This is an update to a previous rating. Nixco installed a gas line for us and we had some gas leak issues that came up. Nixco made good on their warrantee and fixed the issues with the work. They were honest and up front about the problem, and resolved it beyond what they had to do. They were very professional and apologetic. I wasn't happy that the issue came up, but was pleased with the end result. You can trust that if any issues come up with their work, Nixco will take care of them.

Don't like to criticize, but $158.00 for under an hour's work replacing metal intake pipe on toilet seems excessive. Was able to thread new gas lines to range, outdoor grill and dryer very well with top notch materials and workmanship. Had apprentice caulk the gas line to the grill, but instead of caulking pipe exit from house through brick, cauled hole in deck instead. Also had apprentice install garbge disposal when not asked. Response was that "When I see appliances, I install them". Huh? More suited to outdoor or unfinished basement work than a finished house. Tracked up new carpeting on stairs and landings and had to have carpet cleaned. Added items without consultation first and laundry tub sprayer turned out to be pull out faucet only. Cut ceiling panel to route gas line with no drop cloth and dry wal dust and flotsam and jetsam got all over closed cartons, carpeted floor and side walls. Water system installed excellently, however, and, again, materials and workmanship were very good. Unfortunately, the overall experience precludes us using him again.

We wanted to convert our wood-burning fireplaces to gas fireplaces for convenience and cleanliness. We did not have any gas service at our house so we knew the conversion would be on the expensive side and require a little additional work. We got quotes from four different companies, and Service Pros was the most reasonable and professional. They knew exactly what they were doing and said they have one guy whose job it is to install gas lines. They provided a guaranteed written quote that they stuck to despite some difficulties in job and they showed up when they said they would. They even brought out some special equipment to look at another plumbing issue we were having and did not charge us for their time/opinion on that issue. Other plumbing companies that came out for the fireplaces either did not want to do the work, did not seem very knowledgeable about installing gas lines, or provided a very high quote. We felt very comfortable with Service Pros and they did a great job on the installation. We will look to use Service Pros for other services in the future.

I called the company and someone came out the next day to give an estimate on the work. Once I agreed to the work, it took 3 days to get the appropriate equipment, but then they came out and installed it in one day. An electrician did need to come one day later to add something to my breaker box. (The hot water heater was already working.)

He came the day after my stove was delivered and installed the gas line. He checked other things, but I didn't have much else for him to do. It was going to cost over $100 to have the store connect the gas line so this worked out better.

Jim and his crew were excellent. Very professional and the value (price to quality ratio) I feel we received was great. Jim specifically did a nice job of getting to me think through what and how I wanted to do things as well as helping me to stay within my budget. Areas where worked were cleaned up and the work is very well done. All in all someone I will use again.

When I got the gas line inspected, the shut off valve was in the wrong place; Mark came back and fixed it right away and reconnected my fire place. The fire place was very difficult to drill through to install the piping but Mark kept at it until the job was complete, and he honored his original quote. I would highly recommend him for the installation of gas lines. I plan to use him to bring gas lines to a back bedroom; I know he'll do a good job at a good price.

Rick did a great job. Very thorough and did the job right the first time. The Duke Energy inspector that came out prior to hanging the meter and starting gas service was complimentary of the quality of the work and materials used.

I bought a new gas oven but it wouldn't push flush to the wall because my gas line came out of the floor too far from the wall. The line came up through a hardwood floor in my kitchen and the piping is not accessible in the basement because my ceiling down there is finished with drywall. I called four plumbers to get an estimate and many of them mentioned the strong possibility of needing to at least tear up part of my hardwood floor, and likely my ceiling in the basement. I'm not knocking them for doing that because it's better than me not knowing! But what struck me about Steve is that he seemed confident that we could "probably" come up with a solution that wouldn't involve those things. The plumber came out the day after Thanksgiving, looked at the gas line, and immediately came up with a solution that me,my husband and my father-in-law had not thought of. His solution was to cut off the pipe and turn it so the shut off valve faced a different direction, gaining us the 2 inches we needed to push the oven against the wall. No tearing up the floor or the ceiling, just a quick fix and $90 later he was done! He re-lit the pilot lights on my water heater and gas fireplace before he left. I was thrilled with the solution, the cost, and the fact that the company did something so simple and cheap when a less trustworthy company might have taken a far more expensive route.

