Minimal choices for cork floors than other places, but cheaper. Lady we ordered from had to ask someone else a lot of questions and didn't know about transition pieces with cork. It took them 20 minutes to find the product when we picked it up. They then told us it was in the rain, but the product was wrapped up so didn't damage. We were happy they told us though. If you install cork yourself make sure you get the floating floor installation kit also. The product arrived in the store earlier than expected

Anton was easy to work with, responsive, and punctual. I found that not all flooring installers will install cork, but he had experience with it, and did a wonderful job. Even the the person we worked with to choose the flooring was friendly, knowledgable, and fun to work with. Anton took care of all of the details. In addition to installing the cork floor, he also replaced some broken trim, and installed new quarter-round. He had it pre-stained to match the existing trim. We love the finished floor and would definitely recommend Anton for any of your flooring needs- you will not be disappointed

Tom Becker responded quickly to my phone call and made an appointment to come and talk over the job. He came equipped with samples (which he left) and was able to give an accurate rough estimate of the job and its cost. He returned with his installer (Derrick) and they pulled up a small portion of the floor to see what would be involved. He went ahead and ordered the flooring. When it arrived Derrick called to schedule the time. Derrick was a gem! He brought everything he needed. He draped furniture with plastic sheeting. He cleaned up after himself continuously. The removal of the old floor was a bit harder than anticipated but he took this in good stride. It added a day to the job that he did not anticipate but rearranged things so our job would get done quickly. He did a beautiful job and our floor looks fantastic. ProSource (the flooring supplier) referred me to Corey Miller for our cork flooring installation. Corey gave us great advice on material and installation for our concrete slab-on-grade house to maximize the insulating properties of the cork. We needed to fit in the floor installation between other aspects of our kitchen remodel and Corey was flexible in timing even though his schedule was tight. When he came to demo the existing tile, the concrete underlayment was wet. Corey found a slow leak from the dishwasher. To allow time to fix the problem and dry out the floor, he rescheduled that part of the job and ended up working on a Saturday to finish up. We very much appreciated Corey's professionalism and no-nonsense approach. The installation results are terrific and we love our new cork floor. I will definitely call on this company when we get around to refinishing our wood floors

We were not disappointed. The floor turned out beautifully. He and his workers came when they said they would and got the job done in less than 2 days. We are conscious of indoor air quality and wanted to use materials that would minimize off-gassing. Anton promptly provided the information (material safety data sheets primarily) we requested for the various project materials and was flexible to accomodate our needs. His proposals clearly showed what would be done and the pricing for each step. We would definitely recommend his services and use them again

Unique Wood Floors
We loved the sales associate we worked with at the store - Mary - who helped us assess the different options for cork flooring they offered. After meeting with them, they had someone come and measure the space, and provided a written quote over email for the project. Originally we had hoped to do the entire upper half story along with the staircase, and we liked the product Unique Wood Floors offers because it was possible to use the same material for the stairs. However, the total quote for stairs + upstairs flooring came to $8681 which was over what we had budgeted for the project. We decided to sand and paint the stairs ourselves, which were in pretty good condition, and only have the cork put in upstairs, and they provided us a new quote that was in line with what we could spend. We had to follow up after the materials arrived once to set the schedule, but the company was responsive over email and everything was straightforward. The installers were timely and polite. We love our cork floors, and it's been a great surface for the room as our baby learns to walk since we are using the space as a playroom. It cleans up easily and dampens sound. The only disappointment was the baseboards (which to be fair is not their specialty). The joins are a little sloppy and misaligned, and were scuffed/dirty from the install, so we'll have to paint them eventually. I would definitely use Unique Wood Floors again for flooring, but I would probably work with a different contractor for trim. Also to be fair, we didn't bring any complaints to the company about the baseboards, mostly because I was 8 months pregnant at the time of the project and just anxious to have it checked off. Based on the other interactions I would imagine they would have been responsive

The whole thing took about 15 minutes. I had to find the right guy with the right equipment. They did a great job and did what I needed. The person I first called had a knee operation and he couldn’t do anything for me. The person that he sent over here was an old partner and a guy that he used to work with. He recommended him. The guy I ended up calling lived half a mile away from me. Cork floors do shift. So, you need to take up the little boards so that you can get to the end of the cork. Then you need to put the tool down that looks like a T and the long T-part curves up. Then you need to hit the end of the T really hard and it shifts everything to tighten it up. It is used for installation too. You can move them wherever you want them by using that equipment. The guy who came out was nice. There was no clean up or anything. He just removed the pieces and put something over there. Then he tightened it all up. He also used some nails at the end to keep it from shifting. It wasn’t a huge project. The floor kept shifting and the little gaps were getting larger. They were also all in one section. If I need anything else done, I would call him back

Kjellberg Carpet One Floor & Home
Kjellberg was actually our second choice. After we had initially ordered the bamboo flooring from another company and been delayed indefinitely, we cancelled that order when we found similar flooring at our local Carpet One. It still took a while to get the product delivered and to schedule the installer, but the project was finished before our "drop-dead" date (we had company coming over the July 4th weekend) and the result is wonderful! We love both floors, but especially the dining room floor (tiger strand bamboo). There were a couple of minor glitches (installer overslept the first day, etc), but nothing that kept the project from being completed on schedule. We would definitely purchase from K Jellburg again

