  12/16/2019 Our new roof is excellent. It is a beautiful and highly functional metal roof that has ended our damaging leaks, reduced our high electric bills, added years of life to our AC system and even garners admiration from our neighbors. There is no doubt that in addition to being wonderful to work with, they run an expert company of very fine professionals. This roof was 29 years old, also known as Mount Everest due to the extreme pitch, has three levels and gave us all some not good surprises including --Completely rotted chimney that needed replacement --Chimney cap replacement --Replacing rotted trusses --Installing hundreds of hurricane straps Other surprises include the lengths they went to --Make sure the new chimney stone complemented our home's existing exterior stone work --Replaced rotted fascia with the same grain and type of cedar --Sealed the fascia to match it to the existing fascia --replaced the gutters to not only finally work (our existing ones were non functional) but also made them beautiful we did extensive background checks on city roofing and similar competing roofers. I personally looked up every relevant permit for work done by all so I could judge how many completed roof projects by contractor, follow up repairs or issues, and related. Despite this, we were still a little apprehensive because the project was so big and we knew we'd have a large crew here daily. Also, as much as we liked their salesperson (jackie) we were expecting speed bumps between what was sold and what we got. Amazing: jackie might be one of a handful of completely honest sales people. A pleasure to work with. The crew was a revelation. On time every day, from gate entry to getting up on the roof and starting work under five minutes, no cell phones, no cigarettes, very respectful of our property.   The estimator/lead repair technician (Inmer) was very professional and diligent in his work. I am especially gratefulthat (for the 2nd time) he and his associate werer able to complete the repairs without breaking any tiles. Due to rain, this recent job had to be postponed a coupe times but the office kept in touch with me and made sure that i got an early timeslot once the rain held up. I have used this company on a few occasions over the past 3-4 years and always had a great experience. I would hghly recommend them

  Anyone reading this should know I usually don't have time for reviews so I'm making a big exception here. I cannot say enough great things about City Roofing. The first thing I needed was an emergency repair after a huge rainstorm brought rain into my house. They were there immediately. The roof was old and probably the cause of on-going leaks that I needed a proper repair for. Again they were there immediately and, although they gave me a good estimate for repair I decided to do the whole roof given the age. They prepared an incredibly detailed estimate with photos of my roof from every direction, showing and explaining everything that would be done. They gave 3 options to choose from (high, medium, low) so it was easy to make a decision on the spot as to how much or little I wanted to invest in the job in terms of additional protection/features. Even the high option was very reasonable and now I have additional mitigations for my insurance. They were in contact with me every day, sat down with me on several occasions, returned my phone calls and emails very quickly, left shingle samples with me to help me submit to my HOA, filled out my HOA form with me, had the permit within a week, and were finished (beginning to end) in a week...unbelievable! I was very impressed with their knowledge of the industry (special shout out to Candy) and their attentiveness to detail. I was going to have my siding replaced after the roof repair (not the optimal order but City Roofing was much quicker than the siding company) and they even installed some siding so that the roof was properly in place for the construction to come. I only had one concern the whole time, which was not even their issue, but they took care of it for me immediately, no questions. I needed to replace my gutters as well and they facilitated the whole thing for me. Other pluses: discounts for new jobs, priority assistance after hurricanes (limited), mitigation inspection, etc. They go all out and I appreciate that. Since City Roofing replaced my roof I have had several people stop by to admire it and and ask me who did the work. Above all, City Roofing is an ethical company, which is rare these days. After dealing with my fare share of fly-by-nights it is so refreshing to be able to work with a company like City Roofing. They care about the community, not just their customers. I hope they inspire other companies to follow suit. If they so we will all be much better off for it. If it wasn't obvious, I HIGHLY recommend City Roofing

  They were the highest quote, but they were very professional and knowledgeable. He came very prepared and had a booklet of options to show. He wrote everything down and answered all of my questions. He even took the color swatches up to my brick to show what colors would look best. Even though his quote was the highest I received, I'm still torn in my decision because his presentation really good. I felt confident that his company was experienced and would do a good job

  RECOMMENDATION Wow! What an experience. We contacted Earl W. Johnston Roofing, Inc., because they were listed in Angie's List for our second estimate for roof replacement. Right from the beginning we were impressed. The Sales Representative, Al Hernandez, arrived promptly at the agreed time. He did his job of taking measurement, etc., and gave us a thoroughly prepared booklet showing the complete stages of roof replacement. While we reviewed the booklet, Al prepared a type written three page estimate of the work involved along with the total cost. He also gave us a brochure showing the tiles that could be selected for installation. This was an extremely complete and thorough presentation with no stone unturned. Even though we were extremely impressed with the presentation, we had previously agreed to obtain at least three complete estimates before making a final decision. So, we made arrangements for another company to come. The third company we called handled their review, assessment, and estimate just like the first one we had contacted. There was minimal conversation with the representative and both companies sent an e-mail the following day with their cost estimate. Even though the two estimates were above and below that of Earl W. Johnston, there were also certain clauses and conditions in their estimates that were not to our liking. (How can a company not be responsible for damages caused by their trucks?) So, we called Al Hernandez and he returned to complete the contract to have our roof replaced. Activity began on a Wednesday of week 1 with the removal of all the tiles. Additional work also took place such as replacement of damaged fascia, soffit, etc. All of this was completes in one day and the premises were immaculate when the workers left. On Wednesday of week 2 the new tiles were delivered and stacked on the roof. Friday the actual installation of the tiles began with the job being completed the following Monday. It should be noted that Al Hernandez, Sales Representative, visited the site several times to be sure everything was progressing as planned. Needless to say, we are extremely please with our contract with Earl W. Johnston Roofing, Inc., and would not hesitate to recommend this company at any time. Hats off to a great company
