On 10/16, Abi Muthu, the salesperson, came to our house to discuss the job. She said that we would get 3 free hours on labor and the cost of the cell phone module and smoke detector were reasonable so we agreed to go with them(I even canceled two other appts. for quotes with other companies). She arranged the install for 10/25 between 9-12 am. On 10/23, I received call from ADT dispatch saying that the install would be on 10/24 between 12-2. Even though the day and time were different, I agreed. On 10/24, the installer, Robert, arrived and so there would be no free hours of labor. We both tried to call Abi with no luck. He left our house. On 10/24, Abi called and I explained what had happened about not getting any free labor time as she had promised. She said she would check with her manager and see what could be done. She said she would call me back by 10/27. 10/29, I had to call Abi since I hadn't received a callback from her. She said she would talk to her manager about what could be done. I asked that they simply honor the agreement. She said she would call back by noon and come to the house with a written agreement between 5:30 and 7pm that evening. 10/29, Abi called at 12:22 and said they would honor the 3 hours of free labor and she would bring the paperwork by the house at 5:45pm. 10/29, Abi arrived at house at 6:25(40 minutes late)with paperwork for 3 free hours and would give us a certificate for 2 months free monitoring at the completion of the job. 10/23, ADT dispatcher called with install window on 11/1 from 12-2. 11/1, Tony was suppose to do the install but didn't have the smoke detector and didn't arrive by the end of the window. 11/3, Abi called to say Robert would do the install and would have a smoke detector. 11/7, Corey arrived at 9:30am and said the job couldn't be done the way it I wanted it in spite of what Abi had said. I canceled the job. I am very dissatisfied with ADT and will not be using them nor recommending them to anyone else.

They were punctual as to their arrival and finishing the work. They did leave a few wire pieces and solder around, but overall were neat. They put smoke detectors in the bedrooms and after they were finished we discovered that they hadn't put a smoke detector in the family room (where guests sometime sleep). They came back and put one there too.

ARRIVED ON TIME FOR WORK. FIGURED OUT PROBLEM IN SHORT AMOUNT OF TIME AND INSTALLED FIRE ALARMS AND MONOXIDE MONITORS WITHOUT MAKING A MESS OR TAKING UP ALL DAY.

I travel frequently and wanted to install a security and fire alarm system with central station monitoring. I contacted Bay Alarm through their toll free sales number and they arranged for a representative to come to my nome at MY convenience. The representative was punctual and professional, assessed my needs and provided a number of options. I selected the one I felt best suited my needs. We did a walk-through of the home to identify and confirm what I asked for. We made a date for the installation (also scheduled for my convenience). The installer arrived on time and took precautions to not track dirt into the house. We walked through the installation again. The installer reviewed and cleared all details with me and began the installation. He completed the work three hours ahead of schedule. He reviewed everything with me and taught me how the alarm system worked before he left. I have been using Bay Alarm since mid-November and am very pleased with the service. They are also very responsive if you call their service department with a question. I highly recommend the, They are a family-owned, local company and I feel because of that, they offer a better level of service.

I thought the owner was very professional when he came out to give an estimate. He was able to come to my house twice to make sure everything was done correctly. I wanted to business with a smaller local company. I felt like I could trust him. It took a couple hours with three technicians to install everything. They were hard workers. Scheduling was easy and they were able to work around my schedule. They were prompt as well.

Mr. Peters showed up same-day (a Saturday) to fix a faulty dimmer switch in our tenant's apartment. He provided me a detailed explanation of the issue and the repair and offered his advice on several other small issues around the house, including a potentially dangerous short in a desk lamp as well. He ensured that our smoke and carbon monoxide detectors in both units were up to code. I definitely appreciated his availability, promptness, and professionalism.

David arrived late due to a miscommunication in his office. Since the kitchen ceiling is about 16ft high, David had to go and rent a ladder in order to reach the lightbulb. He then replaced the lightbulbs and battery in the kitchen and started work in the bathroom.

THE INSTALLATION TOOK PLACE BEFORE WE MOVED IN AND I COULD NOT COMMENT. AS FOR MAINTENANCE, I DO NOT LIKE THAT THEY CHARGE $75 TO FIX A BROKEN CONNECTION ON A WINDOW THAT WAS NO FAULT OF MINE. OTHERWISE, THEY HAVE HANDLED ALL ALARM ISSUES PROFESSIONALLY.

I have signed up for monthly services with them for monitoring the fire alarm. Their pricing is very transparent. They will show us the system we need versus the most expensive system. I thought that was a true consultation. It is very customer oriented. They are definitely about recurring business. They have a nice referral system too. I referred some clients and I got a discount.

Very well-we signed up with their monitoring SVCE-at a very reasonable mnthly fee-we now have panic buttons for PD & FD-they were on time-very thorough and neat

The work was neater than other installations I have seen. (Wires were hidden better.) The main problem was that they don't have a real sales staff, so the customer has to have a good idea of what he wants. The price I ended up paying was strictly parts and labor, so there were no price negotiation games.