Recent Review: I called 9 plumbers who were either too busy or non responsive and then I found Archer Plumbing. They've been outstanding since day one. Came out within a few days of my first call. They've now been out multiple times to work on my property (each fix becomes more complicated as we uncover bad repair jobs). I've met 4 different guys, each of whom is clearly a professional. My tenants are comfortable with them. Alan and Jim have been life-savers. I wish the price was lower but that's what good plumbing costs.

Recent Review: The plumber, Jim, showed up on time and was able to figure out the problem quickly. It required a lengthy, labor-intensive fix and he was in my home for over 5 hours. He was polite and courteous and explained everything he did. When he left, there was dust everywhere, but he explained that he wasn't going to spend a lot of time on cleaning to save me money and I agreed that I was okay with that. He replaced my tub/shower faucet and converted it from separate hot and cold taps to one handle controlling both. He said that the other kind aren't used very much anymore because of the potential scald hazard. Today I went to take a shower and could not get the water above lukewarm temperature. I called and received a call back within two hours. The lady I spoke with on the phone seemed completely unconcerned about my issue. She did not apologize and refused to find a time for someone to come to my home that would not require me to miss any more work. She stated that they do not work on the weekends, even though the profile here on Angie's List has Saturday and Sunday hours listed. The fact that they did the work wrong and now do not seem to care, at least not enough to work around my schedule, is really upsetting. I chose this company in part because of the weekend hours listed and the high reviews I found here. I don't understand why my experience has been so much worse than most others who have reviewed them here.

Recent Review: The Wind Bender Mechanical team did a fantastic job, from diagnosing the problem with the old AC unit, giving me my options on repair or replacement, assisting with financing for a new system, and the installation. Candy was extremely helpful, and was able to get someone out the day after I spoke to her. Bob, the service technician, was fantastic for both the diagnosis and the installation. He spent extra time on the diagnosis, making sure that all I knew all of my options. When he came back to install the new system, he made sure that everything was working properly before he left, and when he realized that a part on the new system was defective, offered to come back the next day with the new part, on a Saturday, to make sure he finished the job properly. He was professional, showed up on time all three days, and took care of the issue, working straight through and even braving the storms on Saturday to finish as quickly as possible. In addition, he detected a gas leak on my furnace, a leak that I had no idea about and could have been very costly. He turned off the gas, reported the leak to the home warranty company and to Candy, who called me on Saturday afternoon to assure me that she would get someone out on Monday to fix that problem! I am extremely impressed with Wind Bender Mechanical and will definitely use them again (I’ve already sent in the work order for them to repair the gas leak) and will recommend them to all of my friends and family.

Recent Review: Anthony is a one-man small business who specializes in honesty, excellent customer service and outstanding quality of work at a very fair price. Most recent job was not emergency, but he "worked us in" by coming late in the evening at no extra charge! He has come at night and worked in the driving rain to fix another outdoor pipe issue. Installation of new kitchen sink was in a very tight area. The old sink was undermount and cast iron. He had to get it out withoug damaging the countertop or wrecking the under cabinet. Took him forever, but he did not gouge us on the price and there wasn't a scratch on anything! He came up with a creative, cost effective solution to our need for another outdoor faucet. Could have done something very expensive and complicated, but offered the cost saving way first and it is working like a charm. To install the gas line for the backup generator, he had to coordinate with the electricians who weren't very flexible. Anthony "took up the slack" in scheduling and make it work. Again, at no extra cost. We would not use any other plumber!! Anthony is the best in our opinion.

Recent Review: I heard that Gruter was the "go-to" company for Bryant furnaces and their work for me confirmed this. Gruter expertly cleaned and adjusted my furnace for winter use. They replaced the 15 year old gas igniter as a preventive maintenance measure. I will contact Gruter again for all my HVAC needs.

What do customers in Cincinnati say about Gas Line Installation?

They originally came by on October 9th to fix a squealing shower. They were referred by my Home Warranty Service. While he was here he asked if I needed anything else so I asked for an estimate of getting a gas line installed for a gas stove. He gave me an estimated cost of $350. I called to get things scheduled for the 15th to install my gas line. They took about an hour to get the line installed. My basement is slightly finished but my furnace is not far from where my stove location is on the upstairs. They did a test drill with a small hole to make sure everything would be okay in location to the beams downstairs. After they were done he showed me the placement of the line behind the stove and what I need to take into consideration for measurements when I purchase the gas stove. He also explained the coverings and shut off valves. He then showed me how they installed the line in the basement and how it connects to the upstairs location. They were very professional and cleaned up after themselves. They tested for gas leaks prior to leaving to make sure everything was good. The overall cost was the same as the estimate and was a flat rate.
