We had to make several calls to receive service and they have not lived up to our expectations in more ways than one. 1. Quote provided on the requested pump was not what was installed 2. Service on replacement pump was frustrating because the explanation of the faulty pump did not make sense. Hope to resolve this issue with them but would definitely get things from them in writing. We would not recommend them to others seeking sewage pump replacements

Discovered floor drain overflow in basement at 6:30am. We have a well and septic system so the lower level plumbing is serviced by a sewage pump. If the pump stops working the drain will overflow. I called at 6:45am and Brad arrived as stated within an hour and a half. He discovered that the float was stuck resulting in the pump not working. He gave me two choices - just unstick the float or replace it. I decided to err on the safe side and replace it. As soon as the pump started working again, the water started to drain. He was done before 9am and the cost was very reasonable compared with what I had paid Roto Rooter previously when I called about a malfunctioning pump. Brad was very personable and efficient

Not so well. They were professional and timely, but out of site on cost. All told it was almost $2400 for materials and labor. They would not give me a break down of parts and labor cost. They work off of some sort of chart pricing, that din't seem to really reflect the scope of what they were bidding. After checking other plumbers, I was told the typical cost should be in the $800 range for parts and labor. Another company said I could supply the pump and only pay 1 1/2 to 2 hours of labor to install. Much better deal. These guys must think I am an idiot to pay their asking price. It was almost insulting. Stay away from these guys

We called on a Sunday as we arrived home to an alarm going off indicating that our sewage lift pump was not pumping and the holding tank was full. We wanted immediate service to ensure we would not risk a sewage back up into our home. We contacted A Aarts and Tims Quality plumbing as their web site indicated they had emergency service as well their web site listed a price for a lift station pump replacement of about $800. We assumed a burned out pump would be the worst it could be and 800 was a price we could live with. In contacting them they told us they could not respond that day as their add indicated but they could be out first thing in the morning. We agreed and crossed our fingers for no sewage back up overnight. The next day I followed up with them several times and long story short they finally made it out about 4pm that day. The plumber seemed confused when he arrived and admitted although he hadn't seen many of these this one looked different to him. He pulled the pump out disconnected everything only to tell us he did not have the right part and because it was so late in the day he could not go get a part until tomorrow. He also said that as this pump was bigger he could not replace it for the $800 as their site indicated. He thought it would be more like $1100. He came out the next day with the new pump and started working. I checked in with him and he said he could finish today but we were looking at $1600. He also tested the old pump and found that it was still good!!!! Only the switch was bad. He said unfortunately because he took everything out before he tested the pump to see if it was bad like he should have done; it would be almost as much money to install the old pump as to just put in the new. In short it took 3 days to complete a project that should have been done first day. Because they screwed up we had to replace a pump that wasn't even bad and they doubled their price in the process. These guys are clearly scam artists and should be avoided!!

We called mid afternoon to ask someone to come out, as we had no water. They were able to come after 4:30, and showed up by 5PM. They were here about an hour, and checked everything, determined that pump must have failed. They couldn't complete, as not enough daylight, so returned about 7AM next morning. They were able to access well and remove pipe and pump by hand, in order to not drive over the garden, and since porch overhang would have interfered with equipment. They explained everything as they went, removed the pipe, and the pump, which was over 45 years old! The pumped out the well to remove some of the debris, and put the pump in a bit deeper than it had been previously. They also put on a pressure gage. They got the system back up and running, and also shocked the well, since it had been opened. It took the two men over 4 hours to complete the job. It was great to have things done quickly! The estimate they gave me was within a few dollars of the final price, even though they needed to use a different size pump which was more expensive, and they removed everything by hand instead of machine

While on vacation the switch on our sewage ejector broke. Our house sitter heard the water alarm in the basement. From Ely, MN we called a number of plumbers to see who could help us. Zell was the first to call back. Scott promptly met me at our house two days later (with no one at home to use water in the house we didn't need to rush home to fix it) when he replaced the switch quickly and effectively. We moved into a newly renovated house 2 weeks prior and had problems with our basement bathroom shower and toilet backing up, even after having a drain cleaning company clean them out twice with powered pipe snake. They came to our place and listened to what was happening, and eventually decided that he needed to open up the sewage tank in the basement, which feeds into a sewage ejector pump. What he found was that the sewage tank had never had the plug removed (that lets the sewage enter the tank, and thus be pumped out .. the only reason it had let even some water through was because a small hole was made in it with the pipe snake). I was especially impressed with his completeness when figuring out what was wrong. My guess is that many other plumbers would have missed this, especially since the plug was really hard to see (and it wasn't pleasant to get close enough to actually see it either)

