Frank shows up and sells the job, and he's definitely on the high end. It's worth it though. That will probably be the last time you see him. Then his crew leader will introduce himself and figure out the whole project. When, where, why, how and for how long. Very professional and friendly. At the end of the job a few days out, I noticed some plaster was peeling up on the ceiling. Within an hour the guy that is basically the site boss shows up and fixes it all for free. There is a bunch of chips on some of our bookcase shelves and I won't be surprised if he is here and fixing it that some day. Overall, they are a little pricey. I got a couple of quotes that were literally 1/5 as much money. I'm sure the job would have reflected that. Where I'm standing, I want a crew that does the paint right and Frank's running a well oiled ship.

He found that the usual patching material and latex paint would not adhere to the plaster properly, so utilized other materials to do the job. Steve was always punctual. He worked on several evenings and weekend days in order to complete the job before the floor refinishing contractor was scheduled to arrive.

I contacted them through "blind call", got very quick response, with rough estimate, They came out to view job, and we contracted then and there to perform work. Work started within a week of negotiation and finished in 2-3 days. Finish work was very good, they do not paint, that was up to me. Found a couple of "pck marks" when primering the wall patch (extra work), but nothing of any major consequence.

Recent Review: I hired Charter Painting and Restoration to paint the interior of a house I had just purchased prior to Move-in. In addition to painting the walls/ceilings/trim, there were two rooms (living room and bedroom) where the ceilings were cracked that I had wanted repaired - the bedroom also had a closet with a hole in one of the walls that needed to be repaired as well. Jim Charter, the owner, met me at the house to review work that needed to be done and to provide an estimate. From the start, I found him to be very respectful, professional, and helpful. Having been in the restoration business for several years, he was able to provide options and suggestions as to the best approach with respect to both the painting and the repairs. He was also able to identify areas that might not need to be addressed thus being respectful of cost. Price quotes for every room were documented and provided to me up-front thereby ensuring transparency/no surprises. No money was requested up front - all supplies are purchased and all work is completed with payment when the job is complete. The team was able to start work shortly after we met which was helpful as I was on a time schedule to move. Hector, the foreman, was very helpful and communicative as well - providing additional suggestions as to options for the ceiling repair. He even offered to install a new light fixture for me as I was replacing what had been there previously. The work was completed in less than a week and the results are beautiful. Would gladly recommend and/or hire Charter Painting again.

Recent Review: Sam came out for the estimate promptly. His estimate was very reasonable.We scheduled the job for 3 wks out but he was able to come a week sooner. He & his team were awesome. Not only did they do a beautiful job but Sam suggested some embellishments to our archways that are exquisite.He even made a shelf for a niche & replaced a rotted window sill-which both came out great. I expected there would be a mess because it was a big plaster job but it turned out there was no mess. They were so thoughtful & clean. After having nearly every contractor previously leave a disaster behind for me to clean up, this was a tremendous relief. There was no drama. I cannot say enough great things about Sam & his team. Gorgeous job performed with professionalism, courtesy, patience & respect to me & my home. .I spend quite a bit of time just admiring the plaster & smiling. Wish I didn't have to hide it under paint. If only other contractors performed in this manner I'd have a lot less gray hairs from this remodel.
