He installed crown moulding on the master bathroom linen closet at no extra charge! The entryway coat rack cubby shelf is a piece of art! The quality of worksmanship is great! He custom designed it to our needs and specifications and color matched to our trim. He did some extra work with no hesitation and extra charge. Dmitry is a friendly person to work with. I got a prompt response from Tim. He showed up on time, and his price seemed reasonable. He finished the projects in less than 2 days. He answered any questions I had patiently and respectfully. I was very impressed with Tim's workmanship. The crown moulding has nice tight corners with no gaps. The miters on the light rail are excellent. The stairwell trim is lovely. The window and door trim that he was to match actually looks better than the original. It is just put together better with better miters and seems. Plus, I can't wiggle the plinth blocks like I could after the last carpenter came. He did underestimate how much of one type of trim he would need, but he then went and got that trim himself. He had to splice one piece of the crown moulding together, but as we are painting it, it will not be noticeable. I am very happy to have all of these little unfinished projects done, and very happy with the quality of work. I would not hesitate to hire Tim again

Kurt and his crew did a LOT of work on my house this summer. The first project was an interior painting project that expanded to include new crown moulding, custom window trim, and baseboards throughout the living and dining areas. I had expected that I would have to hire someone else to do the carpentry work, but Home Transformations has a terrific carpenter--I worked with him and with Kurt to choose the style and appearance of the architectural details I was going for (I have a historic, cottage-style home and I wanted a look that was faithful to the pedigree of the house). It turned out beautifully. The quality of the work, both carpentry and painting, was even better than I had expected, and the result really was, dare I say it, a Home Transformation. It looks amazing. The exterior paint project involved removing a good bit of mold that had accumulated on my cedar siding. As an added bonus, Kurt's team also spray cleaned my decking in front and in back at no extra charge. How nice it is to be pleasantly surprised by something like that! The finished exterior paint looks great, too. Careful and thorough work throughout. Others have commented on Kurt himself, and I agree that he is a delight to work with: punctual, good communication, responsive to needs, and dedicated to making his customers happy. He had also done wonderful work with the installation of large cherry closet doors, crown moulding and finish carpentry. We hired Eric to help with the completion of a boat storage shed for our lake toys. We had two things on our "to-do" list for Steve, that we thought an experience handyman could finish in the 4 hour timeframe of the Big deal. 1. Hang crown moulding in a perfectly square 11 x 11 dining room. There is nothing unique or complicated about this room, four straight walls, the easiest thing for crown moulding. 2. Install a closet door. We had the rough opening and everything else. Easy as well. Unfortunately, Steve only got to hanging the crown moulding ? it took 4 hours for 4 pieces to be hung! I was nearly in shock. And after looking at it when it was finally finished, the angle in which it lays is totally different from the the adjacent living room and all other rooms in our home. I'm not sure if we bought the wrong stuff or if it was installed wrong. Either way, when Steve was hanging it, he didn't mention how different the angle was and how strange it looks. I was shocked. Also, I knew we'd have one seam in the moulding and I specifically told hime where I wanted it (in the corner) and he didn't put it there, it's right above our windows, the focal point. And the seam is not smooth, I'm not sure any amount of putty will smooth it out. I was pretty frustrated about the amount of time it was taking, and no word from him on why it took so long. I'm frustrated that we only got one thing off the list done, as I'm sure almost any experienced handyman could have tackled both projects in the time allowed. And the finished work is bad, I'm considering having it redone, by someone else. So sadly, it was a waste of time and money

We liked Chris from the beginning and are glad we chose him. He coordinated calendars with us, was always on time and pleasant, and listened to our ideas. He helped us refine the work plans we'd drawn. He did considerable handmilling of the classical trim on the mantel and figured out how to put it together so no fasteners would show. He recommended Rockler's to us, a treasure for woodworkers. He took the time to trim each shelf to fit perfectly into its place. On the last day he offered to reinstall the handle of our front storm door which another workman had mistakenly installed upside down! In agreeing to a partnership with Chris in which we sanded, stained, and finished the hardwood and sanded and primed the drywall, we were able to keep the cost of the project down to a price we could afford. There were some errors of mitering in the mantel and crown, both difficult finish work, but we think the overall project is a smashing success and adds considerable value to our home

Steve Mueller gave us an estimate first for the remodeling of 3 rooms on first floor. He impressed us in that he showed up on time, on the day he said he would be here. We had 3 construction firms that didn't show up at all! We had 2 other bids and accepted Mueller Construction,s. Steve actually listened to what we wanted to do. This was our 4th house remodel and we had some ideas of our own. He totally listened, gave great advice. He has a good aesthetic eye. Gave us advice on some things we wanted that he thought wouldnt' work but did what we wanted if we insisted. Saved us time and money. Steve and all his workers were a pleasure to work with. They were on time. They were courtious. We had three young children and a large dog at the time and we all were able to get along. We had workers in the house for 6 weeks and had no "horror stories" to tell. Would definitely use them again. Actually had an estimate for 2 more bathroom remodels but have children in college and can't afford it at this time. Will do it in a few years. Really can't say enough about the quality of work from Mueller Construction

