A sales rep came out to give an estimate. The actual work was done by two crews of 2 men each. Both crews were on time, worked well as teams, got right to work and worked until the work assigned was completed. The crews are pleasant, personable, very respectful of my property, and answered my questions patiently.
Regional did a good job installing a supplemental support beam in my crawlspace where the foundation had pulled away from the ground-floor joists. Of the three companies I contacted Regional proposed the right (IMO) solution at the best price, if only by a small margin. The problem area was a 1904 structure and Bill Shay, the Regional salesman, was very knowledgeable in those construction methods, especially thorough in his inspection, and he delivered a very prompt proposal with options. I had decided to use a competitor until I saw Bill's expertise and proposal. The installers (Leonard and Chris) were courteous and professional throughout, something I never manage after working in my own crawlspace. The Regional proposal included an engineering evaluation, which was disappointing to me. Those engineers are remote (in Seattle) and use a local field agent to collect data. Apparently, the engineers did not really understand the root problem or the 19th century construction methods (balloon framing and a stacked-stone foundation). They approved the Regional's recommended solution but made optional recommendations that were "off the mark" IMO. Still, t heir recommendations may have been fine for modern (post about 1950) structures. The work was completed yesterday but I'm a happy customer at this point.
We were one of about 12 emergencies on a very rainy day. Basement was filling up with water and skylight was leaking. They showed up quickly and stayed until all was well.
They did a wonderful job replacing our insulation in our crawl space and removing the old insulation. They have got the nicest, most personable, hard working employees I have encountered in a very long time. It's one thing when a contractor does a job and everything goes according to plan. When FinishLine encapsulated my basement, my home alarm system was damaged. Josh told me to get the system fixed and send him the bill. I did what he said, and within a few days, I was reimbursed for the repairs with no questions asked.
