  They come and fix anything for free for their members. They're inexpensive. They send someone out right away. The worker they sent out was super nice, fast and polite. I was impressed with him.

  They are quick to respond and on time if I have a problem. They call me when it's time to do maintenance and schedule a visit. It took about 20 minutes to a half hour to inspect. Left area clean. Tech was polite.

  I bought a 20 year old home last year. The buyer was to pay for a home warranty plan, and the closing company had lined up some other home warranty company. I looked at reviews on them, and they were terrible. So, I found these guys with an A rating on Angieslist and switched it to them. It was a tiny bit more expensive, but home warranty programs generally have a bad reputation and the positive reviews on these guys made it seem worth it. Basically, you call the number and file a claim over the phone, they give you a list of people in your area that they can pay directly (although you can use whomever you want as long as you get the dollar amount approved first and are willing to be reimbursed after paying the repair guy). Super easy. They fixed my furnace twice, which was a couple hundred bucks each time. And, they replaced my dishwasher motor and control panel, which worked out to $450. They have limits on what they will pay to fix, and if they won't fix it, they'll give you money towards a new appliance. I believe it would have only been $100-200 towards a new dishwasher, so it would have been cheaper for them to just refuse to repair mine. But, the person on the phone talked to a manager, and they paid the full amount to have it fixed which they contractually were not required to do. These guys are awesome. If you're buying a home warranty or buying a house and the seller is paying, go with these guys. Very happyshow more

  WE'VE HAD TO CALL ON THEM SEVERAL TIMES FOR APPLIANCES THAT WENT OUT. IT DEPENDS ON YOUR CONTRACT, BUT WE HAD A $100 DEDUCTIBLE PER ISSUE. FOR THE MOST PART THEY WERE OK TO WORK WITH, BUT I WOULD GIVE THEM ANY OUTSTANDING SERVICE AWARDS.   They are a large appliance company. They come out and repair things when they break. I like that It's easy and they're on top of things. Their customer service is very good. My overall experience with them has been good. Their prices are average and the quality is excellent.

  There are pluses and minuses with Complete Appliance Protection. The pluses are they cover the cost of repair and service when you need to get it serviced. Complete Appliance Protection also is extremely responsive if you place a call or an e-mail. Someone answers the phone and initiates a number that they give you to track and authorize the replacement process if it is determined by the repair person. The monthly charges are minimal for the standard protection in exchange of piece of mind. They also do not pry into the shape of the appliance and instead of a waiting period of when they would start accepting claims. The minus is if the appliance is no longer in working condition, then the amount they provide replacing the broken appliance is minimal. There is also a cap at how much Complete Appliance Protection provides in total which is also low if you experience catastrophic failure. That event doesn't happen to an average homeowner but it is something to keep in mind if you bought a short-sale house, foreclosure, or a house where the seller was less pleasant to deal with during the sale of their property. I fell into the last category and I wasn't too sure if the seller would retaliate in some way (luckily he didn't). The waiting period could be a hinderance if you bought a new property because I couldn't tell how new homeowners are covered on day one. So that waiting period may bite you. Now comes the due diligence part on the consumer: If your appliances are not the greatest shape and looks like they will need to be serviced at some point, then forking over some cash may be an option. If your appliances are in relatively good shape, then I'd save the monthly fee and put it towards maintenance yourself and you will get the same effect as CAP. The advantage is a simple determination: If your appliances are in good shape, then the likelihood where multiple will malfunction is small. Therefore, within the same timeframe, one of your appliances will need to be repaired. By putting away your own money, you will cover the same cost of repair work needed. If your appliances do not go out, you will have accrued enough money to buy newer appliances. Lastly, you need to budget this cost into owning a home. If you are not a good at budgeting, then I strongly recommend enrolling with Complete Appliance Protection. That is the main reason why I decided to terminate paying Complete Appliance Protection. The amount of money I am paying them can go towards buying a new appliance or calling the repair person. I also budget my finances to cover for this and if a few things go out, I can easily cover the expense. Terminating payments are also quick, as I only needed to write an e-mail and they cancel service immediately. They accidentally charged me an extra payment but so far they are quick at responding and rectifying the issue. If it correlates to another accidental charge instead of a refund, I will update this review and note this experienceshow more

  I am 85 years old and live alone. My furnace stopped working the evening of January 2, 2021. I called HomeSmart the next morning on January 3 to schedule an appointment and was told it would be approximately two hours for someone to return the call to schedule something (not sure why the woman taking the information could not just schedule an appointment?). After waiting the two hours, I called HomeSmart again and was told that someone did call back from HomeSmart and leave a message, neither of which actually happened (no call, no message; my Xfinity bill can prove it). Another several hours went by and finally I received a call. I told the man who called that I had been waiting for hours to address a non-functioning furnace and his response was that he “just got the information” and "it's not my fault". His tone was rude and belligerent. I told him that we had already contacted some other companies to address the issue but before I finished explaining, he hung up the phone on me. I wanted to ask him what my options were through HomeSmart, but since he had hung up I decided not to deal with him and try to find other options. I was already anxious enough about not having heat in January in Minnesota. While I diligently paid my $55.00 to HomeSmart each and every month, HomeSmart has not complied with its contractual obligations to me. This is disgraceful; why would I (or anyone) continue to pay for such terrible serviceshow more

  Unfortunately, HMS did not honor, what I view as their contractual obligation - to repair a mechanical failure in a pipe during the warranty period. Instead, HMS stated that the pipe had failed due to "corrosion" and that "corrosion" is not a mechanical failure. So, the contractor they sent out walked away with my $100 deductible, and I am left with a hole in my wall and the phone book to use to find a plumber who can repair what HMS chose not toshow more
