In this case, I was selling the house and didn't want to make a big investment. So I opted for the services above which fit my budget. - A Pane in the GlassChad Hughes was a pleasant surprise. He's originally from Chicago so he seemed to really know his way in and around a chimney. We asked him a million questions and he answered knowledgeably and honestly and gave us several options for what to do with our fireplace with pros and cons for each option. We thought his demeanor was very professional. He's a straight shooter with a confident way about him and he made us feel secure about the decisions we made with our fireplace. He agreed to come out on a Sunday evening when it was convenient for us and he stayed a good 30-45 minutes. He charged us $75 for the inspection though we felt it was more than an inspection given that he took down the plaster, cleaned and gave us recommendations and answered our many questions. We live in the Downtown area in an older home. He rode his bicycle over from a few miles away to save gas but also drives a work truck for jobs outside of the Downtown area. He's clean-cut and presents himself well. We believe he may know more than many of the other chimney services we called for help. We were recommended to him by our historic neighborhood association. We appreciate his candor, knowledge and massive help. Well worth the $75 inspection fee and we will definitely call on him in the future for our chimney maintenance needs

Mike called around 10:30am and said he was available at 8am on Sunday. Around 11am, he called again and said he had a cancellation and could do it at 1pm today. Mike arrived around 12:45pm and spent an hour and half cleaning the firebox, sweeping the chimney, inspecting everything, and trimming some branches that were hanging over the chimney. - ALL STATE ROOFINGThese guys were life savers! We were in the process of buying a bank owned property with an FHA loan. It was a requirement of the loan that we get a new roof. However, the bank was so overwhelmed with foreclosures that they just couldn't get it down. Through our Realtor we finally got the bank to use the roofer we had had out earlier in the process but the bank would pay the bill. These guys came out 48 hours after being contacted and got the whole job done in about 2 working days. They had no problems dealing with our 1959 house, either! - Mac Roofing ServicesJim Bishop and the crew with him were fabulous! They were prompt, efficient and pleasant. Jim told me what they would be doing and that he would be taking before & after pictures. They removed debris from the roof as promised and secured quite a few loose roof tiles. Jim showed me the pictures, and then emailed them to me, which showed how many loose roof tiles I had due to the wind. They also said that they would have to replace three roof tiles and that a workman would have to come another day to do that. When I asked Jim how much extra that would be, he said that they would replace up to three at no additional charge and that replacing the tiles and the additional service visit were included. I highly recommend this company, as they were prompt, professional and ethical in not trying to gouge the customer

"Tom came out to do the estimate on time and made an appointment for the following week. He called, as promised the day before the work was to be done and finalized the day of work. The next day he showed up on time again to cut the bottom 16" off my shelves and doors and put the original handles in new locations. When he left, the discarded wood was picked up and the work area was cleaned up as well. I'm very happy with the work and price, and now have a good, dependable handyman/construction company to call on the next time I need anything like this done.
