Dave is a person that does his work above expectations. The railings were carefully removed from our custom concrete stair curbs in way to minimize damage to the concrete. They were sand blasted and painted by Adrenaline Customs in White Bear Lake. Adrenaline mainly powder coats custom auto parts. So the appearance of railings after they were painted was far beyond what is obtained with the standard paint can spray. To eliminate staining from cement spatter used to reinstall the railings, the area around each post was carefully covered with cardboard cutouts and masking tape. Nice job, Dave

Mark handles everything, is very expert on options, and his bid was roughly 1/2 of a larger HVAC company (who sent a salesperson to bid & who knows who would get to do the actual work). Mark took several heating ducts and re-routed them to be within the joists to prep for a remodel. Job was complicated and dirty and he and his son knocked it out in a couple days. He also fixed another contractor's mistake with our bathroom vent and brought it up code.(now I can finally close out that permit). Highly recommend

"Les Jones Roofing did excellent work for us. The circumstances were unusual. We hired them for a job that was beyond our abilities, but too small to interest any of the other companies we contacted: to fix a gap in our house’s fascia that could have allowed insects or rodents to nest inside. A power line connects to our house near the gap in the fascia, so Les Jones would have to coordinate with the electric company to shut off power during the repair (a “line drop”). This coordination proved difficult for many months. On several occasions, Les Jones crews showed up on the day of the scheduled line drop, but the electric company had not shut off power, making the planned repair impossible. Nevertheless, the crews continued to do useful work when they showed up, including new tasks that we tacked on. In addition to cutting and painting the wood that they planned to use to repair the fascia, Les Jones teams fixed some small holes in our roof that our home inspector had noticed, and patched up a decorative finial on our roofline that had become damaged by snow after we’d signed the contract to fix the fascia. Throughout it all, the Les Jones representatives we dealt with in person, via email, and over the phone were consistently professional and friendly, even in very frustrating situations. Finally, the electric company came through on the scheduled day with the promised line drop, the weather cooperated, and the Les Jones crew fixed the fascia. The bill we received at the end of this unusual project was reasonable and contained no surprises. On the basis of this experience, we would definitely hire Les Jones Roofing again!

"After dealing with ice dams on our previous home, we did some research and decided that we would like to invest in a metal roof when we moved into our new home. We moved this summer and knew at our inspection that the house had previous ice dam damage and a very old asphalt roof. We got three quotes, and Kaufman was in line with the other companies, however a tad more expensive. We went with Kaufman due to the excellent reviews and were not disappointed. The crew that installed the roof was incredible. They were extremely proficient and hard-working. The time they spent detailing out each and every cut was extremely evident, and the end result looks incredible. Gutters came a few weeks later, and that crew also did a wonderful job. When it comes to metal roofing, the process was a bit murky for us as it's not super common and not something we've dealt with before. A couple things we learned to keep in mind: 1. Be very detailed in reading each line of your estimate. There were a couple errors on ours that were easily corrected, but definitely something you want to feel secure about before signing the dotted line. 2. Take care in selecting the metal color for your roof, and do some extra digging. There was a lot of self-driven discovery on the metal fabricators website, and the web preview isn't 100% accurate to the color we see in real life. We're only a few months in, but we are very pleased with this roof and our gutters. It's definitely an investment, but our hope is that this is our roof for life. It looks great, and more importantly, it seems to be a sound and secure product. We would definitely recommend Kaufman, without hesitation.

"Mark was fantastic. When he gave his estimate, he came up with a detailed plan which was mindful of not only my current heating/cooling needs, but allowed for expansion when the basement was refinished. His solution removed head clearance issues in the main living space and now allow for a spacious bathroom remodel. Between the estimate and getting the work done, I realized some of my measurements were off, and he was prompt in responding to making modifications. He also promptly answered questions and concerns that arose from a competing bid. While doing the work, he took the time to clean up a few other rough spots in other ducts and re-secured parts of the trunk just above my furnace. Both these minor repairs and the additional material needed for the new measurements were completed without any increase in the cost. Mark was my first contractor hired via Angie's list. He was knowledgeable, honest, and a pleasure to work with.

"Dave and I played a bit of phone tag to get to the time when we could meet and quote. There were many designs I liked from his collection but I finally narrowed it down to one. He broke out the bit of fancy-ness so I could compare with a more bare bones look. I chose the fancier one. I had a written quote from another firm who didn't meet with me personally but the reviews of Shegstad sold me on this firm. He had them installed within a week and they are beautiful.

"Company representative responded promptly to my phone call and also arrived to my home on schedule. The gentleman was courteous, but only modestly personable or informative. I was referred to this company by a friend who suggested that it was one of the more established dealers of Lennox equipment.. As a point of background information, I had four companies come to my home to provide estimates. Sedgwick by far provided the highest priced bid for a comparable high efficiency furnace and similar SEER rated AC unit. Their price was far above the next competitor. This, in and of itself, probably disqualified the company from my business, The sales guy also had no brochures to leave me, and the one page summary sheet provided with pricing, discounts, etc, was filled out in a sloppy manner that made for a less than professional final presentation and sales document for a customer to review and well understand. I mentioned to the sales guy that I was a definite buyer who was looking to have equipment installed within 30 days and told him to feel free to follow up with me if he wanted to. (While most consumers don't like excessive pesky sales follow-up, it's certainly acceptable in my opinion to follow-up at least one time). Sedgwick apparently had enough other business to pursue and made no effort whatsoever at additional follow-up with me.
