Lisa Prince and her team of employees and subcontractors arrived on time and made some excellent recommendations on renovating our pool area. She arranged for us to look at a project which incorporated many of the ideas we were discussing. We ultimately decided to resurface and reconfigure our layout by adding more concrete decking. Lisa and her project manager worked closely with their primary subcontractor. Attention was paid to both large and small details, i.e. drainage and finishing. The result is stunningly beautiful. It is also more functional than our previous layout.

I live in Baytown, TX and I have a recently installed Anthony and Sylvans pool. We love our pool! I am beyond happy with my choice. My salesman Rick Blatter was very honest and enthusiastic. He was very well prepared and blew any competition out of the water in my eyes. He was very well prepared. If you do your research, there is no better pool warranty. Michele Hokanson was our coordinator. She was helpful and was there for us every step of the way. I honestly have her cell phone number and I text her any time that I have questions, in which she promptly answers me. This is probably out of her job description since my pool is finished and I still text her, I don't even use her work phone! I could not be any more pleased with my choice.

Everything went great! The designer was awesome and the build went smooth. There were a few small things that I found later and they came right back out and took care of them to my satisfaction. Love the job they did for us!

Guy's were very professional, courteous and punctual. They kept my suggestions in mind during the builds and provided many different suggestions during construction. They kept me informed of the progress and beat the deadline given. Both the deck and office exceeded our expectations and they kept the cost within budget! I won't use anyone else for any future services that I need!

Maz Contractor Services

He used a jackhammer to chop up the concrete and hauled it to his truck to remove it. He left the site cleaner than he found it. He completed the job in less than 4 hours which was amazing since I forgot it was 8-inches thick and had told him it was only 3-inches thick. He simply called me and asked me if he should remove the additional 5-inches and he did not mind. We were able to renegotiate the fee at the later time and I was pleased with the outcome.

The job went fine. Using Angies List I contacted 3 concrete companies. Maz was the first to respond and quoted a fair price. He ,Adrian Amezquita was ready to start immediately. That sealed the deal. He arrived shortly after and we reviewed the job and his guys went to work. Using a jackhammer, they broke up the concrete and used wheelbarrows to remove the broken pieces. That part was somewhat difficult because they had to maneuver around a swimming pool. After 2 hours of work they had finished. They left the site clean of debris and filled in the void that was left. I am happy with their work and would use them again for similar projects.

Steve Kendrick was engaged in December of 2012 to complete a swimming pool remodel at my home. In December of 2013 (a YEAR later), I basically had a mosquito infested mud pit for a pool and a back yard that was completely unusable. Steve had demolished my pool and existing concrete deck, but had not completed any of the new construction. He took about $XX,XXX of my money and left me with nothing more than a destroyed back yard. He never delivered the equipment that was supposed to have been purchased with my money and he didn't pay off his subcontractor, who later filed a lien on my property. I received nothing significant of value for my $XX,XXX. In fact, the company I have now hired to complete the job is charging me more than my total original contract price with Steve because the new company has the additional hassle of cleaning up all of Steve's mess. If someone broke into my house and stole $XX,XXX of my money, I would label them a thief and call the police to pursue criminal charges!! My attorney tells me that Steve has been sued before and that he likely has no assets to satisfy any legal judgments. My recommendation is that you DO NOT hire Houston Pool Remodeling or any other business name under which Steve Kendrick might be operating.

Gary is the eleventh Professional Contractor that I have had doing various professional tasks at Sandra's and my thirty-one year old home over the past nine weeks. We have had major electrical work done for our home and pool, a new driveway and sidewalks installed, a new fence erected on the north side of our property, a new fence built to separate the breezeway from the driveway and swimming pool, a new swimming pool service company, forty percent of our gutters replaced, new electrostatic filters installed in our attic upstairs and our HVAC ducts and registers cleaned and mold remediated. Gary has now augmented our current ADT Security System with the installation of back up battery operated smoke/fire alarms should our electricity ever be cut off due to a hurricane, power surge or other external force. Sandra and I agree that out of all these Professional Contractors Gary was The Best Professional Contractor of the entire group detailed above. He first checked each of the "First Alert" Smoke/ Fire Alarms to make certain that they were working properly. He then checked each of the Ever Ready Batteries to see that they were functional. Gary found that one of the Smoke/Fire alarms was not working at all while one was giving a somewhat weak signal. Fortunately, I had purchased one extra Smoke/Fire alarm to cover such a contingency. Gary, then, found that all the Ever Ready batteries were at full strength and functioning as intended. Gary then installed the five Fire/Smoke detectors in the center of each ceiling with painstaking accuracy pursuant to the instructions for maximum coverage of the air flow in our home. Sandra and I will sleep much better tonight because of Gary's precise installation of each of these Fire/Smoke Alarms on both floors of our home. Gary then installed a United States Flag and attendant flag pole exactly in the perfect spot on our oak tree to take maximum advantage of our daily breeze while doing no damage to our oak tree in our front yard. Finally, he installed a Beware of Dog sign in the best place possible for maximum visibility. Gary's work was absolutely excellent and Sandra and I will definitely employ him again in the near future.

