to quickly understand how a vulnerability is exploited and how to test if a product is vulnerable.
- Experience with vulnerability scanning tools and output (Tenable.io, Qualys, Twistlock).
- Ability to thrive in a self-directed and dynamic environment.
- Proven ability to work with global extended teams to meet goals.
- Experience with servers, storage, or networking products critical vulnerability response process and implementation thereof.
- Ability to thrive in a self-directed and dynamic environment.
- Clear communication skills, both oral and written.
- Proven ability to work with global extended teams to meet goals.
Desirable Requirements
- Enterprise product development experience in designing and implementing vulnerability response.
- Test case automation experience.
- Software development experience implementing product stacks designed for vulnerability response
- College Degree Preferred
