They took the glass front off the fireplace to clean it. They looked for the problem with the ignition or remote. The problem was a loose connection, which they tightened. The inside of the fireplace was cleaned, the rock wool was replaced, the unit was rechecked and then the glass cover was installed. Everything was neat, orderly and professional

Firespaces put in a new wood burning stove insert, A Vermont Castings Montpelier. I had a great experience from the first visit and the installation. I am a person with several question and I want to know all the options. Firespaces sure kept up with me in that respect. The also put in a stainless steel liner in my chimney. The two men that did the job, Norm and I believe it was Steve, were very friendly. I trusted them and even left the house while they finished the job. They were very careful in what they did and they left things clean. I had questions even after the install, which I called Firespaces and Donna helped me through those questions. She is also very knowledgeable about the benefits of different types of fireplace inserts. Anyway, the service was great and the fireplace looks great. They even pushed to get the installation in before Christmas. Firespaces was fulfilling, the process was refreshing especially when I demand really great service in these harder economic times

Visited the showroom after having been to several others and done much research online. I learned a lot from Joe W., the owner and he steered me toward the right decision very quickly. It was overall a much more pleasant sales experience than I had with the competitors who either were unresponsive, uninformative, or who turned us off with gimmicks and sales pressure tactics. Joe was professional, trustworthy and very responsive - came to the house personally within a few days of my first visit to measure and confirm the appropriateness of our choice. Installation was problematic and I was not impressed with the sub they used. They made it right eventually and overall I think we did well to go with All Seasons

We chose Jack Pixley Sweeps because they have provided chimney cleaning and repair services for us in the past and had outstanding customer reviews. The estimate was within our budget, and the explanation of what the insert would look like and how it would be installed was clear. They handled scheduling the electrician and plumber needed to install the electrical outlet and gas line needed for the insert. The insert installation took two visits instead of one because of a communication issue with our city's building inspector, but overall it went smoothly and the installation crew left the work area immaculate. THE SERVICEMAN DETERMINED THAT THE EXHAUST DUCT WAS PLUGGED, BUT AN INSTALLER WOULD NEED TO COMPLETE THE JOB BY REPLACING THE DUCTING, AND SOMEONE WOULD CALL ME TO SCHEDULE THE WORK. NOBODY EVER CALLED - IT TOOK REPEATED CALLS TO THE OFFICE TO SCHEDULE AN INSTALLER. THE MORNING HE WAS SCHEDULED TO DO THE WORK, HE CALLED TO RE-SCHEDULE. THE SECOND TIME HE CALLED TO SAY HE WOULD BE LATE. THE WORK FINALLY DID GET DONE, ALTHOUGH THE TRIM ON THE FRONT OF THE INSERT WASN'T REPLACED CORRECTLY

We called about our fireplace because it was the only source of heat in our home since our furnace failed. I left a message and they called back in about 1 hour. They came the next day as they promised. The gentleman that did the work disassembled the fireplace to get to the fan which he determined was faulty. He called to find a new fan, had a colleague pick it up from a wholesaler so that he was able to return in two days time. He returned, installed the fan and did a through cleaning. The fireplace is better now than when it was first installed. I would recommend this company to anyone. They are/were great

The old one was inoperable because you couldn't replace the chimney. The quality is beautiful. We have worked with them in the past when we had a wood-burning fireplace. They are very reliable and did a great job. They even stand behind all of their work and recommend we have a professional clean it once a year to prevent creating any issues. They're really in touch people and provide great service. They even call you when they're on their way

Everyone was great, but I am concerned about one detail. I was told there might be a crack in the heat exchanger. A second person was sent out from Residential who confirmed the crack, "red tagged" the furnace and then gave an estimate on furnace replacement. For good measure I also called CenterPoint Energy out to take a look (since I have Service Plus). CenterPoint said that, while the furnace was old and would eventually need replacement, there was no crack and removed the red tag. Now, that's a bit disconcerting. Makes me think that while the service seemed good, I'll likely not use Residential again

Great. During the check Deacon and Dan noticed that i had a small gas leak on the fireplace regulator. They set up a appt to have it fixed for me before they left. They also checked things like age of carbon monoxide alarms etc. Extremely nice and helpful. Have used them for over 10 years, they installed my new furnace/air system last year

