Top Skunk Removal Near San Francisco

Mario was extremely responsive and professional. He came out right away when we called him about a skunk problem we were having. He set traps and promptly returned to retrieve the trapped animals. Overall all, we trapped and removed about 6 skunks and a raccoon. Mario has great knowledge and experience about animal behavior and how to eliminate the pests from coming into the yard. We are now happily skunk free!

Removed a dead skunk that was in 2 peices. They also advised that we likely have other animals that got to it and how to seal up our crawl space & yard to prevent further problems.

Work was effective Rats and mice have not been back, and the main attraction for skunks was eliminated and they are no longer a problem.

We live in the country and things pop up. I have service man. I requested that they send just one, They complied with that. This particular one who came out, Art, he walks the extra mile. I had a sunk in a skunk trap. It wasn't set up. He set the trap up for me and I caught a skunk the next day. I really appreciated that.

They've been great to work with overall! We started using them seven years ago. They've been professional, trustworthy, and show up on time and as scheduled. They're very knowledgeable, too. I never have to worry about my pets or children. Ben, the technician that we've worked with, has been great.

All in all a great outcome to both problems. I will call them again at the first sign of problems.

We started hearing mewling sounds and animal squeaks at night which definitely came from area underneath the kitchen. It didn't sound like kittens so we suspected a wild animal. We contacted as well-known pest exterminator company to come out and investigate, which they did. They suspected a mother raccoon and babies although they couldn't see her or the nest. We were advised to contact Critter Control because this company could not trap animals, only prevent them from entering the crawlspace. Critter Control was very responsive and pleasant to work with. They couldn't see the raccoon or nest either but were willing to set up traps outside the crawlspace. After about 1 month of traps, 2 skunks and no raccoon I called them one morning when I found the trap tossed on its side. Critter Control said it definitely was a raccoon as opposed to a skunk as skunks are not powerful enough to toss the trap in an attempt to escape. They were willing to continue to leave traps out as long as we wanted, but suggested it was time to seal the entry to the crawlspace. They suspected the raccoon left the premise since we no longer heard noises underneath the house. No doubt mother raccoon decided our crawlspace was no longer a safe place to raise her babies. Critter Control was also good enough to come back to check that the crawlspace door the other company installed was adequate to keep out raccoons (or other animal) in the future. To finalize this story a couple of months later we saw a mother raccoon and 2 babies walking along the top of the backyard fence. We suspect she's the same one who occupied our crawlspace. However since that one sighting we've not seen her, nor has she bothered us so we've not had to call Critter Control out for a second attempt.

Since late 2010 there was servious skunk smell around our house and eventually in the house. The smell was so bad I can't even articulate in words how bad it has been. We had other exterminators and also animal control, etc to the house with various ideas and solutions which we tried to no avail. I finally got on Angie's List and found the Hitmen. I wish I contacted them first! They really know this business...especially Lowell Miller!

This work held for about 3 months and then the critter (s) came back. I noticed the large piece of concrete had been moved aside and the wire was beginning to be pulled out on one corner. One evening I heard the sound of a critter scratching etc outside by the hole, it was dark and I shone my flashlight around the hole, and saw an enormous skunk trying to move the piece of concreted. He looked at me and the light and left. I called the service provider and he came out in about a week and re-sealed the hole. So far it is holding up.

Spent adequate time in the crawlspace, very little in the attic. None on roof. Incomplete walk around the outside. Found rats, did not spend the time to help me figure out where they are getting in. If they can't spend the time & effort to find the rat entrance/holes, why do they bother offering this inspection service? Seems to me they only fix obvious problems, not really concerned with helping people fix issues with smaller critters. Sure I can find a hole that a skunk can fit in...