The Handyman
I wanted one particular bush trimmed, which Butch did. He asked about trimming a few others, and I agreed. There was a lot of debris left behind in my wood chip landscaping, even though he used dropped cloths. He insisted he needed lawn debris bags, so I went out and bought them - a waste f my time and money. I had three toilet seats replaced. The new hardware were nylon bolts, and all 3 seats were loosely installed. Butch asked if he could have the metal bolts from the old seats, and not knowing that the seats were not solidly installed I told him he could - I was not pleased after he left and the seats were all lloose. I had two pieces of crown moulding that needed to be reattached to the top of my cabinets. He attacked the first one with a hammer, and after spending a fair amount of time on it, leaving it quite damaged, he said he just couldn't doo it. I asked him to replace the front door bell, which he said he couldn't do as he had never done one before. I did it myself. I was going to have him put a light bead of caulk around my master bath, but after the moulding incident, I wasn't comfortable having him do that. I was getting my home ready to place on the market, so rather than saving myself time by hiring a "handyman", I ended up spending much more of my time cleaning up the tree debris, finding and installing toilet seat hardware, installing my own door bell, having the crown moulding repaired and installed, running out to a store to buy lawn debris bags I didn't need and doing my own caulking. Butch can probably mow your lawn and trim your trees, but I couldn't recommend him beyond that. He seemed pretty uncertain bout what he could and could not do, and while he is a nice guy and all, he couldn't do most of what I had in mind for him

Working with Posch Builders was a fantastic experience! The entire project ran smoothly, stayed within budget, finished on time and really couldn't have gone any better. We wanted to update our kitchen and it was our first home remodelling project. We felt very comfortable with Brian, Owner of Posch Builders. I found him on Angie's List and it's true what people say - his communication is outstanding. He remembered every detail of our project and always followed up when he said he would. Brian is very detail oriented and very patient. He took the time to explain everything that was being done. We were very impressed with the sub-contractors that were used as well. Everyone was very professional, courteous and best of all, clean! In the midst of the planning stage, we had our first baby. Brian was very flexible and respectful of our time. I was a little worried about having an infant in the house during construction, but was pleased to come home to a clean kitchen each night. There was very little dust and Brian did his best to schedule things so that we would always have a functioning kitchen, which we did. He went above and beyond, even doing extra little things like replacing the hinges on one of our existing cupboard doors that didn't close tightly. Our project took just over two weeks and exceeded our expectations. I would highly recommend Posch Builders to anyone for any project, I cannot say enough good things about the company. They do it all, big or small. We will absolutely be using them again in the future. Thanks Brian

Tim was recommended to us by a neigbor and did a great job. He trimmed out our kitchen, dining room, and entry way using oak doors and trim which I stained myself. This helped save some money. He showed up on time and we went over the job before he began. Everything turn out just how we discussed it. The joints were nice and tight and everything was very secure. It could not have gone better. Victor, the owner, is so professional and so easy to work with. He referred me to a wonderful tile shop that he works closely with and who made picking out the tile a breeze. Victor also ordered what I needed and picked it up and incorporated that cost in the estimate. Victor is a hands on owner. He was in contact with me at every step of the way. He was on sight at least once every day to insure everything met his high standards and to insure that I was happy with what had been done so far. He was also there to work if something required two workers. Every concern I had was addressed and no concern was too small. He always let me know when workers would arrive and if there would be any changes or delays. My job was not huge but Victor acted like it was a million dollar project with all the attention he gave it. Andrey was assigned to do the work. I could tell that Victor has employees similar to him. Andrey did a fabulous job. You can tell he is a perfectionist. Everything was precise and exact. He was always on time, kept everything clean and protected, checked in with me at every new step of the project to insure that I was happy with the progress and with his work. He would go over everything at the end of the day and again in the morning to check if I was still happy with how things looked and whether I had any new questions or concerns. Victor did the same. His work was impeccable. I can not say enough that is positive about this company. I am so Happy I picked Metro Floors to do my master bathroom

I had this work done a while ago. I sometimes think you should wait a while before reviewing someone to see how the work holds out. I couldn't have been more pleased with this contractor's work. He arrived promptly and didn't push to upsell. He worked quietly and quickly. I am so very happy with the way my tub looks. My only suggestion would be to consider options to prevent the tub bottom from being slippery if you use it for a shower

Our decision came down to 2 companies, Eclipse and Bella Casa. These were the only 2 that came in with estimates that actually described doing the work that we really needed. Explained the real wood repair we knew was required and made us feel confident that they would do the job right. In the end it came down to price and timing, with Eclipse being a good deal less expensive (without being cheap and causing concern about cutting corners). We're extremely happy with all the work they did on our house. The wood trim is in really great shape and they even have the windows looking really good. There are only 2 concerns we have with the finished project: 1. Color matching on the house was off, the new color is a few shades darker than the old, we wanted the old color 2. There are a few places on the window sashes where you can clearly see rotary sander marks from the paint removal. On the whole though, the work they did was way beyond our expectations, they fixed a number of areas i was really not expecting, such as some bad trim boards under the soffits. Finally they did a great job cleaning up. When they left we didn't see paint chips all over and the mower didn't hit a single nail. I was impressed with this. I'd definitely recommend them to others

We had purchased an Angie's List deal for 60 linear feet of crown molding. Steve Scheftel was prompt, informative and was open to schedule. We decided to do our entire main floor and it looks fabulous. He did call in a different installer, but we have no complaints. The gentleman was courteous, nice and very thorough. All costs were very clear up front. our only issue is that they did not use all of the materials, so instead of taking them and giving us a discount (for actual goods used), they left the materials. I guess that's fine, we got what we paid for, but now we have crown molding laying around

I chose Next Level because it was listed on Angie's List. Nathan was responsive, came to my home to give me an estimate at which time I asked him if the work could be finished by Thanksgiving. It was finished on the 24th and the person that did the work was punctual, professional and finished in a half a day. My master bedroom looks beautiful.
