LAKE MINNETONKA MOTORSPORTS
1.0
My whole experience with Minnetonka Motorsports was horrible. I will never recommend them to anyone. Why: Once you purchase the dock, all support and help is gone. If you have issues with your order, get ready for phone calls and emails. Make sure you have written documentation. I have multiple emails and voice messages trying to get responses. They don't seem to care once they get their money. In addition, they tried to raise price on me so I would live with what I had versus switching it out for what I thought I was getting. Don't count on the Manufacturers help either. STORY: I purchased a Dock from them because at the time they were the only ones that sold FLOE docks (that has since changed). I had them come out and help with our unique dock needs and all the communication following the onsite was on the phone. Those that do research will know that the FLOE's Dock design eliminates the poles on the top dock surface and allows you to use a socket wrench to raise and lower your dock without going into the water. Each dock section has holes where you can take off the cap and use a socket wrench to raise\lower the dock. Well I received my order and one of the dock sections we received didn't have the socket hole on both ends, just one end, which would mean I would have to go into water to raise it. Defeats the whole design purpose. I called Pat and told him the situation and concern. He advised it would take 2 minutes to raise and lower and shouldnt be an issue. I told him, well I don't want to get it in the water and regret it. Maybe we should switch it out now. He said no worries, it'll take a few minutes and if you don't like it we'll change it out and just pay the difference. It's more money to have those sockets on the dock. I decided well, I already paid another company to install the dock (Minnetonka Does NOT install) and to change it out wouldnt be easy, so 2 minutes a year, no big deal....WRONG So, the water level went up a lot. I needed to raise my dock. Our setup consists of a ramp going to that section that was missing the sockets on one end and it literally took me over an hour to raise it. I had to have a friend come help because it was so heavy to lift and tighten and I was getting tired of swimming underneath and back while holding dock up. Due to the tension, I could only raise it barely a quarter inch on one side, swim under, do the same, etc. This was not going to work long term especially with the water levels on our lake raising and lowering so often. I left Pat messages and numerous emails with no return. Finally once he talked to me again, he quoted me an astronomical amount and delivery to swap the pieces. He was basically trying to force me to stay with what I had by raising the price. How did the price go up by 2.5X? This went on for weeks and weeks. Finally, after numerous emails and phone calls Pat agreed to normal price and did resolve it. He came and switched out the pieces. I have yet to use it because by the time we did this, it was November!! A whole summer of work to get this resolved. CONCLUSION: The lack of returned phone calls, the price increase, bad support, I would say look at another company for a dock

Jack came out shortly after I contacted him for a bid on replacing the decking my two boat docks. After accepting the bid Jack and his son came out a week later and started the work. It was done in a day and the new decking looks great and best of all they are now safe.

Walks On Water Inc

There was no charge for the repair work because we bought the dock from them and they stood behind their product. They were very reasonably or competitively priced. I have had an occasion to deal with half a dozen of the people that worked there and all of them have been most helpful.

I called Chris on Saturday morning and he replied to me by email and with a phone call within 5 hours. We scheduled the install for Wednesday at 9 am. He was right on time and had my dock installed within 2 hours. They also carried my paddle boat from my garage out to the lake and did not charge me an extra fee

Dock builders live and die on big jobs for marinas yacht clubs etc. Trying to get them interested in a small residential application with a shoestring budget is very difficult. Joe was extremely accommodating. He looked at the job with me and worked strategies to cut the cost. He cut the canopy from a much larger used one he had in inventory. He heavily discounted the light brown poly deck sections from slow inventory. Our spot is shady, but most people don't want that color because it is too hot for barefoot swimmers. The lift is new. Joe's partner and three helpers installed it a week after I ordered it, in two hours time. They never asked for a deposit or credit card and simply mailed me an invoice a week later. We love the dock and are now shopping for a larger boat to upgrade our electric powered pedal boat. Another major dock company returned my call two weeks after the installation was complete

Advanced Docks & Lifts

The job went very well. He's creative in his solutions to things. He is honest and he does what he says he is going to do. I would definitely go back to him and probably buy a jet ski from him. I like the guy and he is a nice guy. I have never taken my car to him before. He does cars and he does boat engines too. He is a good guy and he has been in business for quite a while. He is probably the best in the area. He is a good mechanic as well as he owns a joint. He is a good salesman and mechanic and he is an all around kind of person. He is really going to get more business from me

Niccum Docks Inc

Niccum was recommended by my neighbor, and I could see they had done quality work, and I called. They asked me to send photos, and I did. I did not hear from them for weeks, was promised a bid right away when I called them again, and finally I was told by email that I should look for another dock company as they didn't have any time to do my work. It has cost me nearly four weeks to get to this point, and Now have to find someone else to assist us. Very disappointing
Eclipse Painting did a very good job painting my home. Lane and his crew are professional and completed the painting in a timely manner. Would definitely do business with them again!

We had Tim make our railing for our staircase at our cabin. My husband wanted the wood and metal look. Everything went great. So we hired him again for our deck railing. We love both!
They did an excellent job. There were several peices of equipment and he was able to remember everything I requested and did exactly what I asked him. He completed the work in a very timely fashion. I would use him again and will recommend him to others.

First he came out on his own time to give us an estimate and find out what exactly we needed. He built the dock, brought it to our house and installed it. There was a problem with some of the webbing, so he came and repaired it with no extra charge. He has great customer service, returns phone calls, and has a fair price
