ACM Open Conference Statement
The open exchange of ideas and the freedom of thought and expression are central to the aims and goals of ACM and its conferences. These aims and goals require an environment that recognizes the inherent worth of every person and group, that fosters dignity, understanding, and mutual respect, and that embraces diversity.
ACM is firmly committed to prohibiting discrimination at its conferences against individuals because of race, color, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, marital status religion, national origin, ancestry, or disability. All individuals are entitled to participate in any ACM activity free of discrimination, including harassment based on any of the above factors.
ACM is concerned about discriminatory legislation in various locations and will work with conference organizers to best address location related issues.

BCB '22, August 7 - 10
The ACM Conference on Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, and Health Informatics is the flagship conference of SIGBio, ACM's Special Interest Group on Bioinformatics. Workshops include Parallel and Cloud-based Bioinformatics and Biomedicine; Computational Network Biology; No-Boundary Thinking; and AI Shakes up Drug Safety. Scheduled keynote speakers are Tiffani J. Bright (American Medical Informatics Association), Kelvin Droegemeier (University of Oklahoma), and Wendy Nilsen (NSF). The event will be held in Chicago, Illinois, USA.
SIGGRAPH '22, August 8 - 11
The SIGGRAPH conference will again include both on-demand presentations and scheduled sessions, celebrating advancements in computer graphics, digital art, animation, visual effects, machine learning, artificial intelligence, immersive and mixed realities, scientific visualization, and more. Featured speakers are 2019 ACM A.M. Turing Award winner Pat Hanrahan (Stanford University), Sougwen Chung (artist and researcher), Ime Archibong (Meta), and ACM Turing Award Laureate and Academy Award-winner Ed Catmull (co-founder of Pixar). This event will be held in Vancouver, Canada.
KDD 2022, August 14 to 18
The SIGKDD Conference on Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining brings together researchers and practitioners from data science, data mining, knowledge discovery, large-scale data analytics, and big data. Workshops include “Deep Learning on Graphs,” “Machine Learning in Finance,” “Misinformation and Misbehavior Mining on the Web & Making a Credible Web for Tomorrow,” and more. Keynote speakers are Lise Getoor (UC Santa Cruz), Milind Tambe (Google Research), and Shang-Hua Teng (USC). This conference will be held in Washington DC, USA.
SIGCOMM 2022, August 22 - 26
The flagship annual conference of the ACM Special Interest Group on Data Communication focuses on the applications, technologies, architectures, and protocols for computer communication. Planned topics include “Admission Control for Performance-Critical RPCs in Datacenters,” “Vivisecting Mobility Management in 5G Cellular Networks,” “Contract-Based Network Sharing,” “Underwater Messaging Using Mobile Devices,” and more. Keynote speakers will be Henning Schulzrinne (Columbia University) and Deborah Estrin (Cornell Tech, Cornell University). The event will be held in Amsterdam, the Netherlands
UbiComp 2022, Sept. 11 - 15
The 2022 ACM International Joint Conference on Pervasive and Ubiquitous Computing will feature workshops on mental health, computing for well-being, technologies for education and learning, physical- and data-driven knowloedge, and more. This year UbiComp will again be collocated with the ACM International Symposium on Wearable Computers (ISWC), with shared workshops and tutorials. This event will be held in-person and will be held concurrently in Atlanta, Georgia, USA and Cambridge, UK, with a virtual workshop on Sept. 11.
RecSys 2022, Sept. 18 - 23
The 16th ACM Conference on Recommender Systems will be a hybrid event held in Seattle, Washington, USA. Workshops and tutorials will cover topics including neural re-ranking, knowledge graphs, training and deployment, reinforcement learning, causality, human resources, counterfactuals and sequentials decision-making, and much more. Keynote speakers will be Catherine D’Ignazio (MIT) and Mor Naaman (Cornell Tech).
ICN 2022, Sept. 19 - 21
The goal of the 9th ACM Conference on Information-Centric Networking (ICN) is to provide accessing named data as a principal network service, with design efforts addressing the challenges that arise from the increasing demands for highly scalable content distribution. The conference will on current ICN research topics, featuring paper presentations and demonstrations. This event will be held in hybrid mode from in Osaka, Japan.
MobileHCI 2022, Sept. 28 - Oct. 1
The ACM International Conference on Mobile Human-Computer Interaction is the leading academic conference in human–computer interaction and is sponsored by ACM SIGCHI, the Special Interest Group on Computer-Human Interaction. This year's program includes sessions and workshops including Input and Interaction, Understanding People and Robots, Augmenting Your Reality, Monitoring People, and many more. The conference will be held in Vancouver, Canada.

AI for Good Global Summit 2021 (online), continuous digital event
The 2021 edition of the AI for Good Global Summit is a continuous digital event, featuring weekly programming across multiple formats, platforms and time zones, including keynotes, expert webinars, project pitches, Q&As, performances, demos, interviews, networking and more. Upcoming highlights include presentations on AI and climate science, health, and data, and a keynote on "The EU’s Artificial Intelligence Act: How will it impact your life and business?"
Virtual Conferences: A Guide to Best Practices
In March 2020 ACM formed a Presidential Task Force (PTF) to help conference organizers transition their events to online. The PTF is working on a guide to offer practical advice and shed light on the largely unfamiliar territory of online conferencing.
The report, available here, includes pointers to a live document with additional resources. We welcome comments, suggestions and experience reports from the community.
