Just Sprinklers
My 80 year old mother diligently looks after a backyard “pond” that had been a pet project of my now deceased father. The pond liner recently ruptured and the water level was becoming dangerously low. Just Sprinklers sent a crew over to rescue the fish and water lilies (at a cost of $1272) and to provide an estimate for building a new pond. My mother did not like the proposed design or the estimated price tag (about $12,000). On my mother’s behalf, my brother spoke with the designer (Richard) and was told if we were not interested in the rock-heavydesign proposed, Just Sprinklers would not be interested in the project. When asked about the price, Richard advised that even the laborers were billing out at $80 per hour. My mother chose a different company to do the pond just as she wanted ($1800 complete) and that is when the fun begins. When my mother tried to arrange to have the fish and lilies put back into the new pond, she was advised they would “gently” place the tanks in her driveway and that she would be responsible for getting them back into the pond. I attempted to reach the owner, John Seaver, four times and never received a call back. I finally got called back by a different employee, Johnny, and was told that because they didn’t build the pond or approve of the approach of the people that did, they would no longer be responsible for returning the items into the pond. When pressed, Johnny told me he had no problem returning the fish, but that the lilies would have to done by someone else as Just Sprinklers did not want to risk damaging the pond liner by placing the heavy pots back into the water. When Just Sprinklers did return the items, they left everything in the driveway. Mother spoke with the man that delivered them and had him call the office to see if someone was coming over to put the fish back in the pond and was told no one would be coming. My elderly mother obviously was in no position to do anything and the gentleman told her he knew how to do the fish and would be happy to help. The gentleman soon got a call from Johnny and was told if he helped my elderly mother, he would be fired. Johnny, apparently not one to be inconvenienced by the truth or his previous commitments, was bound and determined to pay back my mother for not choosing his group to do the pond. Luckily for my mother, six neighbors came to the rescue and they were able to get the lilies and fish back into the pond. Not so lucky for Just Sprinklers, six neighbors got to see first-hand how Just Sprinklers tried taking advantage of an 80 year old woman. I’ve yet to hear from the owner and now could care less. I wouldn’t call this company to change the water in my gold fish bowl

The pond took approximately one week to rebuild. Monday - Aaron arrived and removed the surrounding boulders and liner. He then installed new pad/liner/pad combination and created the new river section and waterfall. Tuesday - Aaron applied the cement to the liner and surrounding boulders. Wednesday and Thursday - We patiently waited for everything to cure. Friday - Aaron acid-washed the concert and started the pump. We sat by the pond all evening enjoying our new and improved water feature

I bought a home that had a small man-made pond in the yard. I had the pump, etc from the previous owner but the pond had been winterized, water removed and I had no idea how to put it together to start it up again in the spring. Plus it was filled with water from the snow melt, leaves, etc. I decided to purchase the "pond spring clean" special. The Mason's Touch came out while I was at work and when I got home the pond water was clean, the pump was installed and the pond "fountain" working! They even seemed to have moved around the rocks that were surrounding the pond to make it look better. They did a great job and I would definitely use them again

It went great. They replaced my above ground pool liner as it was an insurance claim. They originally installed our pool in 2003. They have been great for customer service and any repair work. I buy most of my pool chemicals there and the staff is great. If you have a doughboy pool, I would strongly recommend The Pool Store. Keep up the great work

DOLPHIN POOL & SPA
We contracted with Dolphin Pool and Spa folks to replace a liner on a pool of a new house we purchased. The install was shoddy. They left rocks, debris and a lot of wrinkles throughout the pool. The worst area being the steps to the pool with horrible wrinkles and the liner pulling away for the pool wall. They had to come out multiple times but only after having a difficult conversation or text exchange. They also ripped our pool cover while removing it to perform replacing the liner. We ended up having to map each and every area there was debris under the liner prove to the company there was indeed debris under the liner. Over 30 items of debris. We also discovered during the pool floor inspection that they had not repaired issues with the pool concrete which was part of their proposal and cost. The next larger issue was regarding the warranty of the liner and the liner itself. I asked the company repeatedly for warranty documentation and was given a link to only the terms of the warranty coverage and a statement that their company covers the warranty and registers the liner for us. Called the company that made the liner and they have no record for 'our' liner, the company registering a liner or us. So, I then asked for the serial number for our liner. And here's where everything started to fit into place as to why the company did not want to provide us with the serial number or actual warranty information.... You see we selected this contractor because of a promotional upgrade on the liner. It was an upgrade from a 20mil liner to 28mil. We even informed and confirmed with the contractor that the liner we selected through him qualified for the promotion upgrade and because of that, we approved their proposal. We wouldn't have ever selected them without this promotional upgrade. I had the contractor confirm that they had installed 28mil pool liner, the contractor confirmed that they had installed a 28mil pool liner, so I then called the manufacturer with the serial number to confirm warranty and liner specs. It turned out the contractor didn't install a 28mil pool liner, they installed a 20mil liner. Reached out again to the contractor, the response was not good. Definitely one of the worst contractor experiences I have ever had. I would suggest looking elsewhere for your pool and spa needs

