Jeff replaced a tankless water heater. He was intelligent, personable, experienced, efficient and did an excellent job. Plus, his price was very fair and much lower than another well rated plumber that I had gotten a bid from. I liked him so much I referred him to family members. I now have a new "go-to" plumber. Knowing you are going to get the job done right and for the right price removes the stress of searching for and getting exorbitant bids.

Horrible experience with this company on a tankless water heater. Water heater stopped working correctly. We called Neighborhood Plumbing, they charged us over $200 to work on it, said the problem was air in the lines and it was fixed. That didn't make much sense, but if it was fixed then OK. Worth $200 to have hot water for the dishes. But it was not fixed. Called them back that evening. The guy came back the next day, but spent the whole time on the phone with the manufacturer. He clearly did not know what he was doing on a tankless hot water heater. He charged us another almost $400 for his time talking to the manufacturer and told us that we needed to spend another $750 (on top of the $600 he already charged) to fix it this time (after he said it was fixed the day before). So they wanted over $1350 to fix a unit (that they had said was fixed) that cost less than $1000 one year ago. No longer had any faith in them so called a reputable company recommended by Rinnai. Should have done that in the first place. They needed only 15 minutes to test the unit and recommend not wasting our money trying to fix it. They only charged me to replace it. No call to the manufacturer needed--it was clear he understood tankless hot water heaters, had the right equipment, etc. Neighborhood Plumbing may be OK for regular plumbing, but do not use for a tankless hot water heater.

Initially I just needed, or thought I needed, our yearly flush of our Rennai tankless water heater. Well, come to find out the whole think was in stalled in a crummy fashion. Our plumber was fantastic. Really knowledgeable and professional. Fixed our bad installation job as best he could and explain everything to me. Would recommend.

After installing one tankless water heater under the license of the Master Plumber, Guadalupe Patino, I noticed significant water pressure loss and a second one was installed. When it was all said and done, I had to have another Plumber, Rodgers Plumbing, diagnose the problem and reinstall a new tankless water heater. Crystal Plumbing company performed wiring and plumbing without a permit and the plumbing was not up to code. The city inspectors came to my residence and investigated the matter. Crystal Plumbing was issued several citations by the inspectors. I did my research on this company prior to agreeing to the installation: checked references, BBB, Secretary of State, as well as, the Rinnai water heater website. I have settled with this company and do not want to have any contact with them-BUYER BEWARE!

The water heater flush was routine - no issues. The real adventure was in getting the sewer line cleared. The problem (which we pretty much already knew) was between our downstairs toilet and where the sewer line from there joins with the sewer mainline. We also already knew the problem (said toilet not flushing well) was due to roots in the line. What we didn't know was the extent of the problem and if anything could be done about it short of replacing the sewer line. Thomas (our technician) pulled the toilet off the drain and discovered root tendrils coming up from around the outside of the pipe, going through the wax ring, and then combining into a single root that went down into the sewer line. He cleaned all that out and was even able to pull from the sewer line a root length of about 4 feet that was holding onto several pounds of waste; it was absolutely disgusting. Thomas then augured the line. Now the toilet flushes great (for the first time in a few years). Thomas packed some copper sulfate in the area around the sewer line opening before he put down a new wax ring and re-seated the toilet. Hopefully that will help at least ****** the growth of the roots around the outside of the line. After Thomas left, we hit the sewer line (via the toilet) with some Roebic brand foaming root killer. Hopefully that will take care of root growth inside the sewer line. Only time will tell and no guarantees, but we feel pretty good about it. We will need to continue hitting the toilet with the foaming root killer, though (we plan to do it twice per year). All said, Thomas did an excellent job and really earned his pay on this one. He was courteous and professional throughout. We had had a different company out before (about a year ago) but they only told us what the problem was and said we needed to hit it with the root killer and see if that improved the flushing performance. This time, though - with Thomas - we feel like the line has been cleared and the root killer will be just for maintenance (albeit very important for at least slowing the recurrence of the problem). Very happy, as usual, with Excalibur Plumbing.

