Needed a new toilet. They replaced and shimmed the toilet. It did turn out that with our old house that didn't work. The guy who came back later was very knowledgable (although they did charge again). With an old house, they did what they could.

Called and inquired about what cost it would be to replace a flange and put in a new toilet. I was given an estimate that it could take 3-4 hrs. and that they charge a service call fee then charge at 15 min. increments after that. We also purchased a new toilet through them. We went ahead and hired them. Jason came out on the day scheduled and was on time. Since there was no toilet to remove (we had the tile replaced in the bathroom a week before and the tile guy upon removing the old toilet noticed the flange was broken hence the reason for calling Weld and Son's). I called Norblom Plumbing due to some mold having appeared on my downstairs bathroom ceiling. Directly above the apparrant leak was my upstairs bathroom and toilet. Before Norblom arrived I purchased a new toilet at the local Home Depot (an American Standard rated highly by Consumer Reports). The new toilet had the comfort level seat. Paul arrived, took a look at the downstairs leak and proceeded to remove the upstairs toilet. The toilet had been loose. Paul inspected the area and felt that the leak was small and had probably come from the loose connection. Paul tightened the flange, put down a new wax ring and installed the new toilet. He proceeded to recommend replacing the downstairs ceiling, both to get a better look at the area of the leak, insuring that it was fixed and to remove the mold. The advice we received from the Zell plumber on selecting a replacement toilet was appropriate and once the new unit had arrived, an appointment was made within a few days. I had to spend a week home recuperating from surgery, so decided to look into finally getting a loose a toilet replaced. My husband was just sure that the flooring underneath was also rotten and that this would be a major project. I called Norblom on Thursday and they sent Chris our Friday morning. He pulled the old toilet, had to add a flange extension (the old toilet was not attached to the flange) installed the new toilet, and cleaned up in one hour and 40 minutes. I think at least 10 minutes could have been shaved off the time spent moving a hot water heater from one truck to another when a colleague showed up with the new toilet, but I wasn't going to quibble. Chris did the work in a very professional manner, showed me exactly what the problem was, and worked very efficiently. I would not hesitate to call this company again in the future. Price always seems higher than you think it should, but over all, I am very pleased with the results

I contacted Barr Web after cracking the tank to our toilet during a do it yourself repair. Barr Web usually only works on remodeling/major projects but since they are just a few blocks from my home said they'd help. They were able to fit me in quickly. The replacement toilet I purchased wouldn't work in the space available, so they went back to the shop and got me a toilet they had on hand. It is a high quality toilet, and they got it properly installed quickly. They were both very professional and friendly, and I the cost was fair: $150 for the installation and $175 for the toilet. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone, but since they focus on major projects not sure if I'll have the opportunity to work with them again. I did note from their website they a "prefab" basement bathroom system that I bet is pretty slick, and I've already told friends about it

The work went very well. I had a very, very old toilet which recently began to rock from side to side and front to back. I wanted to have the rocking eliminated and the toilet reset. The problem was that the toilet flange was originally set too high above the floor requiring the old toilet to be cemented in place. After many decades of use the cement failed and the toilet began a rockin'. I bought a new toilet and called Barnes to request the toilet flange be lowered and the new toilet installed. The tech, Brian, removed the old toilet and attempted to lower the flange. Unfortunately after much work, the flange broke along a hairline fracture. Brian removed the remaining flange, installed a new one, and anchored it to the floor. He set the new toilet in place and I am very pleased. The cost was very reasonable and the work was completed quickly and professionally. I recommend Barnes Plumbing to anyone

Soderlin Plumbing, Heating, & Air Conditioning
My toilet would not fully flush so I had two different sewer companies pump the line which didn't help. Then I called Soderlin. The first plumber came out and removed the toilet and cleaned out the line. Toilet would still not flush so he told me I needed a new one. He had one in the truck so I said go ahead. When he called me to look at the new installed toilet it was much smaller and left a big hole in the wallpaper. He didn't appear too interested in working on the other issues so he collected my $700+ and left. I called Soderlin and told them about the situation because the new toilet was still not flushing and they sent another plumber out who seemed much more experienced. He pulled the toilet and found that there was a wax buildup around the floor where the pipe meets the toilet or something similar to that. Once that was cleaned it worked perfectly but I still had a toilet that left a big hold in my wallpaper. So he called the company to see if they could find a larger toilet and they did for $300 more. I gave them the go ahead and he gave me an estimate for the other items. He also called another company and they came out to pump the line once more just to make sure it was all clear so by now the line had been cleared by three different companies. That cost an additional $115. When the new toilet arrived he came out again. This toilet was still too small because it was tapered so he told me I'd need to decide what I wanted to do. He could put the same one back or install the new one or I could go out and get something else. By this time I just wanted the thing done. The first toilet installed seemed very cheaply made as the seat slide all over and the second toilet seemed better quality so I had him just install that and I'd try to figure out what to do about the wallpaper. Then he went to install the laundry faucet and couldn't find the water shut off valve which happened to be behind the washer. He was up in the ceiling looking for it so I called a neighbor and he told me it should be a few inches off the floor and then we found it behind the washer. Unfortunately the plumber broke two of my ceiling tiles in the process. He said they crumbled but my daughter has turned off the outside water numerous times and never broken the tiles. The other projects he did went just fine. I really feel I am out a lot more money than I should be. I have to find someone to replace an entire wall of paper and replace my ceiling tiles. If the first plumber had done his job I wouldn't have a new toilet as I didn't need one

Fantastic! He put on shoe covers before even coming in the house. He worked quickly and very efficiently. He was very neat and didn’t leave a mess. He was even going to not charge me for a part that I hadn’t bought because I didn’t know I needed it. He did great work and made sure everything was in working order and met the requirements of the inspector. The work was done at an extremely fair price. It was approximately 1/3 of the price that Roto Rooter quoted me. I would highly recommend and would definitely call this company again

THE SERVICE TECH'S AT MR. ROOTER ARE ALWAYS AVAILABLE, DAY OR NIGHT, TO COMPLETE A SERVICE CALL. FOR THIS PARTICULAR PROJECT, I REQUESTED ALEX TO COMPLETE THE WORK. ALEX WAS ON TIME, VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE AND PROFESSIONAL. HE MADE RECOMMENDATIONS FOR A FAST FLOW TOILET THAT FIT OUR BUDGET. Jim came out to fix multiple plumbing issues in the house I just purchased. He had to change the valve in the basement before the water to the house could be turned on, and the valve had a situation going on that he'd never seen before, but he had it dealt with in no time and coordinated with the water department for me to get the water on. He had make several trips out to my house on different days. We also had him install a new toilet, change several faucets, unclog a sink, fix several small leaks, and install some vents under the kitchen sinks. I was having trouble with my toilets backing up. Called Ryan, who recommended new, higher quality toilets. He researched a few brands and gave me several options in different price ranges, based on the color and shape I needed. He offered to pick them up and install the the following day. He called when he was on the way (8:30 AM). Ryan was incredibly nice, professional and quick. He gave me an estimate. He had to replace 3 toilets and the plumbing lines to them.