The replacement pump had a factory defect, so once we found this out Friendly Home Services immediately removed it and replaced it with another of the same type. They were prompt and courteous and sincere in trying to fix the problem. The second pump turned out to not be performing the way it was designed, so Friendly Home Services returned quickly to replace it with a top-of-the line system, free of charge. That one is working just fine. They were sincerely focused on making sure that we were taken care of, The service was so good, and so professional, that despite the technical issues, I wouldn't hesitate to call them for other repairs and maintenance

He not only replaced the pump but, at our request, replaced the outflow line to accommodate the capacity of the new pump. This project went great, i can not say enough good things about Gardner and their lead field supervisor Seth. Seth knows his trade, I understood the project and what need to be done. Other contractors bid the job while keeping me in the dark and saying trust me! Seth explained what needed to be done and saved me $3000. other contractors tried to over sell the job and do more then what was needed. I felt safe and confident choosing Seth, he is the most honest person i have ever met. Also i was a big skeptic of interior drain tile! Not any more, we lucked out and had the Derain tile in before three big storms and our basement stayed dry! Without drain tile we would've flooded! Another benefit is our basement smells good and is getting better every week! We used to have 4 dehumidifiers running non stop to keep the basement dry, even in the winter! Now we have one and it doesn't run consistently. Wow! I called seven companies and choose Gardner Construction for a reason, save your self some time and take my advise and just call Gardner

Joe gave me an estimate over the phone based on the square footage of our basement which I already had from another basement contractor's written estimate. The price he quoted me was nearly $2000 less than his closest competitor. What impressed me was his honesty - he listed the exact cost of materials and labor and what his profit would be on the job. He gave me a start date approx a month from the phone call and his crew arrived on the day at the time he stated they would. His crew prepped the basement with plastic and covered the carpet. They also demo'd and removed a broken basement shower and removed the toilet for us for an additional $100 which we had agreed upon previously. Start to finish it took his crew 2 days for our 98 ft basement. They were very accommodating and were happy to allow me to take pictures of the progress including measuring the slope from the high point to the low point of the sump to ensure water would move quickly through the system Stating "we stand by our work." On the morning of day 3 Joe came by and cleaned up all the excess material outside on the street and patched a spot on the concrete block that I did not find aesthetically pleasing. (yes I am that picky) I would definitely hire Joe again, and plan to when it comes time to install our basement egress windows. I would also recommend him to others. Overall GREAT value for the $$$$

Everything went great, even better than I expected. Dave worked with my schedule, his sons showed up on time. We had a very corroded pipe on the WH, so it looked as though the heater might need to be replaced. The guys were able to save the water heater which saved us hundreds of dollars. They also fixed a problem leak on our bath tub. We live in an older house and the clearance on the drain pipe was an issue. They were able to replace the pipe, and it is finally done correctly ( the last guy didn't get it right ) I will recommend them to my friends and family, and will call them gain for any of our plumbing need

I called the folks at Standard Water Control as they had initially installed the drain tile and sump pumps in my house before I bought the house in July 2012. The drain tile was installed in 1997 along with the original sump pump. The back-up sump pump was installed in 2004. I replaced the back-up sump pump batteries last fall. I ended up replacing the original sump pump myself with phone help from the employees at Standard Water Control. I did buy a new sump pump onsite for $320 and found that the price is about twice what you can purchase similar models for on Amazon. So, I think the item was a bit overpriced. Anyhow, this company has a good reputation and was helpful over the phone and in person, so i will use them again in the future as needed

This is my second experience with Angell Aire (they installed a new, high efficiency furnace four years ago) and they repeated their high quality work this time as well. I called for an estimate and within two days Craig Angell arrived exactly on the appointed time. He was very knowledgeable about the products that would fit my requirements and even recommended a less expensive unit, explaining that it would fit my needs better. I ended up ordering a Bryant heat pump that was a companion unit to the Bryant high efficient furnace that Angell Aire installed previously and their pricing was very competitive compared to other bids I received. The work was scheduled only three days after I called to accept the bid and the installers arrived exactly on time. By coincidence, that installers were the same team that had installed my furnace and they did another great job. They were respectful of my house by carefully placing tarps down on all areas where they would walk and cleaned up their work area after they were done. They were friendly, polite, professional and completed the work quickly. More importantly, the installation was done perfectly and I am very happy with my new unit. I would recommend Angell Aire to anyone
