  I inherited a grandmother clock my father had sitting his living room for years. I had never seen it run so I wasn’t sure if it worked. Laurie drove out to me in Saint Paul and worked on my clock for an hour trying everything she could think of to get it moving. Unfortunately the clock is dead but she only charged me $25 and gave me an awesome history lesson on clocks while I watched her work. One of the nicest people you will meet; intelligent, caring and so friendly. I highly recommend her services

  My father gave me a mantel clock that his mother had given to her mother. He had no knowledge of any maintenance being done over the years so I started to look for a reputable craftsman. I found a piece in the Star Tribune about the Antique Clock Doc in Elk River (not to be confused with the Clock Depot which is also in Elk River) and decided to take my clock there. <br /> <br /> The Clock Doc spent quite a bit of time with me describing what needed to be done. He was a little bit busy because of the article in the paper, but the clock was ready in about 5 weeks. <br /> <br /> When I returned to pick it up he gave me all kinds of information about the clock's origins and how to operate it including how to wind it, how to make sure it was properly leveled (by listening to the rhythm of the pendulum) and how to set the time (always forward with the minute hand, pausing to allow the chime to strike). He even told me how to safely transport it home. <br /> <br /> The clock is working great--keeping accurate time and we have found that we like the sound of the chimes on the hour and half hour.. <br /> <br /> He told me the clock needed to be oiled every two years (the pendulum swings about 84 million times per year) and that there were 24 spots to oil in my clock. I'll be taking the clock back to him for that service

  I was very impressed with Bill and his team when I brought him my father's old Rolex watch from 1970. I was told by a fancy jewelry store and by Rolex themselves that it could not be fixed. Bill has a guy he works with who can get rare parts for watches. They did an incredible job with the watch. It went from battered to looking brand new. I would definitely recommend their services

  The service went better than I expected. When I called and described the condition of the clock I was told that it might require work in the shop. While I'm sure with some YouTube views I could have figured out how to bring the movement into the shop, an inherited clock my husband's grandfather built for his father was not something I felt comfortable monkeying with so I scheduled the house call. The service call went great. Mike called ahead to confirm the appointment and arrived on the dot-- I guess it would be bad for the clock-repair brand to be late. He was personable and professional while explaining what he was doing, which was wholly fascinating to me. He got the clock running and explained "the care and feeding" it required to keep it that way. He also explained that it would likely need a more significant maintenance down the road that would require a shop visit. Until then, we have a functional clock where once a very large clock-like statue stood. I'm still working on getting it to keep precise time, but I now feel empowered by the brief lesson Mike gave me. I don't think I received the Angie's List discount, but I'm not complaining. I was willing to pay the price of the service call to have it essentially couriered to the shop. Lucky me that Mark was able to get it working within the confines of my dining room. When the comes, I plan to bring it to Blackstone Manor for its overhaul

  The owner of the company arrived at my home on time. He put a few drops of oil into the mantel clock works. No regulation or other work was done, probably because it was not needed. A second pendulum clock needed repair. I was quoted several hundred dollars, with only a one-year warranty. I declined service. Later, I had the clock fixed by another clock shop for less than half the price I was quoted by Clock Depot
