I had to pay for the diagnostic test up front with the understanding that said amount would be applied for any work that was done. - PC Computer GuyIn late November the hard drive on my Dell desk top failed. Dell tech support advised due to its age that the pc was not cover for technical service and should be replaced. In reviewing Angie’s List for providers I found PC Guy. I called and left a message asking for a follow up. Nick called back shortly thereafter and offered to look at the pc. He said I could drop it off that evening if I desired. As his shop was only 15 minutes away I took it over. A day or two later Nick called to provide an update on the disc recovery. Initial steps were not successful but he would be doing a deeper dive while also working on other assignments. A couple of days later Nick called to advise he was able to recover the data and update various older components in the pc and add some enhancements to the software programs. I picked up the pc later that day. Once home I fired it up and, as Nick promised, it runs faster than ever. He also added a couple of search engine options ( Brave and Firefox ) that he feels are helpful in addition the Chrome and Windows. Lastly he conferenced in the next morning to further explain what he did and walk me through the enhancements
- My Computer WorksUnimpressive. I said the best way to reach me is email. So, what they do? -- they called me. Rather than try to figure out my problem, the yahoo salesman tried right away to sell me a membership for their remote service. He then quoted me about $200 per hour for one of his techs to dial in to my computer and root around. He said that whether or not they fixed the problem, I'd still be billed. He also said they were not too familiar with windows 11. They seemed more focused on making money than actually serving customers. I'd avoid these out-of-staters.It was obvious the sales guy that called me knows nothing about computers. I am surprised Angi rated them so highly

"Very well, all things considered. Had speed problems and tech went through my computer thoroughly. He fixed some things, but final assessment is that it is old and tired and needs to be replaced. "My 6 year old computer was having major issues. I called Triangle Computer Services to hire someone to repair my computer. Marc was completely honest with me and told me that my computer was outdated and it was better not to throw good money after bad. So instead of selling me a computer repair service, he did the honest and ethical thing and directed me to just go buy a new computer. After I installed my new computer, my accountant told me that I needed to destroy or erase my old hard drive before getting rid of it. I am not computer-savvy and did not know how to do this. I called Marc and he agreed to do it the same day. It was an easy task for him.
