Lee and Manuel did a wonderful job installing a floating Azek deck in our atrium. What used to be an unusable dirt patch inside our house is now a lovely outdoor room. They we able to start soon after I contacted him and everything was on time and on budget. Couldn’t be happier.

  • Doug Hannan Construction

We had a great experience working with Doug Hannan, who is a master builder with decades of experience. He is professional, patient, polite, and very fair. He was flexible and responsive while working with our changing plans, and offered quick and clever solutions to our issues. He doesn't waste time or words. In fact, we've never seen anyone work as quickly and efficiently. Even with our changes, he still finished the project ahead of time and on budget. The results are spectacular, and we are very thankful to Doug as we enjoy our beautiful new deck and pergola

Israel worked in my home for about 6 months on a complete kitchen remodel down to the studs, including removing and moving walls, ceiling, and making a deck and closets. Israel was there every day Monday through Friday on time without fail. He worked so hard every minute. Israel is an absolute master carpenter. He even found mistakes on the architect’s plan that he fixed with the architect. He was the manager of the huge renovation and worked very well with all the co-workers and subcontractors. He consulted with me daily. Being such a huge job , it’s no surprise he uncovered other areas that needed to be fixed in our century old house, such as dry rot, which he fixed. Israel is very familiar with all aspects of a construction project, and knows how and when to put together all the pieces. He’s such a kind, hard working man, and an expert at his craft. I remain exceedingly happy with the work he did, and impressed with the person he is

  • System Pavers
    5.0
I have had the good fortune of working with System Pavers on two major projects - the paving of my driveway, walkway, and front of the house. A few years later they designed and paved an extraordinary backyard terrace and 50 foot retaining wall. The work was exceptional and beautiful. Recently I reached out to them again regarding the need to clean and seal the pavers that are now 5+ years old. Barely a day later I received a text from Adrian O'Donogue, the local project manager. He said he was in the neighborhood and could he come by. Ecstatically, I said yes and 5 minutes later he was at my house. He walked me through everything as he examined the front and back pavers. He advised on how to clean the few pavers that had stains and offered to drop off some sand for the two pavers in the back that could use it. In the end, he said everything was in great shape, no need to do a clean and seal project. He left me with his business card and told me to reach out whenever something comes up.Who does that? His advice and guidance literally saved me thousands of dollars. Not a week later, during a record heat wave, two of the drainage pipes from the terrace collapsed and rolled down a slope in pieces. I immediately reached out to Adrian. Again, he was at my house within a day. In 90 degree heat, he went down the slope, recovered the drainage pipe pieces and fixed them both. Exceptional service is an understatement. Not only does System Pavers do a great job in the first place but they are there for you, even years later. Thank you, Adrian, you are the best

What will a deck or porch project cost?

The size of your deck is typically one of the most influential factors in figuring overall costs of the job. The typical cost is $30 to $60 per square foot. That brings the total average cost of decking projects in the United States to $4,100 to $11,200.

The type of material plays an influential role in total expense, too. For deck building, common materials include composite and pressure-treated wood. Composite tends to be more expensive, even though availability of lumber influences the price of wood. Concrete is generally the cheapest material for building a patio, and patios or decks made of brick are generally the most costly.

Lifting a deck off the ground can also increase costs. Second-story decks are usually pricier to build than similar first-story porches. Consider that building a first-story deck measuring six-by-six feet costs on average $7,700 to $15,400. Installing a very similar deck on the second story may cost $9,700 to $20,500.

Numerous considerations impact the price of a porch or deck project. Reaching out to deck and porch businesses in San Francisco to get an estimate can be the best method to understand how much your potential project might cost.
