Santiago General Engineering

We needed to have a small section of driveway paved in front of our house. Santiago General Engineering did a great job! They were very efficient and professional.

Method Paving

Their quoting was pretty good. They were not the cheapest quote but I like the fact that they were upfront and honest with stuff. They scheduled the work very fast and they got it done very fast. The owner was very responsive. Everything was as described and the work was excellent. The people that work for them are pretty nice. The workforce is good.

Pimentel Paving Inc
5.0
It was excellent! They came out and made a bid. It was a little bit high but they made their bid nevertheless fair. They gave us a date when they were going to come and do the paving job. They came and they did it really well. They did it actually more than what was expected and did a great job. They did what they said they were going to do.

Nick and his team ARE a pleasure to work with. They are highly professional and curteous. The job was performed w/a detailed explaination and cleaned up after paving beautifully. We very much would refer Nick and Custom Paving. Great work, better people.

Black Diamond Paving

Black Diamond Paving's price is based on square footage and right now is offering a deal which was like $2 off a square foot. The woman who came out was great.

ALL STATE PAVING
4.0
ALL STATE PAVING IS A COMPANY THAT PROVIDES PAVING, GRADING, SLURRY SEALS AND RESURFACING, ALONG WITH FREE ESTIMATES. WE LIKED THAT THEIR ESTIMATION FOR OUR DRIVEWAY DID NOT EXCEED THE ACTUAL WORK DONE ON OUR DRIVEWAY, AND WE ARE HAPPY WITH THE WORK THEY PERFORMED.

G HEDGECOCK INC

They did exactly what they said they were going to do when they said they were going to do it. I was very pleased.

West Coast Construction

Jason and his team were punctual, professional and super cost effective. They tackled a relatively large project in just a couple of days and kept their commutes to schedule . Their work speaks for itself and I would definitely hire this team again.

Southbay Paving Inc.

We had a couple of other bids and we went back to them because they were really good, plus they were significantly less than the other quotes. They were excellent. If you are the type that needs constant reassurance that they were going to show up, they don't call to give reminders. Other than that, all is great!

Pimentel Paving Inc
5.0
Pimentel is great to work with. We had to get 24 owners to sign up and it took us 2 years to get our side in order. Pimentel stuck with us and helped as much as they could. When we were finally ready to pave Pimentel came in and did a great job. They are honest, reasonably priced, knowledgable, and professional. I strongly recommend them and would use them again. BTW: when looking for a contractor spend some time on the contractors license website. Pimentel has had the same license for decades with no complaints. Other contractors would promise anything, but when we looked at other contractor's licenses we found many aliases and many complaints. Save yourself the headaches and stick with Pimentel.

All American Paving

We had a water main burst under our driveway and had to have it fixed and patched. All American came out, gave us a bid and had an opening in their schedule as was able to do the repairs, patching and extending the driveway in one day. Great work, very professional.

APCO PAVING

They did a fine job. They came and looked it over, they told us when they would do it and it went fine. We have a long, steep driveway and they had the equipment to do it properly. They were right here on time when we had the appointment.

Freije Asphalt Paving
2.0
They had removed old cement parking strips and railroad ties from my driveway and my neighbor's driveway (which they also paved). The strips were on my grass and were not removed when the job was completed. I took my neighbor's RR ties off her grass and put them with the cement strips on my grass, so they could come and pick it all up. I called at least once a week for 8 weeks to get them to remove them and was promised MANY times that someone would come out that day, or the next, and they never did. Finally they came and removed the cement strips but not the RR ties. I had to take them to the city dump in my car (I don't even have a truck!).

Southbay Paving Inc.
5.0
The day of the paving, Mr. Irwin brought 3 huge pieces of equipment to do a very small job, RIGHT. He treated the project as though it were extremely important, as though it was his own driveway. He performed all the agreed upon work, and more. The work was done extremely precisely and neatly, in spite of some obstacles encountered. It was a pleasure to see the teamwork and expertize in action. The project was completed on time, professionally with no surprizes, no changes, no problems. NOTHING UNFORSEEN Again, in 40 years of owning residential, rental and light industrial property, Mr. Irwin and Southbay paving are the most professional contractors I have had the pleasure to work with. I only wish they did more than paving. If they ever go public...buy stock! !

They provided an excellent service. They started the day after new years and did the grading and they started the paving in April. The new driveway was over 800 ft. He was very accomodating!

It went really well. Vincent came to give a quote and came back the next day to do the work. They even came back the very next day for touch ups. They did a very nice job. They went above and beyond to make everything work. I have this company lined up for other work.

BAYSIDE PAVING
5.0
Our experience with Bayside Paving was excellent., We met with Max for the estimate and he was here the next day to work on our driveway. He did an excellent job of prepping the driveway before applying the slurry. All the weeds and debris were removed and a blower was used to remove the dust in the prep. The necessary areas were masked, cracks were patched, and the slurry was applied. Very thorough in all aspects of the job!! He did what he said he would do which is excellent. The pricing was GREAT and the driveway that was looking in pretty bad shape now looks outstanding. I highly recommend using Bayside Paving.

Southbay Paving Inc.
5.0
Our driveway had not been sealed for about 15 years, but following Southbay Paving's recommendation, two coats filled many of the cracks completely. Job was postponed a few days due to damp weather, but I was notified in advance of the delay and the job was done per quote and looks great!

They removed old walkway and hauled the broken concrete away! Installed a paving stone walkway, at the price quoted, never tried to inflate the price! An excellent company, everything went smooth from beginning to end!!!

We were unable to find pros for your Paving Services project in San Francisco, CA

However, we may have pros in another category that can help with your project.

Here are some examples of important questions to ask paving contractors if you want to end up with a product that exceeds expectations:

1. Discover Their Credentials

If a company belongs to a trade association like the Interlocking Concrete Pavement Institute, it's likely that they routinely produce excellent work. In most areas, paving companies must also be licensed, bonded, and insured, so don't be afraid to ask for copies of this information before you agree to a contract.

2. Learn About the Types of Paving Stones

If you don't have any knowledge of the types of materials that are commonly used to pave driveways, patios, and other areas outside your home, you won't know how to negotiate with paving companies. Whichever type of material you end up deciding is the best, keep in mind that stone pavers don't usually cost more than $12 - $15 per square foot; if a company wants to charge more, they might be disreputable.

3. Check Their Reputation

When you ask for an estimate, also ask for a list of customers who would refer their services. You could call around and learn more about the methods and materials that your prospective company uses, but you don't have to. Just ask and see if the company responds with former customers. Don't be scared if they refer you to check their customer reviews here on Angie's List - it will help you get a more detailed look at the company's reputation.