The initial inspection of the chimney revealed the chimney was being held up by gravity. Proper maintenance was not done over the years . I am over the moon with the results once Guardian came out and rebuilt the chimney. It looks fantastic. Our experience with Graley Concrete was very good. Especially working with co-owner Trevor Lindstrom. All through the project, from start to finish he was upfront, patience and open to all of our questions concerns and ideas. During our initial contact Trevor walked us through what our project would entail. During his measuring for the estimate he was very courteous and respectful of our home. We obtained three estimates for these jobs (one of which was an award winning company) and Graley's was comparable but not the cheapest. We chose Graley because Trevor was the most knowledgable and enthusiastic. He would readily contact and educate us. For the stamped concrete work there were many example of Graley's work in the area. But the interior stained concrete floor viewing was limited to photos until Trevor offered to let us come to his home, where he had stained his own floor. We took a ride over and checked out his work. The floor was beautiful and as a bonus we were able to meet his wonderful family.They were booked out approx two weeks but on the day promised the crew showed up. They were efficient and professional. Trevor was there during the whole process. He did the interior floor staining himself and as he was applying the stains to the floor he would call my wife down to make sure the color was to her liking. And before he sealed the floor he had her come down to look it over so she had a final opportunity to make changes. Both jobs were completed in two days. Although Trevor came back approx 3 weeks later after the patio cured to clean and seal it. The cost was right at the estimate, there were no hidden or additional charges. Both the floor and the patio turned out wonderful. The artistic work of both projects will enhance the value and beauty of our home for years to come. We highly recommend Graley Concrete Construction

Small kitchen with 20 year old vinyl flooring. Moved appliances into living room. Removed old flooring and sub flooring. Put in new 1/4 inch subfloor and marmoleum over two days time. Excellent job cutting around cupboards and finishing off all edges, replacing some badly worn molding. Also finished off a floor edge around a new cabinet which was worth the whole price of admission. Excellent results. Love my floor

The project went reasonably well. In the end, I love the result. The closet and floor were done as proposed / planned. They came up with the creative idea for the roll-out shelf, designed and installed it. Its an excellent solution for my setting / situation. There were a couple of hiccups in creating the roll-out shelf requiring it to be rebuilt twice to reduce the width so that it would work once the closet framing and doors were installed. I didn't mind the time to do this, except it was all T&M which I felt was excessive given the oversight was on their part

I originally hired B&R because they had worked for a friend of mine and she had great things to say about their work. And I was really happy that I did because they did a great job on both projects that they did for us. They were professional, punctual, easy to work with, very friendly, did high-quality work, and have great customer service. I always felt like I could call them with questions about the work, about scheduling, or anything else, and I always got a prompt and courteous reply. They helped me pick out materials and Kurt even arranged for us to be able to visit the house of another client of his who had the same type of flooring installed that we were considering. (The client also raved about the floors and about Kurt's work.) So that helped a lot in terms of making our decisions. Kurt also knew that we were interested in eco-friendly materials and recommended the Celenio flooring, which I hadn't heard of before. I can't really compare their price to others' prices because honestly I didn't look around a whole lot after getting such a strong recommendation to hire him, but I feel like the price was definitely fair for the quality of work and the overall experience of working with B&R (I have had past experience working with other contractors who don't stay on schedule or on budget, have bad customer service, etc., and I just had no problems at all of this type with B&R). Also, I never felt like they pushed me to do anything just because it would mean more earnings for them. The second time around I had an estimate from the insurance company that I had to work within, and that was not an issue at all -- Kurt figured out how to make that work out with what I was interested in. Oh, and they were even helpful about things like moving furniture that I couldn't move on my own. I realize this may all sound over-the-top positive but I just honestly don't have any complaints about them and it was such a relief to be able to hire someone who just made everything go smoothly and come out well with as little inconvenience as possible. In summary: the floors came out great and I enjoyed working with B&R, and would definitely hire them again and recommend them to others

We went to Floors of Distinction for advice on flooring for a renovation of a family room on the lower level of our walk-out rambler. Bruce Beaudoin explained the features and benefits of the available options -- carpet, ceramic tile, wood, vinyl and cork. It became apparent that a cork floor would not only be ideal for our application, but would be beautiful (and it is!). We took several samples home, and, with Bruce's counsel and advice, decided on a product that fit the style of our renovation perfectly. This was for a large family room (about 22' x 38') with access to a patio and hot tub outdoors. The functionality of the product is outstanding. The cork panel we chose is very durable, yet retains a supple feel with a little bit of "give" underfoot. The product has handled roller blades, skateboards, basketball and football games, a large dog, and heels of all kinds without any permanent marring or damage. Scuff marks are easily removed with a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. Cork does not absorb much heat or cold (unlike ceramic tile, for example), so the floor remains comfortable with bare feet in all seasons. With a very small space heater in one corner, we have had 8 kids sleeping directly on the floor with sleeping bags or blankets in the middle of winter with no complaints. Moreover, with all of the traffic back and forth from the hot tub, we have proven that cork flooring is very moisture friendly. The floor has seen a lot of wet feet and dripping bodies, with no impact on the floor whatsoever. Cork repels moisture (think cork in a wine bottle). The brown/gold/tan color mix adds a warm feel to the actual warmth of the product, and the styling of the panel we chose fits our more modern design elements exactly. Bruce Beaudoin is extremely knowledgeable about flooring. Cork is not as popular as one would think, given all of its advantages, and it really was not on our radar (price probably is a factor, but the product is well worth it to our view). Without Bruce's advice, we probably would not have considered cork flooring as an option. Floors of Distinction has a large collection of samples and exhibits of cork products. They can show you pictures of cork trees and how the cork is harvested. (Did I mention that cork is a "green" renewable product, as well). Bruce came to our home and took precise measurements. He went over every element of the work in detail (surface preparation, underlayment, dealing with heat registers and sewer clean out, etc.). The work was completed in two days, to perfection, no problems, which stood in contrast to the work being done by the other contractors. Turn key, worry free. We can recommend Floors of Distinction without any hesitation whatsoever.
