Recent Review: Needed exterior water damage repair and received a prompt response to set up an appointment for an estimate. A request was made to quote the cost to replace all exterior wood with Hardie Board material as well as installing new gutters and downspouts.. Chris Walker came out to the house right on time. Very professional and knowledgeable, he was prepared for the rain forecast for the afternoon so that he could work through it, and he did. That was the day of the tornadoes in Forney. He showed us samples of their materials including the guttering, downspouts, and guards as well as the paint they would use. He clearly explained the detailed line item format of their quote sheet as well as their warranties and insurance coverage, etc. He promised a quote and we made the proposal appointment. He called a couple of days later to ask for a followup appointment so he could make more detailed measurements of the guttering and downspout locations, which he was on time for, and completed while two other contractors were on-site. Chris was on time for the original proposal appointment and had everything promised, in great detail. We went over it line by line, arrived at an agreement, and the quote was signed for start of work at a yet to be determined date since replacement of the roof was pending a start date. Chris was extremely helpful in working with his management and the crew leads to help us convey to the roofing company what needed to be done by whom and in what order which worked out to everyone?s advantage. Excellent communication and understanding of project management on Chris? part made it all go far smoother than it might have otherwise. The start date for the renovation slipped a few days without impact to the overall schedule and for good reason. The winds were high and spray painting was being delayed at the preceding jobsite to ours. Edwin arrived as promised on a Saturday and we walked the job, checking the job description and making sure little details were clear to us both. Chris was able to help yet again with a series of emails clarifying the type and finish of the soffit material in response to my questions that arose after the landscaper?s architectural lighting consultant had been out to finish up their plans. Chris got answers through the weekend and on Monday right at eight as promised Edwin and his crew arrived. We walked the jobsite again and discussed a few more details. His crew started work and were very responsive to requests and very helpful in explaining the details of what they were doing, what they planned to do, and what the issues with the original construction were at many times throughout the project which lasted four very long days. As surprises turned up during demolition they were again very helpful in immediately pointing things out and asking for input as to how it would be preferred to proceed. Each issue was resolved quickly, professionally, and with detailed explanations. They were clear on what changes would require material not on the job sheet and were clearly ultimately concerned with customer satisfaction. I was surprised that stating that we had no problem covering any extras and overruns as needed since the repairs took precedence was an unusual occurrence. After all, it?s called an estimate for a reason. Every person on the crew was unstintingly polite, diligent, clean in their appearance and work habits, very easy to work with, friendly, and considerate. There was no significant damage to anything in the flower beds even though they?d been told it was all to be dug out for upcoming landscaping. This concern for our property carried through every day, including painting. Phillips Painting motto is ?Workmanship Beyond Your Expectations? ? often this is merely marketing noise. Not here. Not at all. If anything it?s an understatement. Seriously. Why? Well, this house was built in the mid-late eighties and without foundation damage but it has settled a bit leaving a lot of framing just a wee bit off square and plumb. Not by much but enough to make exact replication of the exterior trim physically impossible in places. Didn?t slow them down a bit although it did run extra hours for which we were happy to pay given the results. It takes skill and experience to redesign on the fly like this and they left a number of places quite literally better than new, both in quality of workmanship as well as the look of the house. Over a thousand pictures were taken before, during, and after making this demonstrably true. They weren?t hired to do remodeling although in the end this was a good portion of what they did. When your neighbors compliment the work through the day, and most every day, something more than mere repair is taking place. No detail was overlooked and no prompting was necessary for them to add extra features that have honestly taken their work beyond ?beyond?. And that ain?t hyperbole. Having worked as an assistant carpenter for a remodeling firm, albeit a long time ago, it was easy to recognize the first class skills of every single person on the crew as well as the quality management behind them. Chris proved to be an excellent source of help and communication, and took personal concern for the job, dropping by a couple of times to make sure it was going well and if we were happy with the work. Would we use them again? In a heartbeat.