I had a few odds and ends jobs that would have taken me more than a few weekend days to figure out how to complete. I did not know any reliable handymen around the area and joined Angie's List to find the best people for my needs. I was glad to have found CASE. I called one day during lunch time and left a message and was surprised that Jill returned my call within 10 minutes. After describing the various jobs, she indicated that they would be able to do the tasks, but the earliest appointment would not be available for another two weeks. This was fine with me as I was only too happy to have found someone who did not dismiss my tasks as being "too small". Jill called on the business day before the scheduled appointment to confirm that Jeff would arrive at 8:00 am. I was accustomed to people on service calls being late and was once again pleasantly surprised when Jeff rang my doorbell at 8:00 am sharp. Of the four tasks I listed, his only concern was the installation of the programmable thermostat that I purchased -- he wanted to ensure that it is compatible with my existing central air unit. Jeff was able to complete the first three tasks within 50 minutes. (I should point out here that a previous handyman, not associated with CASE, was unsuccessful in his attempt to replace the hard wired smoke detector and was this close to not being able to put it back the way it was.) The thermostat installation ended up taking Jeff all of 20 minutes. After everything was completed, Jeff went through each of the tasks to describe what he had done and things that I should be aware of. The explanations were quick and concise, and he didn't make me feel like an idiot. Jeff also made sure to clean up any debris from the jobs, a little thing which I didn't mind doing myself since he barely made any mess to begin with. And speaking of cleanliness, I also appreciated how Jeff took an extra few seconds to wipe his shoes thoroughly on the welcome mat whenever he entered / re-entered the house. (yes, the little things do count.) Overall, a very positive experience. Kudos to Jill White for the prompt response and appointment confirmation. Kudos to Jeff Schroeder for his professionalism and positive attitude. The slightly higher rates charged is more than justified by the quality of work and my ease of mind that none of the tasks will need to be re-performed.

The salesperson called and wanted to work up a quote on the phone as they don't have local representation. Their installer is in another town just south of where we live. I detailed what we wanted and I asked for a bid. They were willing to provide a bid over the phone but when I asked for it in either email or mail via the U.S. postal service they said they don't have email and that if I wanted it in writing "it's no wonder you want a security system since you don't trust us." This is the first time I've run into a contractor/service provider who would not provide a written bid for work around the house. This is a definite red flag.

We had 2 stellar consultants once we got in touch with the Alarm protection group. They both deserve to be recognized for their excellent work ethics and knowledge in their field. The installation went in easy, and instruction on using the equipment was very straight forward. Being a State Licensed Inspector and dealing with Fire Alarm and Security systems, I was really amazed at how simple but effective this alarm system is. I would highly recommend APG to anyone who is looking to protect their belongings and keep their family safe. It certainly makes sense to me to go with a quality system and people you can trust!

WE ARE VERY SATISFIED WITH FIRST ALARM. THEY CALL OUR CELL PHONES WHENEVER THE ALARM GOES OFF AND SERVICE THEIR PRODUCT WITHIN 24 HOURS. WE DO RECOMMEND THEM, BUT ARE A BIT PRICEY.

This company gave a somewhat higher estimate than others did, but I especially liked that it was a family-run company with prompt personal attention. I also liked the fact that the family has been doing this for a long time and really know what they are doing. They installed the system all in one day, left no messes behind, and got everything connected right. It works GREAT and is very easy to use. Plus the motion detectors really don't get set off by my very wild and frequently airborne cats (another company had told me that there were no motion detectors that were truly safe with pets).

I'm not happy with them. We had been with them for about 10 to 15 years. A thief broke into the house and ripped out the control panel. I had to replace the control panel at that point but instead of giving me a state of the art control panel, they just gave me another like the old one which did not have smartphone capabilities. There were problems with false alarms especially in Fresno. When these false alarms occurred, the house was vacant then so there was nobody to punch the code in the panel to cancel it. I would call ADT to tell them the alarms went off and they would tell me that it would stop after a few minutes as well as reset. It never did stop or reset and they didn't provide anyway over phone lines to do that. That's why I had to do a switch to another company. I didn't see any reason why they had to be so stingy with their equipment yet we had been loyal customers for years and years. I wasn't happy with the company I had switched to so when I asked ADT to provide an estimate to reinstall their systems, they quoted me for $2,000 for the house in Redwood City. It's not like they are commercial. I think any house over 1,300 square feet should have two smoke detectors and two carbon monoxide detectors but they wanted to charge me $2,500 dollars for all the extra equipment. Their cost for re-installment was enormous and I told them I wasn't going to do the re-installment until their cost went down.

The guy did some handyman work for me and he is superb. He was very good. I was really struggling trying to find somebody to do the stuffs and he just did a wonderful job. I would like to recommend him. He is real good. He brings in people if one needs him. Norman Plumbing was great and they gave me his name and that's how I found him. I want Angie's List to know that he is good. I was with him for a couple of days and he is wonderful with price as well. He did high pressure spraying at the front of my house and that went very well. He did a whole lot of things. He has a lot of experience in the past rebuilding the houses and stuffs and he is very knowledgeable. He is a good guy. He is very honest with the price. I would definitely use him in the future as well.

Great experience overall with a few glitches. Later start than anticipated (our fault due to unexpected delay in escrow closing), but was still able to accommodate our daughter and son-in-law's move-in schedule. (They are caretaking in the house in our absence.) Dan tolerated being the go-between myself and my daughter as decisions on paint color were made and changed. He always double-checked with me before proceeding with an item if he thought we might be dissatisfied with our choice. When the fans ordered for the ventilation system were of poor quality, he sent them back and re-scheduled rather than installing an inferior product. The only item we had difficulty with was the incorrect installation of three of the appliances by one of his men.When I called to tell him there was a problem, he responded immediately (on the week-end) and re-installed the items himself perfectly. Super easy to work with. Does the job the right way in a timely fashion.