Incredibly responsive and she's going to do what she says. I'd recommend giving strong consideration to Custom on major pool projects. The pool project was taking place at the same time as other projects and it was well coordinated. Custom came out early this year (the project was done a year ago) to resolve a small issue - essentially standing behind what they had done

We came home from vacation and our pool was green. We couldn't see the top step( that has only 2 in of water). spent quite a bit of money to kill whatever was growing in the water. The guys at the store were amazing. We cleared the pool, but i had to shock it everyday. I missed two days and we were back to square one. I was getting frustrated. Chris thought the next thing to do is drain the pool and start from scratch. Pat (the owner) offered to do this service for free. Pat actually came out and placed a vacuum in between the wall and the liner while the pool was being drained and refilled. I have a pool supply shop 5 miles from my house. I still drive out to little canada, because i know they will take good care of me. Chris is the go to guy. He is so knowledgeable and patient

Masterpiece Landscaping
They're very understanding. They know the product. They know how to do the work. So far, so good. If you give them a call anytime of the day and they get back to you right away and answer all your questions. They also tell you as their working, if you got any questions, they could change it. I don't have a certain time for them to be here but they're here when they say they're going to be here and even longer. The professionalism was really good. I would probably use them at one of my other houses

SWIMSAFE POOL COVERS
I should've trusted my dog. He hated him. We ordered a pool liner from him in April 2019. I texted and called after the weather cleared up in May. He rarely responded and when he did say he was going to show up he didn't. Always had some sort of excuse like shipping or he received the wrong item. In the end the liner didn't get installed until mid August and it did not go well. The liner kept falling into the pool as water was added. He left the old liner laying in my grass after saying he would get rid of it. He never showed up to close the pool after weeks of asking. If you see Rick, run. The low prices he quotes is just not worth it. To make things worse, our liner is falling again and we need to find someone else to handle the warranty

They're local. They're only about 6 blocks from my house. I think they do little backyard waterfall stuff. They were excellent. They were really good. The only reason I didn't choose them this last time to do yard clean up is because they were busy. They were reasonable. I believe their price was in the same ballpark with the last company I used. It was great. Actually, I got him right away when I called. It is a home-operated business. He and his wife were both very pleasant and very nice to deal with. He was a nice guy to talk to when he came out to the house. I went back to him for the work I had done this fall but he was booked up and wasn't available for a long period of time so I chose someone else. I would consider to use them in the future. I like to deal with local people and he's only about 6 blocks away

Brian came out and provided options and ballpark costs for replacing my landscaping around my pool. Brian asked questions about my goals and budget for the project. In a couple of days, Brian created a plan for the project and came back to review it with me and answer my questions. This was all done at no cost to me. After selecting ED over other proposals, Brian personally supervised the 2 person work crew. The crew needed to cut through the roots from an old tree for every planing hole that they dug. Brian and the crew paid attention to the details at every step. Although not planned, they brought in 2 tons of rock (at no additional cost) to make the finished area look better. They replaced the edging around my fence that had been previously broken and raked up the grass where they had driven the bobcat over my yard. They did all of the extras (that I wasn't expecting) to ensure that the project was up to their standards. Brian stayed in communication with me throughout the project and continually ensured that I was satisfied. When finished, Brian spent another 1/2 hour with us going over written instructions for maintaining our new landscaping. If you are looking for someone who really cares about the quality of their work and customer satisfaction, look no further than Brian Rayman and Environmental Design

Letendre takes pride in their work and worked with us to get an outstanding result. They might not be the cheapest, but they are well worth it. Our neighbors went ‘cheap’ and got what they paid for

