We received 3 bids for a home alarm system. Two of the systems were comparable (a combination of hard wire and wireless) and we chose the one with higher upfront costs and a lower monthly monitoring fee. When the technicians came to install the system they discovered they could not get wires up to the second floor where we wanted a key pad installed. This was after several hours of checking and probing. Our options were to install a wireless remote keypad, which differed in style from the first floor keypad, or to use a wireless system for both up and down stairs keypads. The salesman brought over a wireless remote to show us what it looked like. We knew we wanted both keypads to be identical and rejected that option. We were not pushed to make a decision at that time and the salesman and technicians left. Our options then were to go with wireless identical keypads or chose another company and see what they could do. We thought it over and decided to continue with Silent Knight. A new installation date was set and the system was installed and tested and we were shown how to use it. Since then I have called the company with minor questions about the system and have received answers in a timely manner

The installers showed up on time and completed the work promptly. He did a very through job and was very neat about his work. He did have to bring wiring from the basement to the master suite in the attic and did a very job completing the wiring. There was a misunderstanding between the salesman and the installer about what needed to be done with a second keypad. The installer thought it was upgrade to the existing keypad when it was supposed to be installed in a different part of the house. After I reviewed the work and pointed out that I was suppose to have a second keypad installed in the master suite they promptly solved the issue. I ended up getting two new keyboards installed in the house and only had to pay for one

The installer was prompt and did a great job. He cleaned up everything well afterwards. However, we had a door sensor that began to fail after about a week. We called to have it serviced and were given a date and time to expect the repairman. On the date of the service the repairman called to tell us he was running late. He ended up not being able to come. This was frustrating since I had taken the day off for the service repair and I was told that they could not send someone on a Saturday for the repair. Ultimately, the problem was resolved and a repair person came out on a Saturday so that I did not have to take another day off. Outside of this incident, the rest of the installation went fine

EVERYTHING WAS GREAT. INSTALLER CAME WHEN HE SAID AND TOOK THE ESTIMATED TIME. ALL COMPONENTS OF THE SYSTEM ARE WIRELESS, SO NO WIRES NEEDED (EXPECT TO THE POWER TO THE KEYPAD). ALL SENSORS ARE SMALL AND FAIRLY UNNOTICEABLE. THE COST WAS CHEAPER THAN ADT AND I LIKE THAT IT IS A LOCAL COMPANY. FLOYD'S HANDLES LOTS OF BUSINESS IN THE TWIN CITIES, SO THEY ARE PLENTY LARGE ENOUGH COMPANY WITH A GOOD REPUTATION. I WOULD RECOMMEND TO ANYONE

There was an initial miscommunication. However, the technician promptly came back and fixed the issue and even fixed our garage door opener as well to make up for the hassle of the miscommunication. The garage door itself looks amazing. Also, the cost of the garage door was almost half of what my home warranty vendor wanted to charge for the same quality door. Service was very prompt, even considering the miscommunication issue. I would highly recommend this company and would definitely use them again

Dannie was amazing. I got a call within 2 minutes (yes, 2 minutes) of submitting a request. He was very professional and flexible in terms of scheduling. He quoted me accurate pricing on the phone and it was very fair. We agreed upon a 2-hour window. He then called me the day of the appointment to confirm his exact arrival time and he showed up right on the dot (not 1 minute late!). Once there, he treated me and our home with incredible respect and professionalism and completed the work way beyond our satisfaction. I wish every contractor was this wonderful. I would call Dannie from Green Locksmith again without hesitation, and in fact have already recommended him to 2 family members. I was approched by an associate at a wholesale club. I told him I was looking for a new front door and he gave me a card advertising Rusco Co. I called and set p an appointment with Rusco and a representative came out to talk to me. The quality of the door is excellent. The price is about double what I would have paid at a local hardware store but I liked the 10 year warranty which came with the door. Just before the door was scheduled to be installed, I called the salesman who came out and asked to have an electronic dead bolt lock included with the door. First I was told OK, then I received a call and was told they didn't have one on their shelf and they would have to order one for $400. I was in a hurry to have this done so I said OK, order the lock and install it. Later I found the same lock at a local hardware store for $100.00. I called and asked if I could buy a lock myself and install it I was told if I did the door and lock would not be under warranty so I went ahead with the lock from Rusco. When the worker from Rusco came out with the lock, he was not sure of how to install it. I helped the fella install the lock and quickly went back to my work. I found later when I got home after work that the lock opened all the time whether a code was entered or not. I called for service and was recommended to take it apart myself to fix it. I did and found a wire out of place and pinched. The lock was warranted with the door

It's working out fine. I had some problem with it to begin with. When they sent the pieces to me they had already batteries on them. I had to two keypad batteries and one keypad died within a few days when I set it up. The other keypad batteries died the following week but they did send me some new batteries to replace batteries. Anyhow, I had no problem with it

When leaving for work, discovered garage door wouldn't stay closed. When I tried to close it, it eventually got stick in a half closed position and wasn't able to close it manually. We contacted a few other service providers and Steve's company had the best price and was available to com out the same day to make the repair. Steve showed up on time (and within an hour's notice) and fixed the problem quickly. While he was here, we asked him about a keypad that wasn't working and he fixed that as well at no additional cost. I highly recommend Steve's company to others. He was on time, professional, responsive and he didn't charge more than his quote

A new housemate was unable to enter the house using a key I knew worked in the lock. However, the knob and lock had caused numerous other visitors difficulty, so on New Year's Eve I sought a locksmith on Angie's List. Chuck arrived two hours later and solved the problem by unscrewing the knob, repositioning it, and tightening it. He cut a new key that we knew would work and lubricated the lock, which dates to the 1940s. He offered to take it apart to look for a broken part but his tone discouraged me from paying additional for that nonessential service. The lock is functioning well, and I will know how to repair it in the future. He also discussed the pros and cons of a keypad system when I said I was considering that. Chuck, the owner, charged me his regular service call and for cutting the key but not for labor. I feel it was money well spent. I felt it was more than fair and would certainly call LockGuard, Inc. again