I am very pleased with them. I live in the country side, and they help me a lot. I am happy with the job they do. I pay them every other month. We have had one problem with them. There were two people who come to do the work. I like one of them, and I don?t like the other. We settled that with them and only the person we like comes now to do the job. The person that comes goes the extra mile to do the work. He does more than what is necessary. We had skunk trap outside, and I had mention it to him the night before that it smelled. He set it up for us and that was not his job to do it.

I called Critter Control in the morning and explained that I thought I had dead mice under my house since my back patio was swarming with flies around the vents. I asked if it was possible to have the work done that day in the afternoon. The very nice woman on the phone said she would phone her father and one of them would get back to me in an hour or two. Sure enough, I got a call from Jeff who said he would come out after one and would call me later to let me know the exact time. He came out at 2:00, saw the area in question and pointed out that one of my vents had a large hole in it. He went under the house and found a dead skunk and opossum. He didn't have the exact screen size of my vents and, because of a shed, it was impossible to get to the vent completely. However he put up the screen he had which partially closed the hole and advised me that when the shed was replaced, to make sure to put on the proper size vent cover. Both Jeff and his daughter, the woman who answered the phone, were pleasant and professional. She quoted me $250 unless it was a difficult removal in which case it could go up to $350. Jeff charged me $250 which included covering the vent hole as much as possible. I would definitely use them again if I have any more problems.

Overall it was a great experience (good would not do them justice). We called for an estimate which cost under $100.00. The technician was qualified to give estimates on both termites and the extermination of roof rats and he was extremely professional and friendly. He did a thurough inspection for both. We were shocked that the price was so low. We had not compared prices but in our minds we were expecting it to cost well over $1,000, which is why it took us a month and a half to do anything. We thought the rats would cheerfully come to a gentlemen's agreement with us and leave of their own free will...WRONG. The same day as the estimate he laid traps in all the right places and in the correct way and we immediately started seeing proof that they knew what they were doing. We had no success at all when we tried to use our own traps. He also was qualified to give us a bid on termites and put our mind at ease by letting us know that they weren't subterranean termites. I was concerned that critters (even though they were rats) would suffer and we'd hear them crying. Thankfully that wasn't the case. He inspected every square inch of our house and some out buildings. It cost $35.00 a week to come check the traps and to reset them..well worth the price. I was appalled by the sheer number of rats we caught in the first week. We had to wait a week and a half for a technician to come out and rat proof (skunk proof & racoon proof) our house. It was well worth the wait. He spent almost an entire day here. I didn't realize how much work they would be doing. They used mesh and concrete and sealed all of the entry passages. They added weather strips on our garage door which had a gap at the bottom. The technician was professional and an extremely hard worker. He had to work around rose bushes and a high energy dog who wanted to play. Our crawl space is really wierd but they didn't hesitate to go under the house (they had to go through a bench seat built into the deck.)They have always been on time whether it was a bid, rat removal or the rat proofing process. The technician came from Santa Rosa and drove to Concord and was slightly late but so slightly that I don't consider that an issue. They will continue to come out until there are no rats caught. It will be impossible for more to move in due to their efforts but there may still be some wiley ones that are inside the walls that have avoided traps. They have a warrantee of one year. When we have our termite work done we know we'll call THE HITMAN. I have never been so happy to write a check for a home repair or service before. Simply put THE HITMAN ROCKS!!! i know my rave revues might make someone think I have stock in the company or that I know the owners but I don't. The roofrats creeped me out so much that the HITMAN TECHS ARE MY HEROES. They are brave and go where no other men dare tread..under the house, into the attic, into the garage (which I haven't entered since the rats have shown up). Despite knowing that they might come upon a rat they don't hesitate to investigate creepy places to catch creepy critters. Even my husband who has bravely emptied some of the traps in between their pick up schedule would never go where they've been. The Hitman did everything but give me a therapy session to get over my fear of rats. THE ENTIRE FAMILY IS SLEEPING BETTER NOW THAT THOSE PESKY CRITTERS AREN'T PARTYING IN OUR WALLS. Daryl
