Tom and I went back and forth with him on what would be good, and we settled on a design with Bill's recommendation. I appreciated Bill's patience with us. Bill struck both of us as a true craftsman, very deliberate and thorough in his approach to his work. The end result is just beautiful in that the staircase very much fits within its space in the house. Bill was very considerate, too. He took off the railing, so I could paint that wall, and then he came back another day to put it on

Dave and his excellent group of guys reroofed our home, added a skylight, applied aluminum soffits/fascia in March. We were so impressed with his professionalism that we got an estimate for our deck stairs. He initially said it would be early May but he's so busy that he didn't get to it until late June. Dave was kind enough to keep in touch with us to let us know he hadn't forgotten us. When the work was done, we were unhappy with one of the handrails. His guys came out the next day to fix it. Longer wait than we would have liked but we are happy with the final product. We highly recommend Dave Bahr

I can't rave enough about Jeff's work. The actual sanding of the 65-year-old red oak floors was done by Doug. And he made an excellent job of turning a very sad-looking, stained, marked floor into a work of art. With 3 coats of polyurethane to finish. Jeff had a carpenter build the stairs, and the job was done in a day, and very nicely. Jeff came back after the rest of the job was done to add reducers around the fireplace and in doorways, and the result is fabulous. In addition, Jeff is a very nice guy to work with, punctual, hard-working and flexible. I'd hire him again in an instant

We had some issues with our old deck?the stairs were sinking and pulling away from the structure. Nate came out and gave us options from fixing the stairs and replacing the railing to replacing the deck. We chose to replace the deck using cedar with a composite railing. Nate and his crew were extremely professional, and when some issues surfaced due to the original builder, he gave us options on how to correct the problems. He suggested redesigning the staircase which gave us more square footage. He checked in with us regularly to make sure that we were happy with how the deck was progressing. The deck turned out great. We will use Nate again

Highly recommend and excellent person to work with!! Responsive, detailed, honest, and does the job right. We had a complex job of moving our staircase and adding a basement window. Staircase required structural engineering and was a project many people turned down as they felt it was too complicated. In addition, he cut a 5’x4’ + hole through foundation to add a window. He was priced well, and did excellent work. We can’t recommend him enough and look forward to completing more projects with him

The paint on the new iron staircase continually flaked off, leaving rust to develop. When we asked them to re-do it for the second time, they informed us that the reason it was happening was because they had changed the company they worked with and that the new product had proved inferior. We asked them to at least re-paint the staircase. In spite of frequent communication they never returned calls nor returned to complete the request. When we investigated the installation of a second new staircase they increased the price by over $1500. We are working with other agencies for re-dress of this situation

they visited promptly after my call, salesperson was courteous and professional, had a nice range of options (colors, designs) and fair pricing. Delivery was approximately 4 weeks after order, exactly as predicted. Installed on a cold day in December (I was worried that my job would have to wait until Spring) The railing itself looks quite nice, and is very sturdy/secure. Only two small drawbacks -- the cement-like material that they used to secure the posts into sidewalk has done some superficial flaking, looks a little messy but is structurally okay, at least so far, and also a dark grey color that does not match our sidewalk. Also, we provided a 50% deposit upon order, and then one day about a month later, the railing was present when we got home from work, and the remaining balance was deducted from our account. I found it odd that we didn't have any other contact, no call, etc., but it did work out fine in the end

Overall the project went well. Originally we met to decide if it was even possible to do what I wanted. After looking at the project, we decided to move forward. The project required a lot of measuring lengths and angles. He had to do some tricky work to make the bottom stairs that were exposed look good. The quality of the work was very good, very detailed oriented. I am very pleased with how the project turned out. Most days he didn't start until 10:00 in the morning

Received an estimate on rebuilding my basement stairs on 12/5/19. Project was started on 1/20/20 after changing contacts several time, with no permit from the City of Minnetonka. After the project was started and my basement stairs demolished to the point that I feel unsafe in using them; they proposed a new stair rebuild at a $1,200.00 increase in cost. I was told this was to meet code requirements. As my house was built in 1913, the stairs can be replaced "Grandfathered in". I have attempted to contact them several times, they are not returning my calls. I did make a payment of 40% of the original project cost, and a Visa Gift Card of $150.00 for material cost

