At Saxon Weald, we place great emphasis on providing a local housing service to fit local housing needs. We take pride in putting residents at the heart of what we do and making them part of our journey to provide better homes and housing services.

We have an ambitious and aspirational vision ‘Great homes, building futures’ and a vibrant and dynamic people culture.

We are passionate about delivering a great customer experience for the 6,750 homes we own across Sussex and Hampshire and in engaging with our residents in an open and positive way, making them part of our journey to provide better homes, services and sustainable communities.

As part of our Board Succession Plan, we are looking for two people to join us as Committee Members on our Audit & Risk Committee and Asset Management & Development Committee, respectively.

Audit & Risk Committee

For this role we are looking for senior experience in finance, accounting, risk and audit (particularly internal audit) supported by a recognised accountancy qualification.

Asset Management & Development Committee

For this role we are looking for strong technical skills in strategic asset management, experience of property development and an understanding of sustainability, Zero Carbon and climate change.

It is envisaged that the successful appointees will, subject to approval, be invited to become full board members as part of the board succession process in 2023, with the Audit & Risk appointment, potentially becoming Chair of Audit & Risk.

Both roles require the ability to think strategically, absorb and challenge information and have a good appreciation of what constitutes good governance.   Equally important will be your commitment to our social purpose and values, which guide how we work and interact with our colleagues, customers and stakeholders.

Your skills and competencies will complement and add diverse perspective to our committees.

We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and sectors who can demonstrate a good understanding of our business and who have a proactive and enthusiastic approach, coupled with the time and commitment to make a full and effective contribution.

Each committee meets 4 times a year in the early evening and there are an additional two board seminar days, annually.

At Saxon Weald, diversity and inclusion are central to our values and the way we operate, and we are actively seeking to enhance the diversity of our board, committees  and organisation.
