We called David to report pull string on kitchen blind was not working. blinds were installed in 2009. He and his wife came out promptly, fixed the broken cord and did not charge us at all. They definitely stand behind their work.

Flood Doctor Restoration & Construction

My wife has an endless "honey-do" list, and I can't keep up! So Flood Doctor to the rescue... quickly installing hardware with ease, moving the piano without damaging a wood floor, fixing existing tile so that no one could tell which were original and which were replacements, and "sweating the small stuff" to make sure the heavily-damaged guest bed could be used again. Nathan is an honest person who does a quality job and who cares about his customers!

Tom & Steve (father & son) responded to my inquiry within the same day. The came to my house on time, efficiently & skillfully fixed all 3 mini blinds. The materials they used are high graded parachute string. Very happy to have known Tom & Steve, and will go to them for all replacement/repair window blind needs.

The window is a set of 3: a large window flanked by 2 smaller ones. They all match and the color is no longer made. I called to see about getting this blind fixed and was told they only repair warrantied work for the initial purchaser. I need to get the blind fixed, but they are unwilling to help me, even if I paid. They were also very unpleasant with me. If you want good customer service, don't order from this company.

I had new blinds installed in the living room. I also had blinds repaired in the dining room in the entrance way and in the bed room. Parts of my blinds were broken in the dining and they fixed it under warranty. I was able to find the ones I wanted. I went into the store and looked at the catalog and they had my measurements from the original blinds I bought. They were really good to work with me and they did a good job.

Our kitchen walls, window sills, cabinet doors and pantry doors needed painting. Nick was prompt, neat, careful and respectful of our home. He prepared the surfaces (including a wallpapered wall) by sanding, puttying and priming them before painting. He removed the old cabinet hardware which was centered on each door and replaced them with new hardware and hinges in a more desirous location. He taped everything and protected all with drop cloths. He repaired our countertop at the seam. He cleaned up everything before he left at night. With the exception of one night, we were able to use the kitchen during the process. He was well organized. Nick also chipped, sanded and repainted our entryway stairs. He fixed our front door which was sticking and installed weatherproofing. He fixed and adjusted one cafe door by installing a new hinge. He repaired the front window box and installed new curtain rods in an area we could not reach by ourselves. Although never asked, he cleaned the ceiling tiles. Nick takes pride in doing a good job and does class work. We will definitely call him again in the future.

They are excellent in repairing the items in a timely manner (usually about a week, even if they have to order a part). The repairs have all held up and none have re-broken. Very professional and polite. Definitely an A+ experience for us and MUCH less expensive than buying new blinds!!

I had a cellular window shade that is about 4 or 5 years old, and two of the cords had broken. I brought it into the shop in the morning, and it was repaired by 1pm. I have used the company before, to clean cellular shades, and was very happy with them. This was a very large shade, and I was worried that it would be too expensive to repair, but compared to the original price of the shade this was a real bargain. Note that I didn't buy the shade there - otherwise he said he would repair it for free. He really seems like someone who cares about his business, and about doing the right thing.

BOOTH'S HOME REPAIR

Though listed as a handyman, we used Todd primarily for ceiling repairs. Maybe he should be listed as a plasterer. The advantage of using Todd instead of a regular plasterer is that while a coat of plaster dried he could do projects around the house. Impressively, he even identified and fixed the cause of a leak that ruined the worst ceiling. His workmanship was great. His innovation was wonderful. The only snag we ran into was pricing. We chose to use Todd, who was the highest priced fellow we interviewed, because he seemed extremely capable and knowledgeable. (Definitely get an estimate from this guy; you will learn something.) Our budget nearly doubled without our knowledge. If we had checked in with him half way this probably would not have happened. Both Todd and his partner, Dave, are a pleasure to have around the house.

I contacted Jerry. He replied promptly, picked up the broken shade and arranged to ship to Hunter Douglas for repair. He kept me posted of the status that it's beyond repair. Hunter Douglas stands behind their product and now I have a brand new shade! I am very pleased with H & H. I have used them for 2 houses over the past 20 years. I totally recommend H & H for their personal and efficient service and pricing!!!

Two days after assessing the situation, the Windoor fellow brought his tool box and repaired the busted curtain in about ten minutes. $55 for both the service call and the replacement materials. Well worth the price.

3 Day Blinds - Orange County
1.0
I used 3 Day Blinds' online reservation service to have someone come to my home to give me an estimate on replacing a older set of blinds. I went on the online chat to ask whether the person might also be able to advise whether the current blinds could be repaired and was informed that they could. I received an email confirming my in-home appointment. I remained at home from work for three hours waiting on the representative to arrive or to call. No one ever arrived or called. I then called the phone number on the email and the person, after putting me on hold for three to five minutes, came back to say that I didn't have an appointment. I stated that I had an email confirming the appointment. I was then told that I should have called to make the appointment. What use is the online feature when it doesn't work? The representative guessed that perhaps the individual on chat had misunderstood and thought my appointment was for repair and cancelled the sales visit and just cancelled it (without telling me, no matter what actually happened). She explained that sales and repair are two entirely different systems and I should speak with customer service. I was transferred to customer service and began to discuss the problem needing repair. The choices I was offered were to 1) have a repair person come to my home, 2) take the blinds to a repair center, or 3) ship them. Since the closest repair center was in Sacramento (I live in Oakland), that was not really an option. I was told the cost of the visit would be $85 on top of the repairs and that the repair person would call to arrange an appointment but the company could not guarantee at all how long any repair might take. I was then informed that no order for the repair person to call to make an appointment would be made without paying up-front. At that point, I just let them know that I couldn't do business with a company like this and would find another to meet my needs.

Gary and Tyler were fantastic! We had only inquired about fixing the roman shade, which they fixed in no time. We then showed Gary the problems with three Hunter Douglas shades (which I hadn't mentioned in our original discussion). Gary was just wonderful to work with. He explained what he was going to do and showed us a few tips for working with the blinds. He had the tools and hardware to handle all issues. I can't recommend them highly enough!

However, we may have pros in another category that can help with your project.

Blinds usually work effortlessly. When balky blinds bother, consider a professional blind repair service.

What is Blind Repair?

The slats in horizontal blinds can be metal, wood, or plastic; bent or broken through normal usage, these slats are an inexpensive repair job. Valance clip replacement is also a common, simple repair.

Experts say repair or restringing of blinds by a professional blind repair service is less expensive than replacement, whether vertical or horizontal, especially on custom blinds or ones using exotic woods.

Prices climb with complexity. Motor replacement on motorized blinds is one of the more expensive repairs; it can cost $70 or more.

Costs of Blind Repair Near You

The national average for shade and blind repair is $109, in a range from $76 to $167.

Many homeowners replace inexpensive standard blinds, saving blind repair service for custom or motorized blinds. Blind repair may be made on site or, for more extensive repair work (or when working with custom blinds), the repair technician may remove the blinds to repair back at a shop.

Hiring a Blind Repair Service

Get at least three price quotes if possible, especially for large or multi-window repair jobs. Check out online reviews near you and use your local Angie's List to find qualified local professional blind services. Be sure to ask about discounts or specials, and specify your blind type (vertical, horizontal, Roman) and material when seeking quotes.
