"Overall, the work done has been great. Everyone who came to do the work at my home was polite and professional. They really did a nice job with the install. The accounting people were very helpful when I had to work with them to fix a mistake I made. However - The service from my advisor has left much to be desired the entire way through this process. I had an oil-based heating system that needed to be replaced. My initial appointment was early in the week of Thanksgiving. I was told I would have a quote by the end of the week / early the next week and that install could be done within two weeks. We discussed at that time that I would not be able to fill the oil tank again so we were on borrowed time (so I was appreciative of the quick install expectation), and that I had not yet had an energy assessment so one would be scheduled for me. I waited patiently for two weeks for the quote, and finally had to follow up. First I was told that he had no memory of the urgency of the situation. Then I was asked again if I had done the energy assessment - no one had contacted me. And then I was told that they needed to get back in the house to look at a few more things before providing the quote. By the time the appointment was scheduled for the return to look at the equipment, we were about 2/3 of the way through December. The assessment was then scheduled for the last week of December. By January 10th (more than 5 weeks later than I was initially told), we finally had a final proposal including all charges, rebates and loans I was eligible for. The scheduled install was going to start on the 16th. I had to follow up on the Mass Save loan application, because it was not received early in the week as promised. That means my loan application to the bank could not possibly be approved in time for the install, and delaying the install was not an option at that point. The solution? I could just front all of the money. It is not easy coming up with that kind of money on the spot for most people. Luckily, the work went well, and they finished in a timely manner, despite the cold temperatures. But... then I waited for word on how to apply for the rebates. And waited. And waited. When I finally followed up (yes, yet again, I had to do the chasing), I was sent partially completed paper forms to fill out and mail in for a lesser rebate amount than I was quoted. When I questioned the amount, and asked for an itemized invoice so I could apply for the rebates online instead of by mail, I was basically told "oops, we quoted you based upon 2019 rebates instead of 2020 rebates". I didn't receive the quote until 2020, so why were 2019 rates used? They have expressed no concern about the error they made, have made no apologies for the mistake, and are putting this all on Mass Save. It's not a Mass Save problem that the proposal was wrong, but I was told they'd follow up with Mass Save to see what could be done. And here we are, more than two months later, with no follow-up from Meacham yet again. And the itemized receipt I asked for? Never received. I was given a list of what services were performed, with no unit prices, making it impossible to file for even the lower rebate amount online. Everyone I have dealt with has been very nice along the way, even those that need to be chased. It's just been exhausting dealing with them, and no one seems to be concerned about the errors that have been made or providing good customer service and follow-up. I hope my experience was an exception.