Recent Review: Short version: we're extremely happy with Turner Enterprises and we plan to hire them again to paint our trim in a few months. Although their quote was higher than their competitors', their work is superior and I'd recommend Turner Enterprises to anyone. My husband and I bought a house in February 2015. We wanted to paint the entire house to match our artwork, furniture, etc. before we moved in. We worked with an interior decorator to choose colors ? we chose eight colors in total. The house is tall and there were several tall walls requiring lots of coats of paint. The work was completed professionally and far ahead of schedule. Steve Turner was prompt, professional, and easy to work with. Likewise, his crew of painters was professional. When they were finished painting (again, days ahead of schedule), they cleaned up and left the house cleaner than it was before they began. I appreciated their flexibility ? we changed a couple of paint colors midway through the project, and we asked them to paint our closets, which wasn't part of the initial bid. They made one mistake (wrong color in one of our bathrooms) but they'd flagged it before I did and fixed it immediately.

Recent Review: Beginning construction, Ivan and Crew completely gutted the living room. Removing the water damaged interior dry wall, carpet, insulation, exterior siding, and windows (all of which were going to be replaced). At one point in the demolition process, the only thing left were the studs; and you could literally walk through the house without using a door. The entryway wall was demoed, as was the fireplace (that was structural), AC duct, and the walls separating the Kitchen, Dinning Room, and Living Room. All the old carpet was removed, and the entryway step was jack-hammered backwards into it’s new position. The old attic AC unit (30 yrs old) was pulled down from the attic and that entire half of the home was emptied. New framing was added for a relocated AC duct and Fireplace (moved to the front of the room for the open concept). Likewise, 6 new 5’x5’ windows were framed in, as well as new patio french doors. Ivan also took this time to re-frame the attic platform for the AC, and added several massive support beams to hold the weight of the new open floor-plan. Furthermore, a new Audio/Video cabinet was framed out facing the living room, and new exterior walls went up. The old exterior walls were directly nailed to the studs. Post-demo, Ivan added a layer of thick plywood (to further help soundproof the house), water membrane, and then the HardiePlank siding. This wall was built to hold against a huge storm! A cool idea that Ivan suggested during re-framing was to add electrical outlets to the soffits, providing an easy place to plug-in Christmas lights. Sound proofing was added between the walls as the interior was framed in. Ivan was proactive managing the entire project, and for portions subcontracted out (to meet time constraints) he was onsite and oversaw the work. An example of this was having an electrician come out to move an electrical box. Before finishing the interior walls, conduit pipes were run between the Audio/Video cabinet and the TV in the front (and side, by the floating shelves) to allow for new HDMI cables to be pulled through in the future. A floating hearth was added below the TV mount, floating shelves were constructed (amazing carpentry work was involved structurally and aesthetically here – we wanted the weight of a human to be supported, in the event a child climbed it without being noticed). Furthermore, time consuming craftsmanship went into the framing of the windows and floorboards. Several days were nothing but manual labor – smoothing the joints/corners by hand. The ceiling was converted from a slope pitch into a tray ceiling, making the room feel more open. Ivan took the framing of the joints into account for future placement of 11 build-in speakers for a Dolby Atmos surround sound system. This included cutting out/running cables for 4 ceiling speakers and 5 vertical wall speakers. Once all the walls were done, standard renovation took place. Ivan textured the walls and painted using several coats. A careful eye on detail was provided as Ivan surveyed the tones of the colors throughout the day – and the affect of shadows on brightness… how the colors contrasted and popped with the custom carpentry. Several different hues of paint were used as a result, and it is beautiful. This process took approximately 3 months. General hick-up occurred along the way, as should be expected in any renovation, but nothing serious. Ivan’s crew was punctual – always starting work at 9am and sometimes working late into the evening to finish the days goals. The quality of the craftsmanship was beyond our expectation, and every day was filled with new excitement as we witnessed empty studs transformed into a modern living room. Recent Review: When I bought the property, builders paint was garbage. Hired this provider to paint the whole interior but they ended up doing more than interior painting. They built an entertainment center that my wife wanted from scratch. Also built garage storage. And also converted part of my garage to an office. Everything came out amazing, Jose and his crew were absolutely God sent, did work as I asked. Only thing I would have wanted different was for the left over wood to be left being due to the fact that I need to build a bar in my newly built office

As discussed, the wall is detached from the house, masked with some silicone caulking, to make sure the house and/or wall aren't damaged by any shifting in the foundation. We had a little delay scheduling the appointment, but once the crew was here the work proceeded well.
