The Central Air Conditioner wasn't cooling and Standard Heating and AC diagnosed a bad part which they had previously replaced. They replaced the bad part again under warranty no questions asked. I have nothing but the highest recommendations for them.

Our central air conditioner broke down on the hottest day of the month. I contacted Rumpca Services that evening, and by the time I woke up the next morning, I had a reply in my email from Jason and Jeff was out within hours to provide a detailed estimate. All of the other providers I had contacted for an estimate were days, if not weeks, out from being able to even bid on the job, so I accepted the Rumpca's bid on the spot, which based on my research seemed right in line with what I expected to pay. We scheduled the work for a couple of days later, but because of unexpected circumstances at another job, the crew was able to install the unit at my place the next day. What I initially expected could take weeks, was wrapped up in less than 48 hours thanks to the great team at Rumpca. The Lennox air conditioner that they installed is doing a great job cooling the place, and the quality work and the cleanliness of the team exceeded my expectations. Very impressive

Aerostar Heating & Air

I am very impressed with Aerostar's whole package! Nathan Wentland was over the same afternoon to see what my problem was, the A-coil in my 28 year old central air unit was leaking into the furnace and onto the floor. Nathan explained that, as I had anticipated, I needed to replace the unit, he could have repaired it.. however the unit was 28 years old and it was just time. The young men were here promptly at 8am ... they were very tidy (no mess left over!!!) Nate even fixed my dryer vent problem! Thanks Nate! The work was done as Nate and I had discussed, no suprises or last minute this or that needing to be added to the cost. The guys were done by 12:30pm , vacuumed, the old unit gone, and he put in an air filter unti that I needed!!! All around a great experience!! I will call the guys at Aerostar for more work that I may need in the future. GREAT GUYS AT AEROSTAR !!! They know what they are doing and they cared about what I wanted and cared about my home

Of the companies we looked at Ditter and one other company stood out. Ditter was competitive in every way, but in the middle of a heat wave the other company was able to install the a/c a week earlier.

Unit threw the circuit breaker and wouldn't reset. After technician reset the air conditioner, he tested everything out to see what caused the breaker to trip. He was unable to find the root cause. However, there was a relay in the furnace that was stuck and was causing the fan to run nonstop. Relay was replaced and technician said I would not be charged a diagnostic charge if the air conditioner replicates its problem and they need to make another service call

Be very wary about this company. They came out to give me a bid for a new central air conditioning unit and told me I needed to have my furnace replaced because the new air conditioning coil would not fit. When he mentioned the new furnace I abruptly ended the conversation and thanked him for stopping by. After he left I called their office and asked what type of units they sold and was told Lennox. I had two other companies give me bids for Lennox air units and neither mentioned an issue with the coil not fitting properly. His office had him call me back after he left and he still insisted I needed a new furnace. He also recommended a larger unit than I needed. The other two companies recommended a 13 seer unit and this guy recommended a 15 or 16 seer unit because he said the smaller units were of lesser quality. Yet the other companies are offering a 10 year warranty on all parts and labor. So I don't think he is correct. He said the smaller coil was going to be a cheap knock off. I don't know if they are dishonest or incompetent but I don't trust them

Snelling Heating Cooling Electrical

I called on a Monday morning after my central air conditioning failed on a Sunday. A service tech came out promptly on Monday and determined the compressor had failed and we needed a new system. A sales rep. came a few hours later with information and prepared an estimate. They were able to arrange for an installation the next day, which we appreciated as it was very hot and humid. They deducted the charge from the service call from the price of the new system. All of the reps. and techs were very polite and professional. The techs installed the system in a few hours. They were careful in my home and cleaned everything up. Very professional and courteous service. I appreciate the fact that Snelling does not use subcontractors, only their own employees

Northern's One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning
5.0
We called Northern Heating and A/C after having problems with the company who installed our new furnace last year (see report on Hoffman Heating and A/C). Of course it was the hottest week of the year when our A/C went out. We were given a date when the new air conditioner could be installed, and the owner even stopped by the day before installation to make sure there wouldn't be any surprises. He recommended a smaller A/C than Hoffman and said an air conditioner that is too big for a house can cause problems. Of course that meant an even better price than the original bid. They arrived as promised and did a great job. The house feels cooler than it has in years

