    English Lane is fantastic. No-nonsense... gets done what they say they will, on time, at or under the price they quote, and the results are beautiful. I'm willing to pay for that. I had another contractor quote half, charge me in the end double (and what EL had quoted originally), and get it done months later then they claimed. The other contractor also had that they would replace trees that died within one year of planting in the contract, and then later told me "they'd rather not" and I had to chase after them for months. I switched to English Lane thereafter for maintenance and updates, and then did our backyard with English Lane. English Lane replaces trees that look like they won't make it without even asking, and made a set of flowers free that came later than expected. I can't express enough the awful experience with the other contractor, and how much I appreciated and became willing to pay for "no b*******" and "telling it as it is." Not only will I never go back to that other contractor, I will only going forward use English Lane

    Cullen is the most thorough and professional young man. He takes care of my property as if it was his own, and my yard has never looked better. He provides a better quality of service than any other company I have used. Cullen is punctual, polite, thorough and affordable. I have referred him several times, and everyone agrees that his work and his work ethics are impeccable. I highly recommend this young man--he is the BEST in the business!

    I first hired Green because I thought I was doing a favor for my child's friend. I turned out I was doing a favor for myself. Cullen did much better work and was more conscientious than any other service I've used. He is prompt and communicated well whenever there were questions or issues (like inability to show due to lightning and rain). The quality of the work done has always been excellent. Cullen also has managed to staff the business with workers who share his desire to get things done well.     I cannot say enough good things about Cullen and his business. He is hard working, conscientious, and reliable. I appreciate the design ideas he had for the front yard and the landscaping he provided is beautiful. I receive compliments all the time. He is a dedicated professional who never misses an appointment. He is a joy to work with and a very caring young person. I appreciate that he makes sure that my snow is shoveled/plowed, grass is cut, and leaves are cleaned up year round. He never misses a beat.     Adam and his team are fantastic! Whenever I am in a bind and need them to come out right away they fit me into their schedule - even if it means being out in the rain! Their work is impeccable and I always get compliments on what they have accomplished. They take all debris away and are always at my home working in a very professional manner.     To qualify my answer--We have an extremely shady lawn where it's hard to grow almost anything including grass. After speaking with numerous landscape companies and getting turned down for this project due to lack of knowledge or experience with what i was asking, Brian at Sylvan Landscape agreed to research my request and give it a shot. After much research and back and forth discussion we agreed on a plan of action. Brians solution was to test plant a section of our front lawn with moss before doing the entire yard in the hopes that with success we could turn the entire lawn into a no maintenance, green landscape. After tilling the area, and placing new soil Sylvan planted a 10ft x 10ft test plot of moss and covered it with meshing to protect from the leaves and debris that fall in the yard. I can tell you it looks great right now! Now to see how it lasts through the winter to decide if we want to do the entire lawn. Brian is friendly, responsive and easy to deal with and his company also does snow removal in the winter which we also use them for. Thanks Brian
