The tub spout was not aligned with the original location so the tile could be put back in. They recommend I buy new tile and retile around the spout’s new location. We were attempting to replace 30 year old shower valve gaskets and the valve broke off of the base due to water deposits. This happened on a Saturday. Other plumbers in the area were unavailable, including the one I normally use. This company came out in the early evening. The technician explained the cost, I said that seems high @ $2,400 just to replace a valve. He said he had to re-plumb the new one. Depending on what guess you pick for Angie's List service (no shower valve replacement), the absolute highest price is $1,700 to replumb a house. While the work was done very well, this company gouges customers - see other reviews. The Service Manager Doug is always "in a meeting" and never returns calls (tried 4 times). This is an unethical company that preys on desperate situations, in my experience. I will never use again

Weld & Sons Plumbing
This all started with a dripping shower head. Needed to replace a couple springs and seats. However the large brass nut was stuck due because it was 13 years old. My wrenching on the nut bent the valve a bit. After replacing the springs and seats and reassembly, the valve now leaked (and was still somewhat bent / twisted). Called Weld and Sons based on Angie's List reviews. They were very courteous and professional. Sent out Kevin the following morning. He showed up EXACTLY on time. He made sound recommendations, had all the parts and fixed it in a little over an hour. We ended up having to replace the entire valve because there was danger of future leaking inside the wall. The end price was well worth it for a professional job and piece of mind

Apple Valley Plumbing Company
To start, my wife said he was courteous and when I called he was courteous to me as well. However, I thought they were very expensive to perform a shower valve and shower head replacement. Total charge was $297 and parts were only $55. My wife recalls him getting to our home around 10am and was gone before 11am. That means labor, including a trip charge, was $242. Their door to my door is 8 minutes. I feel the charge was too high based on a trip charge of 20 minutes round trip and maybe 1 hour of labor. I asked for an explanation and he told me shower valves can be tricky and they never know what they are getting into so they may take longer. He said he charged me for 2 hours. Based on this explanation I was charged for a worse case scenario. If that is the case and it ends up not being as bad or take as long they could have backed out some of the labor charges. I am disappointed in the labor charge and feel it was too high. I was charged $242 for about 1 hour and 20 minutes worth of work. He did provide an estimate before the work was performed. Unfortunately I was not at home and my wife accepted the quote. She doesn't know anything about plumbing so she just accepted it being she could not get hold of me. I would have told him not to perform the work based on that rate. So I take part blame for accepting the quote. Regardless, they were too expensive

They called back within 10 minutes (after 5:00 pm) and set up an appointment only one day out, even providing an approximate estimate over the phone since we knew exactly what needed to be done. He arrived on time, gave an accurate estimate of how long it would take, and the work was less than half the cost of the other guy. We had him provide an estimate on three other projects we need done and we will be going with Edwards Plumbing when the time is right

I think I just found my new plumber. Jake was great - punctual, friendly, competent. The drain in our shower was draining slowly, and since our house was built in the 50's it had an old-style 'drum' trap instead of the modern P trap. Before the job we were thinking that we'd have to replace the drum trap, but before doing so Jake decided to clean it out through the drain and was able to get it working like new. He told us that he could go ahead and replace the trap if we wanted, but it appeared to be in great condition and was now working as well as a new trap would. This saved us a few hours of labor cost!!! Also, he let us know that the Moen shower valve cartridge that he replaced has a lifetime warranty, and that Moen would refund the cost of the new cartridge! All in all it was an excellent experience. Thanks Jake

Once I received the warranty replacement valve from Delta, I called to see if Zell (based on Angies's ratings/reports) would be interested in installing a valve they had not supplied. Amanda said sure and set me up with an appointment for Les (owner) to come out and take care of it. Les called me back that same day, and after I explained the situation, we arranged a service call a day later. Les arrived right on time, and did a wonderful job (even with me watching!). His years as a master plumber showed as he balanced torch, pliers, solder, and cooling rags to keep the copper stubs going into pex tubing from overheating. It was nice to watch a master at work, and all the time not missing a beat while we chatted about and solved most of the world's problems. It was a great experience; or at least 10x better than you'd think a plumbing experience would be

We use them fairly often. They are like handyman, they do everything you need from plumbing to electrical to everything. The owner comes and looks at it and if he cant fix it then they find the person that can. They are our neighbors. They are expensive but worth it. They are really good. If something goes wrong and they come out the second time they will not charge you for it

Al called us well ahead of our appointment and told us he might be a little late because of the snowstorm, which is much better than those other technicians or contractors who often call you hours after your scheduled time...only to tell you the obvious...that they are running late... Everything went extremely well, considering the snowstorm...and that I incorrectly told them that I only needed a shower head replaced (rather than the entire set-up). Once we realized my mistake, Al adjusted his schedule accordingly, and was able to install a new shower valve and head without any delay. He performed quality work, and the shower set-up works and looks great. Would definitely use this company again

We pay an annual fee of $234.00 for Air Mechanical's "Home Comfort Plan," which includes a furnace inspection and tune-up in the fall and an A/C tune-up in the spring. In addition, we get some discounts off of any needed service and $50 loyalty dollars that can be used towards other Air Mechanical purchases. For example, we used loyalty dollars for purchase of a new A/C last year and for installation of basement ductwork in the past. On this particular visit, their office called to say their technician Aaron was on the way. He arrived timely, checked out the system, and completed their form to certify that the system is working properly. Everything went smoothly as it always has with Air Mechanical, a company that has serviced our A/C and furnace for the 19 years we have been in this home
