Cabinet Painting & Staining Services In Your Area

  • Lucas & Lopez Company

"I have never seen anyone work as hard as Lucas. I hired him only for window screen but he was so great I ended up hiring him for a bunch of other stuff. He works with perfection. I plan to use him for all future work."

  • NCK Paint & Drywall, Inc.

"I’ve hired NCK Paint and Drywall for several things in my home including a ceiling drywall project and a total renovation of our basement and deck. I have been so extremely happy with the work and the honesty from the owner, I won’t be going anywhere else for future needs. I trust Claudio to do what he says, and to do a great job because he has. I’ve already been recommending him to neighbors. He has a crew that is different depending on the job, but they have all done outstanding work. They have been respectful to our home and privacy, and even clean up before they leave every evening. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them. "

  • CBG Contractors

"Carlos's team was extremely professional and efficient he was very responsive arrived the day after i called took a look at the giant hole in my wall and ceiling from water damage and he said, ok i can come tomorrow and make it look like new. I cant even tell there was ever a hole there or any damage they even painted to the exact match with no difference in the old paint i highly recommend!"

  • Pinnacle Papering & Paint, Inc.

"Javier and crew were great to work with! We've been planning a wallpaper project for a while and, after finding the perfect paper, needed a team who could do the project justice. Amazing attention to detail, but still a good pace - our project was done in a 1 1/2 and couldn't be happier with how it came out!"

5.0 star review from Charles K. in Alexandria, VA

  • BEI Painting, LLC

"I had some drywall damage. I hired them without knowing anything about them. Their work was so impeccable you would never know there had been any damage. They also walked around the house and found some spots that needed repair that I hadn't even noticed. All of this was done for the agreed upon price that I felt was reasonable. They came right on time and were extraordinarily neat. I still can't get over how great my walls look! I would recommend Edwin to anyone without reservation. "

  • Humberto Lopez & Sons Construction

"Humberto was very good , arrived on time and his work habits were very good as was the quality of his work. My complaint is with HomeAdvisor. I was expecting to get a list of professional, from whom I could choose for my project. Instead, apparently, my name and address were given to many Painting Contractors and I felt uncomfortable with the many calls and men showing up at my house.. Another thing I felt I should point out is that most of the contractors seem not to appreciate the necessity of a written contract. It would seem to me that anyone I hire would be ready and able to prepare a contract covering the scope of work and other important elements. Of the people I talked to, while most stated they would sign a contract, none was prepared to write one. I would not use HomeAdvisor again unless these concerns are addressed. Thank you, Karen Kelley"

  • Kutai Enterprises

"Kutai replaced our front porch stairs that were really rickety and did a solid job. He has also done other work for us around the house and at our rental property."

4.0 star review from EM G. in Lovettsville, VA

  • Klappenberger & Son

"We needed a powder room painted and touch up of some other paint jobs. the most time consuming was painting the quarter round trim in the kitchen, front hall and other hall. Tony did careful work and the price was very reasonable. I would definitely hire them again."

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost to paint kitchen cabinets?

It costs about $1,000 to paint kitchen cabinets. This cost estimate is for a 150 to 250 square foot kitchen and includes:

  • Labor: $30 - $60 per linear foot
  • Paint: $20 - $60 per gallon
  • Supplies: $200 - $600

Painting or staining your cabinets can significantly improve the look of them but cannot fix structural or design issues. Replace them if they are damaged or poorly made.

Are there alternatives to painting my kitchen cabinets?

There are several, including:

  • Spray painting: $1,000. Costs about the same as a traditional paint job. Spray paint gun rental runs between $40 and $120 per day.
  • Refinishing: $1,600 - $3,900. Includes paints, stains, varnish, lacquer and epoxy.
  • Refacing: $4,200 - $9,500. Gives them a complete facelift without the waste or expense of a full replacement.

What are the pros and cons of painting my cabinets myself?

Pros:

  • Money saved on labor can go elsewhere.
  • It’s a relatively simple way to transform the look of your kitchen.
  • It can be fun and gratifying to work on a DIY project.

Cons:

  • Lack of experience means costly mistakes can occur.
  • It’s time consuming to remove doors, drawers and hardware.
  • Improper prep can lead to uneven paint colors, peeling paint or the need for a professional to completely redo the work.

Unless you have experience and a lot of time, it's a good idea to hire a pro. They have years of experience with projects like yours and can deliver professional results in a timely manner.

What should I look for when hiring a paint contractor?

Ask a prospective contractor about licenses and insurance, including whether or not their team members are covered by worker’s compensation insurance. Other questions to ask:

  • What type of prep should I expect before you start?
  • How long do you anticipate this project will take?
  • How many painters can I expect in my home?
  • What are the costs?
  • Does a warranty cover this work?