Prior Lake Heating & A/C

During the first 100 degree heat wave of the year late spring, our A/C unit went out. All HVAC companies were backed up with service calls and installing new AC units. Some places wouldn't even call us back and others were booked out months. We got a couple bids from highly rated HVAC places, and although they were all about the same price (within a few hundred dollars), we liked PLH&AC's quote the best because they sell American Standard units (made in same factory as Trane and are virtually identical) and the unit had more features than a similar basic Carrier 13 SEER unit, which was a similar price. We also like that the owner, Dean, didn't try to upsell us on features we didn't need and we liked that he does the install along with his long time technician, Scott. Dean does the outside work, and Scott does the inside work due to his experience and expertise in working with duct work. They also offered a longer warranty on labor than the other companies we got bids from. They offered a 5 year labor warranty and 10 years on the parts. They could fit us into their schedule within a couple weeks, so we decided to hire them for the job. Dean was good at keeping in touch and communicating when they would arrive for the install and they were on time for both the estimate and the install. They did a great job installing the unit and did extra things for no extra charge -- things related to the duct work that the other people we got bids from were not including and didn't notice. We also found out that PLH&AC included many extra things in their price that we didn't realize we were getting, such as a case for the evaporator coil and a base for the unit to sit on. Their work was very neat, and our furnace ductwork with all the drain hoses was redone and look much nicer now. They also did little thinks, like zip tied the drain hoses to the drain cover so they'd stay in place, which most places wouldn't do, and they cleaned up after themselves very nicely. All in all we are super pleased with our new AC unit, which works very well. We'd hire them again mainly due to their knowledge and experience (you don't have a new technician doing the intall -- you have people with years of experience including the owner), price and that they were easy to work with, didn't upsell us on unnecessary things -- and actually undersold what all was included in their estimate. We'd highly recommend PLH&AC and plan to use them when we have HVAC needs in the future

Excellent! Our salesperson was very patient. He explained the various options, costs, rebates, etc. very clearly. The installation team came on date scheduled. They were knowledgeable, respectful, did not curse, or have any negative behaviors. They took time to answer my numerous questions. Each person we worked with (including the office) was very professional

Requested a quote on an air conditioner replacement. Sales tech came out in a few days, and appeared to be very knowledgeable. The problem was he was intent on selling a heating and cooling system. He stated the cold air return was undersize, one of the worst he had seen. Many other problems with my current furnace. I informed him that the time was not right for me to replace the system. Nevertheless, he left leaving a system quote. I called later advising I was not buying a system, and set up an appointment for an air conditioner only quote. He did come out again and gave me a quote. He was the highest of four quotes

Overall it went fine. AC unit is old and company may be defunct at this time. Had to order new part direct from manufacturer which took long than expected. Renee did a great job keeping me informed of the progress of the part shipment and giving me options for fixing and possibly replacing our AC. When the part did arrive, David did a fantastic job with the install! He had to work outside in sporadic rain and oppressive heat and humidity to get the job done. He did so without any complaint and a smile on his face. Turns out the compressor didn't fit exactly as the old one did and he had to work some copper tubing around it so it would work correctly. Our house was cooled down and comfortable again that night. Other than the trouble with the manufacturer, the entire staff was helpful, knowledgable, polite and communicated with us every step of the way