We were in a hurry to get started and Dan was able to schedule the project to start three days after we closed. The work involved replacing the majority of the carpet with laminate wood flooring in the living room, kitchen and dining area. We also had the master bathroom completely gutted and redone with new cabinetry, granite counter tops, new custom built shower, new bath tub, and stone flooring and tile. All light fixtures in kitchen, dining area and office were replaced along with one fixture upstairs. The townhome had glass railing panels going upstairs that they replaced with a beautiful custom rod-iron railing. We also had to replace the Polybutylene plumbing in the townhome (which wasn't something we were counting on) and they took care of all of that with the plumber as well as repairing all of the holes that had to be made in the walls/ceilings throught the whole townhouse. The old fireplace on the main level was redone with stone as well as a new fireplace that was installed in our lower level. Through out this whole process, Dan, Dave, Brittney and Kyle kept us updated daily on what they were going to be working on the next day, what the schedule was going forward and any problems they encountered. This team is the best I have ever worked with on any type of home project and I have done many with various different contractors! They are genuinely great people and a pleasure to work with. Home renovations are never much fun, but everyone at Country Creek Builders made every day a pleasure even though there was a lot of construction being done! Their craftmanship and quality of their work was above our expectations and we love everything that was done. I can't compliment them enough on a job well done! We love it and we are so happy with the results

I can't really speak to the quality of the work yet - I haven't really noticed a difference. They guys who did the work were perfectly nice. I used this company because they were on the approved list for the insulation rebate. They were the most expensive quote I received, but with the rebate, I made it work. It took a long time to get the work scheduled, I took the day off work when the date came - it was confirmed (twice) then cancelled, day of (for bad weather that was in the forecast). Needless to day I was really upset. When the bill came, I asked for the credit card charges (yes, they do that) to be waived for the cost & inconvenience the cancelled appointment cost me, but was denied

We recently added new countertops as part of an overall kitchen remodel. We initially visited Universal Stone in late March after the place was highly recommended by one of the kitchen contractors we considered. Universal's great indoor showroom in Shakopee showcases a nice assortment of full slabs on display. It makes the selection process far easier, versus looking at smaller samples. We worked with Kelly in the Sales Department, who was very friendly, cooperative and informative. She provided a quote to us shortly after our initial visit and was very responsive in all subsequent communication. As our remodel didn't commence until late August, we continued to look at a few other places over the summer. We eventually returned to Universal and made our final selection. The gentleman who stopped out for the measurement was very efficient and pleasant. After payment was received, the fabrication of our countertops was prompt and the full installation occurred within two weeks. The Install crew were polite and skilled. There were no issues with the install whatsoever. We opted for the Black Pearl Granite for the primary, larger countertop and the Invictus Quartzite countertop for a second free standing smaller cabinet. Once installed, both countertops looked great. I highly recommend Universal. They've got a nice product selection and their team provided solid customer service. Lastly, we found their overall pricing structure to be affordable and competitive. A job well done. Thanks for the great work

We were on the edge of the geographic area where Building Renewal works. We had gotten their name from Angie's List. We are so happy they decided to take on our project. We couldn't be happier with the outcome. In addition, Building Renewal and all of their subs were amazing. Greg, the owner, is great at communicating. From bids to final invoice, everything is laid out and details and pricing are broken down. When you call, he is always responsive. You also feel like you are his only client in the time and attention he gives you. Of course, you aren't, but you never feel like you are bothering him. He provides a schedule of who will be there on which days and what they will be working on. Adam was the project manager and he was equally responsive. Subs included a mason, plumber, tiler, electrician, carpet installer, custom cabinet maker, and overall construction professionals. Greg makes sure that you are satisfied with the work. If there is an issue, he fixes it. He is everything you hope for in a contractor. In addition, when the work is complete, they provide an outstanding cleaner who cleans every room in the project-including the windows. All the subs did excellent work. There are three, however, who deserve special recognition: Duane and Jeff from D & D Construction did everything from deconstruction to door and window installation to spray foam insulation to flawlessly changing out two of the mahogany panels. True artists. The other artist is Chad from McChesney Cabinets. Greg and Chad designed the fireplace surround. The room is small and the house has settled so corners are not perfect 90 degree angles. It took three trips to measure, discuss design, remeasure, and measure again. The result is beautiful. Chad also did all custom cabinets for the mud room, including a desk, files, lots of storage, and shoe cubbies. Greg is great to work with. He listens to your design ideas and offers things you would not have thought of. It was a good partnership

Kurt, the contractor, subsequently suggested the additional work, and because of his excellent record and the appeal of having the dusty, messy work done prior to moving in - not to mention his excellent sales ability - we decided to add the additional work he recommended. The work was completed when we arrived in the area, and we were able to move into our clean, updated new home. We were highly pleased with the quality of the work. Note: The cost was greater than the original estimate because we kept adding work to the original scope of work
