Writing is the only thing that makes you a writer. There is no other criteria - not a specific degree, not being agented, not having a book published. Even if what you’ve written has never left your laptop, never been read by another person, you are a writer.

This writing business can be frustrating. Publishing can be down right infuriating & confusing. But you know what? I don’t think I could ever turn back now. I can’t not be a writer. This is what truly fills me up. Anyone else feel the same? ❤️🔥#WritingCommunity

My favorite advice to authors who are new to the querying trenches is to celebrate your first rejection as if it were a full request. My husband shouted, "congratulations!" When my first one came in, and honestly it made me feel so much better.