S & R Heating, Cooling & Appliance Repair

We have a yearly service agreement with Scott. On this visit, he serviced the furnace and air exchanger. He will come back in the spring to service the central a/c - the $300 includes that future visit. Scott explained that our furnace will need replacement in the next few years. This will be less than the expected lifetime of the furnace, but it suffered from standing in water through the spring just after the house was built (due to problems the builder refused to address; don't get me started). Scott has been helping us nurse the furnace along for the past 15 years with minor, less costly repairs. Also, shortly before the furnace work, he did a major repair to our washing machine. Scott has been our repairman for furnace/HVAC through two houses and more than 20 years. We trust his work, and because of our confidence in him we've tended to use him for any and all repairs we can persuade him to do, not just furnace work
Jared and Jeff were extremely professional and polite. They were very efficient and effective. The work performed exceeded anything I would have expected. I would highly recommend this company to anyone. They were very personable and funny...great personalities!
Air conditioner stopped cooling and ice started forming outside. Called Stafford at 4:30pm and they were on-site at 9:00am the next morning. Ran diagnostics and serviced the unit. They added some coolant and we changed the air filter. Problem solved. They were prompt, professional. Would recommend and would call them again
The work was completed on time and it was a quality installation. I would definitely classify them as a reputable company because of the quality of their installers and the quality of the brands they carry. Their service was great and I have no complaints.
I had four estimates for my project given the high anticipated cost factor. The sales guy with Ray Welter was courteous and provided quick follow-up phone calls to my questions. I appreciated that. I focused my search on Carrier, Trane and Lennox dealers and their second highest efficiency models. While I did find another dealer that had a lower overall price for similar equipment, I opted for Ray Welter due to a generally competitive price, long time in business and good reputation in the local area and a positive experience with sales. The installation process went well with no unforeseen issues. The crew were pleasant, courteous and efficient. When I experienced a minor issue the day after installation, one of install supervisors came back to resolve it and also provided an "Intro 101" orientation to my new equipment as well. Lastly, the Utility company consumer rebates were processed quickly. The new equipment worked well during the initial winter heating season and the replacement whole house humidifier was far more effective than the prior model we had, We've not used the AC yet, other than a brief short test right after the install last fall. All in all, a job well done. I would recommend the company to others
I was very pleased with HVAC Doctor. Very professional. Great customer service, from first contact over the phone, the estimate and installation of our new air conditioning unit. Very knowledgeable. Employees were very respectful of my home. Quiet and courteous as they installed the air conditioner. Will definitely have them do work for me again
Found an unsafe crack in the heat exchanger on one furnace, which required it to be red-tagged. Never want to replace a furnace, but great to know when it’s dangerous. Replacement firm confirmed diagnosis. Best $59 we ever spent.
Mike came as scheduled by phone a few days before, called when they were on the way. He had explained the rates by phone, letting me know that it might be possible the cost would go up if the ducts were bad (which I knew they would be) to do the best job. When he arrived, he took photos showing me the built-up dirt and explained that to do the best cleaning, they would start at each opening using a rotary brush and whip, not just air. I authorized the work, because our house is large, Mike called his next customer to see if it would work for them to come a little later (good customer service). They were here over 3 hours; the after photos were amazing and even though it got a bit costly, I am so happy to be rid of all that 'stuff' in the duct work - you pay for what you get
My husband and I installed an extra lint filter for our dryer because it vents outside right onto our air conditioner. We discovered our air conditioner was caked with lint so we tried to remedy the situation with an extra lint filter in the laundry room--mounted on the wall. Unfortunately, the lint filter leaked air, and so we threw up our hands and called in an expert. Mountain Duct Cleaning removed the extra lint filter, installed a new duct, and cleaned the laundry duct. They also spent time discussing with me our options as regards our dryer venting outside right on our air conditioner which helped us decide what we are going to do. Matt was prompt in responding to my calls, and he answered all my questions. Matt and Rick arrived on time, and got the job done within 1/2 hour. They really care about their work which I really appreciated. They did an excellent job
My Samsung Refrigerator's door alarm would not stop ringing. Samsung repair could not fix it. Looking at reviews, I found We Care. I called Dan and explained to him the problem. He could not come that day but could look at it the next morning. Dan was here for 20 minutes and fixed my refrigerator that Samsung could not repair. Dan has a great work ethic, is fair, on time and knowledgeable. I will call him first for any repairs that I need
Our issue this summer arose when our AC stopped cooling when it was 95 degrees outside. Adam came to our home at 7:00 at night for no additional cost. He added Freon, but told me we had a substantial crack in the unit and that it may or may not work. Two days later, we were back to a hot house. I called Adam and they came back to give us guidance on what to do. Our furnace was also 18 years old, and as I learned, the size of the old furnace impacts the size of the coils for the new AC unit (the old furnaces are too tall and limit the size of the coils that can be used - which means that the air will not be distributed as effectively throughout your home). Adam quoted me a price on a new Carrier furnace and AC unit. Due to the substantial costs associated, we got two additional bids. The other two companies gave us the same advice that Adam did, but the costs were more than his quote. Adam and team arrived the next AM and were very respectful of our family and home. Everyone covered their shoes each time they came in and drop clothes were placed to further protect our wood floors and carpeting. They finished the job very efficiently and continually checked in with me to provide updates on the status of the job. Two weeks later, my mother's AC stopped cooling. This was on a Sat. I called Adam and he was over there within hours, again for no extra cost on a Saturday. This team was one of the most effective service and repair teams I have ever dealt with. I will recommend them to anyone who asks. If there was an option to give them 6 stars, I would give them that!
I can't really speak to the quality of the work yet - I haven't really noticed a difference. They guys who did the work were perfectly nice. I used this company because they were on the approved list for the insulation rebate. They were the most expensive quote I received, but with the rebate, I made it work. It took a long time to get the work scheduled, I took the day off work when the date came - it was confirmed (twice) then cancelled, day of (for bad weather that was in the forecast). Needless to day I was really upset. When the bill came, I asked for the credit card charges (yes, they do that) to be waived for the cost & inconvenience the cancelled appointment cost me, but was denied
It was a dark and cold October morning, the furnace was not working. I found a problem and reset the thermo switch, furnace started working again. When I got the manual out, I also noticed that the furnace was 22 years old, time to look for a new one. I called several vendors for an appointment for a quote, most put me off for a 2-3 days. Mike, from Heating and Cooling 2, said how about tomorrow. He showed up promptly, and had several options to us by the end of the day. Told us it would be about 2 weeks for install. After a few phone calls to Mike, we chose our options. Dan called the next day and we scheduled our install date. That weekend the furnace quit again and kept shutting down. Called for service on Saturday, Vince got back to us quickly and said our heat exchanger was bad, and we need to shut the furnace down and see if the install date can be moved forward. Emailed Mike, who promptly got back to us said he emailed Dan who would get back to us on Monday about a reschedule. Monday morning Dan called early, while I was still in the shower, to say Brad and Brian would be at our house about 9:30 a.m. to do the install. Brad and Brian were very professional and worked hard to get the new furnace up and running. Brad took time to answer all my questions and when there was an unexpected issue with the install he consulted me about the options. The air-conditioning unit was not in stock because of the early furnace installation. The majority of the work was done during the furnace installation, running lines and electrical. When the unit arrived, Dan called to schedule the work. Nathan, who came and completed the job, was also very competent and professional. They sent in the required paperwork for the rebates to the vendors, relieving us of that task. Also the form for the tax credit was sent promply. All the employees who I have contacted at the company have been friendly, & helpful, willing to answer my questions or direct me to someone who can. I would highly recommend “Heating & Cooling 2” to anyone needing HVAC work
I had a few companies come out to quote AC and Humidifier installation for my house. Rhod from DuctWorks was the first one to come out, and right away I felt comfortable with him because he looked at everything from inside to outside. He spent a lot of time explaining everything he needed to tell me and answering questions that I had. He took the time to measure the rooms in my house and the windows to ensure I was getting the correct sized unit. I had some smaller ducts in the basement by the furnace and he explained why they should be bigger and how they could fix the problem. I had one other company come out, and the guy was here for about 6 minutes. He already knew what he was going to sell me and didn't even need to see the basement or outside. He also kept forgetting that I wanted a humidifier. And, they were about $200 more than DuctWorks. Needless to say, Rhod impressed me far more than the other company. On the day of the installation, Josh and Brian (and one other guy that I didn't get to meet) came out on time and got to work right away. They gave me the duct work that I needed, the AC, and the humidifier. They cleaned up when they were done, and everything looks very nice and professionally done. After that, Josh went around and explained everything about the new units that were installed, including a new furnace filter location that is a pull out drawer with a bigger filter. That will save me money during the winter because I only need one filter per season. Thanks, DuctWorks for a job well done!!! I will recommend you to anyone who needs any work that you perform for sure!

