I called, left a message, and heard back from Todd within a couple hours. He came out the next day for an estimate. Todd was very thorough in describing what exactly would be done. I was told time frame would be about 3 weeks. Once I accepted the bid, I got on the schedule earlier than that--the work began within the next week. The crew did a great job with prep work and cleanup, and the end product looks fantastic. They did such a good job. Todd did a thorough walk-through with me after work was done to inspect it. I was extremely happy with the entire process

Eurex Shutters
This company has missed two service calls in a row. I’ve waited for over a month to get service on a shutter that is stuck down over my front door. Bertha in the office is rude and not helpful on the phone. The last time I called, she put me on hold for over 20 minutes. After some research, I found a different company to repair my shutters. I will be using them for my shutter repair and replacement needs moving forward. Bad service, missed appointments, and a rude staff is what Ive experienced when dealing with Eurex Shutters. There are better companies out there for the money

Have used Scott's company before, with great results, so decided to try him again. I needed to have for wooden shutters re-hung onto the front of my house; the shutters were 8-15 feet off the ground. Scott responded promptly and was able to wedge in a reasonably soon time despite a busy schedule. No time-wasting or rambling on the project; he just got right to work, but still remained engaging and informative. Unlike the person who removed my shutters, Scott brought to my attention some deficiencies and recommended fixes-- original screws were barely long enough and a few anchors weren't secure. Our home windows are large and covered with plantation shutters in six rooms. Some are sliding doors, others are quite high, some fold back, some are stationary. DAD S HOMEWORK
Alan ended up leaving me in the middle of the job. He got stressed because he had too many jobs going. Got angry when I asked him to finish job soon because of impending weather, and he seems to have taken on too many other jobs at the same time. Simply stopped showing up and even left a few tools at my house. Has ghosted me - no communication despite calls and texts from me. Puts me in an incredibly bad situation because I need this done before the snow flies, or all my porch furniture is ruined. It's late October as I write this review. I have $1000 of plexiglass in my garage and no one to put it in. Really weird and unfortunate because Alan did great work for me for a year - lots of projects. We got along really well, I thought. The whole incident has really made me so sad, and angry. No idea what happened, what made him flip. Feel I've lost both a friend and a handyman. Would have rated him an "F" for this last job because he simply abandoned it, but did great work before so put it at a D. Super sad over the whole thing

Eric picked up the sink top (which was very large and heavy). It had to fit between two walls and his assistance in the initial measurements assured a perfect fit. He then resolved an issue with a shower fixture which turns out was installed incompletely years ago. Finally he installed shutters for our 2nd floor windows. Work was timed for the custom sink order and was completed in less than a day

When my hurricane shutters were installed, I was told that they could withstand a hurricane level 5. I really doubted that. On Sept 28, 2022 Hurricane Ian blew straight over my house. It was a few mph under a hurricane 5. While some of my neighbors homes were devastated, my house did not incur any inside damage. The money I spent on the shutters was money well spent. On the day after the hurricane, I asked my neighbors to check on my house. Unfortunately, since power was out, they could not get in through my garage and the shutters were locked. I called Eurex to see if they could come and open my front door shutter. I was told that if someone was in the area, he would stop by and open the shutter. Nothing was mentioned about a service fee. A month later I received a call that I owed $150 for opening the shutter. I paid reluctantly and asked for a receipt. I am still waiting a month later. The young lady said she would send it as soon as my card was "ran." Her verb not mine

Our house was built in 1961 and we are certain that the kitchen has not been changed other than paint or wallpaper since 1961. The measurements for the woodwork were uncommon by today's standards. The standard offerings at Lowe's, Menard's and Home Depot would not fit in our kitchen. Another oddity that Alan was dealing with was that the entry doors to the kitchen were both pocket doors rather than a standard hinged doors in a frame. From past experience, Alan knew of a mill work shop in Fridley that would take care of any specific sizing requests. It also had a significant variety of wood types that Alan could use to test the absorbency of the stains he was trying to match. Alan was also familiar with the paint and stain professionals in my area of the city so he was able to bring different types of wood to the stain dealers along with color samples from our home to find the best match for us. Alan's carpentry skills are very good. He was very quiet when doing the tear out. He did all the wood sawing outside or in my garage, depending on the weather. So, the only noise was the nail gun. When it came time to paint, I couldn't believe that he wasn't going to do any taping. His skill at cutting in at the ceiling and wall was impressive. I only found one tiny defect in the entire kitchen and the was due to a speck of wall paper not getting scraped off. We have used Dad's Homework previously and we were happy with the results, so we were glad he was available for us when our Sears cabinets were finally installed. Alan is meticulous in his work ethic and he takes pride in his completed efforts. I would not hesitate to recommend Dad's Homework for any handyman project might have