Recent Review: It is my extreme pleasure to add my review to the long list of 5 stars reviews for Danny Hixon, master licensed electrician who gets to the root of the problem or provide a service honestly, efficiently and thoroughly. Danny truly is the modern day human Norse God, Thor, who was the defender of Asgard, realm of the gods, and Midgard, the human realm, through great feats of arms in slaying giants. Because of the Texas Freeze, I got suckered into going with a Big Company that told me I needed a brand new furnace. I bought into paying more for the 100% guaranty. Come spring, I discovered that the outside A/C condenser connected to the new furnace did not run. Big Company came out, messed around with the furnace and the A/C and told me that critters escaping the TX Freeze must have crawled in through the vent and chewed the T-STAT wire somewhere from the furnace to the outside. The fix would be replace it with a new T-Stat wire connecting would either run through an ugly outside conduit or cut through the drywall. Big Company told me it wanted $1000, please, Without hesitation, I told them I would think about it. But then Big Company insisted on knowing why I did not accept the offer on the spot. “Ok”, I said, “so I am calling some other electricians. Danny Hixon stood out in my search of Electricians with 5 stars reviews. He was the only one who texted me his thoughts and then later phoned me he could not come that day. It was then I told Danny, another electrician was all set to come the next morning. Danny called later again and told me, he is nearby on his last job, and please allow him to just look at the problem because from what I was describing, it may not be the major job I was led to believe by Big Company. He added that I should still go with the other electrician I expected in the morning, if I was not satisfied and he gave his word he would not charge me. Once at the house, Danny now was able to see that was actually always an HVAC issue. No it was not a $1000 job I was led to believe. In fact, the T-STAT wire was LIVE and well. That wire has red, green, blue, white, yellow, take your pick of colored wires and match those color wires up with the furnace and the A/C unit and the signal goes through. So when Big Company would have replaced the wire for $1000 and the A/C unit would still not have turned on. The wires would never have gotten matched up. I am predicting then Big Company would tell me the AC unit is toast and sell me a $7000 new A/C condenser. And I am still stuck with this ugly $1000 conduit on the side of my house. Danny puts honest service to his customer first and foremost. He tells you to let him worry about how to get the job done, lets you watch him work, and tells you what he is doing so you understand everything. And, he does answer his calls. When you call him, he wants you to text him the problem so he can be analyzing it before he makes the service call. And he will promptly text you back. I don’t think he is worried if you decide to take his information somewhere else, because he is really, above all, concerned about solving people’s electrical problems and he has more than enough customers to keep him busy. Your loss, though, if you do not go with Danny Hixon. Clearly, Danny Hixon loves and takes pride in his excellent work and leaving his customer relieved and happy it’s all done right. Danny Hixon is the consummate professional, honest, efficient, and a superior human being, He is a man of his word. Thank goodness for Danny; there are few people like him that you can trust and that are still around. Danny Hixon knows his stuff. He is a hero, my hero, a gentleman ,and credit to his profession. He earns your trust from the very minute. A superb master electrician, totally professional, thorough, honest to the bone, sincere, and who really cares about helping people, like Thor the Norse God, he is a gentle giant to his customers who defends them against the big company giants.

Recent Review: This company does a very good job of communicating price and process. They understood that my goal was to make the pool I already had look nice again, and that I did not want a completely redesigned pool. They were prompt and the crew was courteous. They did a good job of replastering the pool, they finished on time, and were very good about coming out and following up with instructions as to proper pool maintenance. I liked how the deck turned out, but it has started to crack again. I am not sure that it is avoidable, because I think maybe this drought has created subsidence problems. I have not followed up with Abyss to inquire about recommendations to rectify this problem. I may decide to do so in the future.

Recent Review: We had some broken, and sunk concrete in the parking lot of the neighborhood pool that was a hazard. Willie gave us the best price and he did the work in the time alloted. We had a few changes, and additions during the work that he easily accommodated and at a reasonable price. The flat work is nice and looks professional. And they cleaned up after all the work had been done. I will use him again and recommend him to others.

Recent Review: I called 5 landscape companies (found on Angie's List) looking for comparison quotes. David was the only person to call me back. He visited within a few days of contact and had his designer draw up a plan before I had to commit. He always did what he said he would do and I never had a single problem with his cost estimates, schedule, or quality. This was a massive investment for us and we made the right choice going with DLG.

What do customers in Houston say about Inground Pool Installation?

The swimming pool removal/demoltion went EXTREMELY well. They completed the entire job in three days and spent the fourth day leveling my backyard, assuring that it sloped away from my house for proper drainage, adding a layer of top soil, and re-soding the backyard. The foreman, Randy was excellent. He communicated well with me during the entire job, explained what he was doing and prepared me on the next steps (it is a messy, noisy job) and made sure that we and my neighbors were inconvenienced as little as possible. Laura, who scheduled everything also was a great communicator and kept me informed of arrival times and even helped me secure additional sod, (they resoded the parts of my yard that were torn up by the construction) which they installed at no extra cost! They do business in a VERY professional manner and obviously take pride in their work and their reputation. They were not the lowest bid, but they were very competitive and provided great value for the price. I will use them AGAIN if I need additional concrete work completed. Again, they were excellent to work with and a pleasure to do business with.