We could not have asked for a better experience from start to finish! We knew our air conditioner was on its last legs going into the summer but we held out to squeeze every bit of life it had left. We thought we had really done a number on ourselves when it completely stopped working during the ultra hot stretch we had during the first part of July. We called Pronto based on the Angie's List reviews and were pleasantly surprised that they were able to have a technician out the next day. He was professional and explained our options in a way that was easy to understand. We decided to have them replace our A/C without even getting a second quote. The technician originally told us it would be two days before they could be out to install the new unit, but we were thrilled with this since the heat was extreme and we knew all the HVAC companies in town were extremely busy. The technician even offered to try a short term fix on our condenser free of charge in the hopes it may make our house somewhat bearable until they installed the new one. A couple of hours after he finished his adjustment, the scheduler called us back to ask if we would be interested in having our A/C fixed the next morning- on the 4th of July! He explained that their company was so busy, they had decided to offer extra hours to their service people who wanted to work the holiday. Of course this was tempting, but we wondered how much extra that would be. We were ecstatic when they said it would not cost us anything extra. Long story short, they came out the next day, on time, did an outstanding job in insane heat and even did customization at no extra charge to make everything simpatico with our ancient furnace and duct work. They were quiet, polite, professional and efficient and we were cool and comfortable within an hour. We were so happy with our experience we even posted about it on Facebook so our friends would have the name of a good company if they needed HVAC work
It was late afternoon on THE hottest day of the year and our 18 year-old air conditioner literally blew up. We called Standard, told them we were in a "no cool" situation and they sent their sales representative over the very next morning. He was incredibly knowledgeable and we were able to make the decision on our new unit within 45 minutes. The new air conditioner was installed 24 hours after we made our purchase decision. So, within 48 hours of our initial call, we had central air conditioning again

I AM NOT 100% PLEASED WITH THE INSTALLATION CREW. HOWEVER, THE SALESMAN, DAVE JOHNSON, IS EXCELLENT. HE INSPECTED MY HOUSE CAREFULLY AND SUGGESTED MEANS TO CORRECT ANY PROBLEMS OF PREVIOUS INSTALLATION. HE THEN INSPECTED THE HOUSE AFTER THE NEW INSTALLATION, AND CALLED BACK HIS INSTALLATION CREW TO ENSURE THE INSTALLATION IS PERFECT.
