Correlating the Performance of Computer Vision Algorithms with Objective Image Quality Metrics

by Henry Koren

1. Why care about the quality of your cameras?

The task of computer vision (CV) involves analyzing a stream of images from an imaging device. Some simple applications such as object counting may be less dependent on good camera quality. But for more advanced CV applications where there is limited control of lighting & distance, the quality of your overall vision system will depend on the quality of your camera system. This is increasingly important wh

Imatest will attend AutoSens in Detroit on May 10-12, 2022. AutoSens is a 3-day workshop, conference, and exhibition advancing the education for and development of vehicle perception technology. It brings together over a thousand minds in vehicle perception, ADAS, and autonomous vehicles twice a year—in Detroit, Michigan USA in May, and Brussels, Belgium in September. Each event includes conference sessions, discussions, collaborations, debates, networking, business meetings, interactive learning, autonomous driving demonstrations, and technology exhibition showcasing. With a full COVID-safe exhibition of over 30 key industry players, a range of round table sessions and two drinks receptions, you can maximize the opportunity to network with expert engineers, academics, and professionals.

Imatest is advancing autonomous technology with software, equipment, and expertise around image quality. Our engineers are actively involved in defining automotive imaging standards as part of the IEEE-SA P2020 working group. P2020’s goal is to resolve the current ambiguity around automotive imaging standards by defining a coherent set of key performance indicators.

Come visit booth #36 for more information on the groundbreaking software, charts, and equipment has to offer. We’ll have a team of imaging engineers on site to answer any of your questions.

AutoSens Detroit will take place at:
