  • Franklin's Septic

I contacted Mr. Franklin for what I thought was regular maintenance. I had never had the septic pumped before and was unsure where the tank was located as there were no visible indication of the piping. Mr. Franklin poked around but could not locate the piping so he contacted the County Health Department and obtained a copy of the blue print outlining the location of the septic tank. Turns out the line was inactive and the tank did not need to be pumped. After all the trouble Mr. Franklin went through between the drive out here, the hour he spent poking around trying to find the septic tank and waiting for the county to call back, he refused to accept any money from me. He would not even accept a trip charge. In a world were honesty just doesn't seem to exist anymore, it is so good to know that there are still trustworthy businesses out there! Mr. Franklin's knowledge of what to look for toppled with the time he took just to educate me is just priceless! I wish all businesses was like Franklin Septic

Had roots in the main drain line and there quote of $599 could not be beat so I went with them, I was a little unsure what to expect since it was half of my next cheapest quote but the young man that showed up did a great job.

Had 3 different companies come out in the past 2 years, they wouldn't even look for the septic tank, not sure why. Maybe it was too much work? Anyways called AAA on a Friday, went to vm so I thought I would just call back on Monday for a septic cleaning (no rush) but Mrs Mary called me back on Saturday, wow. She had the guys here on Monday. Such a pleasant crew. Would recommend 100%. I'm sure they get you in based on their busy schedule but I really wasn't expecting this fast service! Very knowledgeable and down to earth people. Very reasonable pricing

I was given Joe's number by another highly rated septic service company that was unable to accommodate me right away. I urgently needed a septic blockage diagnosed and fixed (thank goodness the relief valve kept sewage from backing up into my house and released it into the yard). Joe is knowledgeable about septic system construction and problems. He and his crew inspected the tank, jetted out the clogged line to the house, and offered options for addressing system compromise due to placement of the tank next to a large tree. I will call him for future work

Our septic system installed nearly 40 years ago. Sewage coming up in yard over tank so worried about system failure and tens of thousands to replace field. Jamie came to evaluate and give ideas and estimate. He was awesome, told us his thoughts, detailed exactly what he'd do, and gave us a cost. Other companies came, very vague on what they'd do, one wouldn't give an idea of what might cost. The day Jamie came, I watched him, he did exactly what he said he'd do. I looked into the hole before he backfilled... I feel confident we won't have an anothe issue as long as we live here. THANK YOU!

Septic Tank Service FAQ

  1. What are the signs your septic tank is full?

Answer: There are several signs that indicate your septic tank could be full. These include standing water over your septic tank, a strong odor coming from your yard, gurgling water, slow drains, or a sewage backup. While many of these signs could also be indicative of a clogged system, they should all be checked out by a professional ASAP to avoid costly damages. In the absence of any of these signs, it’s recommended that septic tanks be emptied every 3 to 5 years on average.

  2. How often should a septic tank be serviced?

Answer: On average, septic tanks should be serviced every 3 to 5 years in the absence of any worrying signs that the tank is clogged or full. The size of your septic tank, the number of people living in your home, and your average water usage will all impact how often your septic tank needs to be serviced.

  3. What are the most common causes of septic tank failure?

Answer: The most common cause of septic tank failure is improper maintenance. Failing to pump a septic tank on the appropriate schedule will cause septic tank failure and likely result in a costly septic tank repair or replacement. On average, septic tanks should be pumped every 3 to 5 years, but the size of your tank, the number of people in your home, and your average water usage may shorten or extend this timeframe.

  4. How much does it cost to pump a septic tank?

Answer: The cost to pump a septic tank is $400 on average or about $0.30 per gallon. The size of your septic tank, as well as local labor costs, will impact the cost of pumping your septic tank. Most septic tanks are between 600 and 2,000 gallons in size, meaning the average cost range is between $180 to $600.

  5. How much does it cost to install a septic system?

Answer: The cost to install a septic tank system is between $3,060 and $9,810, on average. The size of the septic tank you choose, the land you’re installing it on, the type of system you choose, and local labor costs will all influence the total cost of installing a septic system. Anaerobic septic tanks (those that don’t need oxygen) typically cost between $3,000 and $8,000. Aerobic systems, which utilize oxygen to activate bacteria and are popular on smaller properties, usually cost between $10,000 and $20,000.

  6. How long does a septic system last?

Answer: When septic systems are well maintained, they can last up to 30 years or more. If a septic system isn’t properly maintained, such as when it isn’t pumped regularly, it may malfunction and require costly repairs or a premature replacement. In general, septic tank pumping is recommended every 3 to 5 years to ensure the septic system lasts as long as possible.
