"David was great! I just bought an electric car. A couple electricians said I would probably need to install a 200 amp panel since my 100 amp panel would not be sufficient. That would have cost me 6k to 8k. David came to evaluate. After looking at my panel and realizing that my central heat, cooking stove, hot water heater, and clothes dryer were all gas, he said it wasn't necessary. He rerouted a couple things and installed a dedicated 40 amp breaker in my panel. Then he installed the charger and ran the wires and conduit. Took about 3 hours. The level two 40 amp charger works like champ. I'm very happy. David saved me a ton of money and was a pleasure to work with. show more

"Dave, the owner, was great from start to finish. He provided a detailed quote, was able to work with our tight timeline, and the work went fast and consistently, with very few breaks. The finish date was within 2 weeks of the start, which was amazing, considering our house posed various challenges, such as our exterior walls being full of blow-in insulation (making it not a simple matter to "fish" new lines through the wall spaces). Dave also found that a bathroom fan roof vent had been installed very badly, and one of his guys, a skilled carpenter, re-did the whole thing up to code. Dave worked with me on ideal placement of recessed LEDs in the kitchen; and at my request, since all the wiring was going in 'new', installed 2 new ceiling lights and an outdoor spotlight in areas that had always needed them. He and his two employees were consistently friendly and courteous, and he always took time to explain every step of every procedure &amp; code-related decision. Another thing that made me very happy, was that all 3 men were very tolerant of our 10 month old, large, badly-socialized rescue dog, who was in "watchdog" mode about "strangers". They all took time to make friends with her, and reassure her, and never made me feel bad about having a barky dog. One bedroom fixture didn't work well with the new (code required) dimmer, and even after the job was complete &amp; passed inspection (without a hitch) Dave - being a perfectionist - came back personally, several times to adjust it! Just over 3 yrs later, we contacted Dave because a new clothes washer wasn't turning on, and he came over in less than a day, solved the problem (installers had plugged it into a non-hot outlet), and wouldn't charge us anything. If Dave hadn't completely wired the house perfectly already, he would certainly be my first choice, always, for any future electrical work. I did have to give a 'B' on cost, because the estimate was $12K, and the final statement was a bit over $15K. I acknowledge that there was some unforeseen extra work (like the bathroom fan venting) and that the insulation here also made the job harder. But it was embarrassing, receiving the final statement, and being a few K short of being able to "pay in full". I'd never in my life been too short of funds to "pay in full" at the time of a billing; it was a rather traumatic feeling of shame. However, Dave was very understanding, and willing to take a post-dated check for the unpaid amount, which we were able to cover on time by borrowing from relatives. I think now, that if I'd thought to ask for a few interim update statements along the way, I would have foreseen that the job was heading about 25% over the $12K I knew we could cover, and been able to get a small home equity loan ahead of the day of reckoning. Of course, typically, one plans ahead for an upgrade like this, gets estimates, &amp; makes sure of their financing. We were very suddenly forced into the situation of having to commit to a large renovation (when we hadn't been financially prepared or planning this), by the dishonest way Hartford Insurance put us in an immediately risky situation by going back on a signed contract, retroactively cancelling our new policy, and then rushing to inform our mortgage company that we were "uninsured". So I remain grateful to Dave for understanding the position we were in, and being able to start the job within days, and finish right on time. I would recommend Intrinsic Electric unconditionally to any relative, friend or neighbor.show more
