The job included designing/redoing our frontyard bed, installing downspouts, building a 330 square foot backyard patio bordered by a dry creek, installing natural stone steps leading up to the patio, and designing/executing new backyard landscape beds. Our backyard - which is on a slope and not a huge space to begin with - looks out onto a shared driveway. Given that, my wife and I struggled with how to create a sense of privacy in our backyard without having a fence installed. Of all the professionals we met with initially, Ben, our Project Manager and Connor, who did a lot of the design work, had the clearest vision of how to get it done. Both were mindful and in tune with what was important to my wife and I. Both were creative in working within the parameters of our space to deliver what is in my opinion, the very best job that anyone could have done. Big credit to the the teams that came out and did the work as well, Cheto included. The results are stunning and my wife and I couldn’t be happier

- Avec Construction IncWe spoke with several contractors regarding our existing deck, which is over 30 years old and was not well built. We wanted something that would require no maintenance and last at least that long. We also wanted a walkway from the steps of the deck to a 16x16' patio. When we first met with Kati, we were struck with how much time she made for us. While she was there to review the existing condition and take notes to produce an estimate, she described different materials, design changes and quickly assessed our existing structure. We went through several possible designs and asked for a proposal with several possible options. We selected Avec's proposal as we felt it was the best value for the price. As work began, the workmen were prompt, reliable and courteous. They didn't leave any debris or remaining materials. The deck and new patio they built was really spectacular. Really beautiful design elements. Small details like post selection, a delicate lattice work under the deck and a lighted steps (on a timer) were really nice touches. The patio and 10' walkway was nicely installed and the materials were top-notch. I cannot say enough about this company--really a pleasure to work with and we are loving this new part of our house

Update: Could not edit previous review, so posting update: Had issues w/ heater and customer service was quick to respond and remedy. Provided name and direct line so I could contact in the future. "Everything went extremely well. As we were finalizing our plans for this project Keith always had good suggestions, most of which we took. Once construction began, the entire project took about 3 months, and we could not be happier. The men who did the actual labor did a very good job, and Keith was always responsive when I had a question. He was frequently on site checking up on things, pulled all of the permits needed for the job and made sure he was on site for the final inspection. His costs were VERY reasonable and extremely competitive.

"The whole project--from estimation through completion--went really well. We have a rowhouse, and we got fencing for both sides of our rear driveway and a roll-up garage door. They were able to deal with two large trees on either side that the fence had to be custom cut / fitted around and the result looks really good. We had one small issue where the final state of some cement they had to break up on the neighbor's side was making our neighbor unhappy, and when I emailed Gus about it he immediately emailed back and they came back to fix it later and it looks great. There are always going to be small issues like that on a big project, and Gus's responsiveness was outstanding.

"I called/e-mailed five different companies to get bids to replace the decking boards on my old deck. Steadfast was one of only two companies that responded. I made an appointment. Their employee arrived on time, with samples, explained the options, later provided an estimate in writing, and was very thorough. It took several weeks to get on their schedule to get the work done. I was contacted about 48 or 72 hours before the work was to start. The installer arrived on time, removed the old decking and rail cap, installed additional joists and the new Fiberon decking. Very clean installation.