Brandon was a great technician (so far only great technicians have ever been sent my way by Economy Plumbing)! He was so very nice and polite. He took time to show me what was wrong with my clogged drain as well as point out some future things we may want to consider taking care of. I like their VIP membership program that saves us money in the long run since we have to flush our tankless water heater every year. The only negative is that they generally don't have emergency service on nights and weekends, but for 95% of our plumbing needs, it ends up being ok. I wish they partnered with another company for emergency service. Other than that, they are a great company with superb communication. I refer them to everyone I know that asks for a plumbing recommendation.

Recent Review: Our nonprofit organization Open My World Therapeutic Riding Center suffered plumbing damage during the winter storm 2021. We called several plumbers with no response. Upon calling Squared Away Plumbing, not only did they respond quickly during a busy time, but completed the job timely and professional. Also, we appreciate that they took extra time to ensure other pipes were good for future use. We really appreciate them getting us back up and running since we need to serve our disabled clients, volunteers and horses. Thank you!!

Recent Review: The now illegal pipes in my condo had never been replaced, and I was worried about them and the aging water heater in the attic. Custom had done the plumbing replacement for a neighbor, and was highly recommended. Garry came and gave me a bid, and I got one other bid, from a pluming company listed on the water heater site. Garry's bid was lower, and he was more pleasant. The work was done in August, and the 2 workers had to work in my attic in the hottest summer ever in Austin! They worked 20 minutes and came down for ten, but they still completed the work in the time estimated. All of them were pleasant and polite, and they answered all of my questions. Because of an unclosed building permit by the remodeler from whom we bought the house 6 years ago, they had to make extra trips and do extra work, and they didn't charge extra for that. They did charge to find and repair a gas leak in the old gas lines, which was necessary to pass the inspection and to not have my house blow up some day, but their work passed with no problems. About 3 weeks after they were all done, I called the office at 6 pm in desperation when my furnace was blowing cold air and a freeze was expected. The AC man couldn't come for 24 hours, and I was afraid the plumbers had not turned the gas to the furnace back on. Garry came out within 30 minutes, and although he is the office guy, not the plumber, he went up in the attic and found a switch or wire that made the furnace come on - no charge, and it has worked ever since. Custom has also done the replacement for at least one additional neighbor, and she was pleased with their work.

Recent Review: He was a kind genteleman who placed floor protecting booties over his workboots before entering my home. He asked questions and was very polite. He insisted that he inspect the problem before jumping into the expense of a new water heater. I was thrilled to find out it could be repaired. He left and returned with the parts needed and was done with the job in only a couple hours start to finish. His honesty is what I found most appealing. I will always call Certified Plumbing when I need a plumber because I know I will not be taken advantage of even though I know nothing about plumbing.

Recent Review: Great. Brett was super helpful (responsive and knowledgeable). He told me what he'd suggest for fixes, what I could probably handle myself and helpful tips for things I didn't even think about as a first time homeowner. Would totally recommend for someone who doesn't have a go-to plumber already.

What do customers in Austin say about Tankless Water Heater Installation?

These guys were Amazing! Two months ago my pilot light on my 15 year old water heater went out. They were out within three hours to relight and give us a quote on a tankless system. The bid was very reasonable so I called the operations manager and asked him if we should move forward with the installation or hold off until the old water heater died. Naturally I assumed he would push me to replace but he said he would hold off until the old one died. I was completely impressed that they didn’t to encourage me to buy right away. Two months later on Thanksgiving it started leaking. I called Excalibar back on Thanksgiving thinking I would be leaving a message and they answered. Not only did they answer but they scheduled replacement of the hot water heater for Monday and it was done by the end of day on Monday. We couldn’t be happier with the service or the tankless product. I would absolutely consider paying a little extra to get the recirculating system so that you have “on demand” hot water. It’s really nice to jump in the shower and have hot water immediately.