Since moving into my home in 2009 I have had a drainage problem along the side of my home that involved two problems. Problem #1 was that my sump pump pipe would drain into the lawn and create problems with standing water. No matter how long of a sump pump hose I bought, I was constantly moving its position in the lawn in order to vary where the water would drain into my yard. Problem #2 was that I had a couple of low lying areas near my home that collected water during heavy rains and also during spring time snow melt. This water would then flow into my home and the sump pump would need to work overtime in order to drain it all away from the home. I searched for drainage contractors here on Angie's List and found Diversified Drainage. I contacted Mitch and he came to the house and assessed my situation. Mitch suggested digging a trench and laying a pipe underground that would run all the way from my sump pump outlet to a drain near the back of my property. Secondly, he suggested re-landscaping a portion of my yard to eliminate the low lying areas and creating a slope that would drain water away from my home. I agreed to the work and in early May 2014 the project was completed. All of the work was done in one day. In fact, they did it all while I was at work and buy the time I came home, it was a completed project. The only reason Diversified Drainage needed to return was to lay sod for the re-landscaping (sod was not yet available the day the project was done). It has been several weeks since the project was completed and I would have to call it a success. We have had several rain storms since the project was complete and my yard looks better and is drier because I do not have a sump pump hose laying in the yard. Also, the sump pump is running less often because the new landscaping is carrying water away from the house instead of pooling in the low lying areas

The weather was perfect and Performance pool came out as scheduled to remove the old pool liner and replace with a new seamless liner. They encountered some ground water but continued with the uninstall and installation. Began filling the pool and everything was looking great. After filling the pool to the spot they had indicated, we noticed a air/water bubble on the bottom of the pool. I called and they said they would take a look. We had gone out of town for the weekend and when we got back on Sunday, they had removed their equipment but there was now a huge air/water bubble on the bottom of the pool. I called and they told me to push it to the side. I did that and the bubble went away, but now we had wrinkles on the bottom. I called again, and they said they would come out and take a look. A couple of days later they came out and put sand bags on the bottom and refill to the a specific line. They charged me $200 in addition to the original $3600. They came out again, and removed the sand bags and began to fill the pool again. The wrinkles are still present on the bottom of the pool I filled pool to the top and discussed with them what their plans are for removing the wrinkles in the spring. A week went by and I noticed that the pool water level was going down. I emailed and called to let them know. They said for me to mark the level and get back to them in a day. I did that it had dropped 1.5 inches over a 36 hour period. They have not gotten back to me yet. It's been 6 weeks. The pool water level continues to drop and now is frozen. My guess is myautomatic pool cover will be destroyed by spring due to the pool leaking water. I'm not sure why they have not got back to me, I have not attempted to contact them either. I hope I can have a better rating in the spring after the fix our problems

In the fall of 2011, I installed a pond in my backyard as a do-it-yourself project. It has a river, waterfalls, 300 gallon pond, and a wetland area for the birds to bathe. It turned out ok, but there were a few things I didn't do very well by myself and I needed a professional with which to brain-storm improvement ideas. In the spring of 2012, I called Nick, at Pond King Water Gardens, to get his advice. Upon viewing my pond he was very gracious in his comments and offered suggestions to address my concerns; one of which was that it looked too and quot;boulder-yand quot;, and another was that I didn't think I made it deep enough. He also offered suggestions about things I didn't even consider, for example, adding an automatic top-off valve in the skimmer to replace evaporation, putting in a backflow preventer in case of a power outage, and adding a second pump for the bird bath area. He listened as I painted a picture in his mind of the features I wanted for the pond. My vision was to create a Northern Minnesota retreat. I wanted it rustic and wild as opposed to formal and manicured. He gave me wonderful ideas and a quote for the re-do. Since I had many items that needed and quot;fixingand quot; he gave me the prices a-la-cart so I could fit it in my budget; do a little now, and a little later. I decided on implementing ALL of his ideas! He wrote up a quote and provided a time frame for completing the work. It took two laborers working eight hours to finish it in a day. We provided the electrical needs. In the spring of 2013 I called Nick to thank him for making my pond beautiful and to hire him again, this time to make the pond portion bigger. This required a complete tear-out of the first pond. To shave a little money off the price I removed all the boulders and the liner; basically tore it apart myself. He had a and quot;clean slateand quot;. We kept the original design, but with the pond now being 2300 gallons! The water feature consists of four waterfalls, a streambed, a wetland area, large pond, water plants, fish, and lighting to enjoy it in the evenings. Since this is an outdoor project he and his crew were at the mercy of Mother Nature. The months of April and May were cold, snowy, and into June, rainy. Even though his estimate for completing the project was one week, the weather stretched it into three weeks. The whole time he kept in touch with me regarding days they could work. On the rainy days he kept the project site covered in tarps so as not to create too much mud. It was exciting to watch our vision materialize. His motto is: and quot;Works of Art, One Yard at a Timeand quot;. He is an artist and he brings the customers' vision to life. He is very knowledgeable about all things and quot;pondand quot;; from the biological balance to the placing of the boulders, to plant life and fish, his ponds are as close to being natural as if it were placed there by nature itself. I highly recommend Nick and Justin to create your water feature. You will not be disappointed.