Tom was quick to respond to my initial phone call and came to do an estimate the same week. He stained all of the wood in advance as well as custom-made wooden heat register covers. Tom brought someone to assist him. They were pleasant, very focused and excellent problem solvers. The job took them six hours and they worked without stopping. They also helped us carry up a very heavy piece of furniture and adjusted our pocket doors. They cleaned up when the job was complete. Clearly both took pride in their work

Jeff was truly an A rated provider. His prices are very reasonable but his work is exceptional! Very rarely do you get this combination! Jeff was flexible with timing, coming out on weekends and working around other subs timing that were very much less flexible. Friendly, responsive and on time! In this industry that is hard to find. He especially went above and beyond cutting one baseboard to exactly match the variations in our slate tile to eliminate any gaps because of the variation in the natural stone. The result is amazing! He's proud of and loves what he does and it shows! BEST servise provider by far in the entire building experience

Mark was very responsive throughout the entire span of our two separate projects. The desk and bar/cupboard area were our first project. They were done to our specifications in a timely manner. Mark was punctual, had a great work ethic, and even cleaned up after himself. We then had him return a few months later to transform our bifold door pantry with a new pull out wooden drawer system with paneled wooden cupboard doors to match the existing cupboards. The craftmanship that Mark did on our bar and cupboards was wonderful, we absolutely love this new area of our kitchen. He took extra care to really think out how to best put the pantry together to make it userfriendly for our whole family. I don't know how I lived with those wire shelves for so long! I would recommend Mark to anyone, as he is not only a wonderful craftsman, but a really nice guy

I got Eds name from another flooring company, Maple Leaf Flooring (Chad) in Minneapolis. He does not do floor refinishing so he referred me to Ed. I contacted Ed and he made an appointment and he gave me an estimate. We set a date and he showed up in the later morning. We had to be out of the house and had removed all furniture. He worked for 3 days sanding, staining and finishing the floors. We had to stay in a hotel for 5 days and could not put furniture on the floors for another 4 days. He came back 2 additional days to install all the molding and one door. He worked all day and cleaned up very well. He was very pleasant to be around and worked very hard. There was of course an extra charge for the molding work, but I was informed of this before the project started. His craftsmanship is beautiful and he made sure everything fit perfectly. This was challenging as some of the previous construction done on the house involved angles which were difficult to mider. He had to make up for a lot of imperfection in the house and the door was not perfectly squared which made for a difficult installation. I am sure not all floor sanding companies do of this type of work

They came in and accessed my home as to what I need. They give a quote first. I said I want things that I am interested in getting. Even the hand grill that goes into the garage helps me to get into the house. They gave me the price of what that would cost. They gave $50 less for the first service for any installation that they do. The work looks perfect, and they matched the color of one side to the other. They are very flexible. They will come in when I want them to come in. They don't call and ask what I need in my house. They made sure the railings are secured enough. There was some molding taken off while drilling, so I called them, and they came in right away to fix it

We needed to increase the height of the railing on our stairwell for safety, so we had a custom iron rail made to go on top of the existing wood piece. The railing Loftus made is beautiful and exactly what we need. (Pic attached – we will be adding an additional wood top rail soon). Although we know the job was small for them and didn't expect to be in constant communication, I would say that the communication was a bit lacking. But – it did get made and installed! However, installers seemed to be hurried and caused a couple scratches in our existing wood top (which I had just refinished)

Everything went very well, from the initial estimate to the finished job. Nick understood right away what was needed and what my priorities were. The wooden stairs were at least 30 years old and rotting away. The staircase is on a steep hill and access is tricky. The Coty team was very professional and the finished staircase replacement is sturdy and looks great. They left the property clean and in excellent condition. I would definitely use Coty Construction again and recommend them to my friends and neighbors.
