"I was pleased with the progress and at first praised their punctuality and neatness. They took on extra jobs but then was not able to finish others. They said they had to go but would come back. We discussed when they left that they would come back to finish the other jobs, so I didn't say anything when I didn't hear back from the the next week. They left behind materials. I called to have them retrieve them and they refused to come back, telling me that I should just trash them. Hmmm. if I could get my husband on a ladder, I wouldn't have to call them. I noticed that I did have to tell them to put something down on my upstairs carpet while they were fixing a wall. They finally put something down but the area they covered has some ground in dirt. Apparently the drop cloth was filthy so I get to look at that stain now every day. The team was VERY nice and I did plan to have them back. After they I left, I noticed my neighbor also had a handyman over. He came over, put up a hook into a cement wall and asked for a broom to sweep up. That's when I noticed all the dust the previous team had left. My first experience with a handyman was disappointing which is the last thing I expected when they came by all eager and "courteous" as the company is named.

"Had a section of my polybutylene water line change from the water heater to the main manifold. Jason, the plumber was experienced and very professional. Worked me through what he was going to do before starting the work. Replaced the pipe and made sure the issue was fixed before leaving. Took the time to give me an estimate for replacing the entire polybutylene plumbing in the house as this system is no longer recommended due to high failure rate.

"Excellent. Rob Smith came to the house within a few days of my calling & provided an estimate. The work was scheduled for the following week (including a permit from Fairfax County). The team arrived right on time, 8am (Rob Smith was the crew lead, so it was nice to have the same person who provided the estimate come out and do the work), and work hard. The finished the project (including 2 virtual inspections with Fairfax Co.) by 3pm. Very happy with the work. I would hire again.

Got a call back from their technician Chung Lin very quickly, who told me to look for any blown fuse in the furnace circuit board inside the house, not the exterior AC unit, and offered to come out if needed. Sure enough found a blown fuse and replaced it. Problem solved. Excellent and honest expert opinion, free of charge.

"The experience was not overly good. The electrician was initially not able to install a programmable thermostat, and it was only installed 6 hours and 2 HVAC repairmen later. At one point during the first hour, it did not seem like things were coming together and I asked the electrician if he needed to just put the old thermostat back in place. He suggested it would just take some more time. Shortly later, there was a loud pop. Somehow, a component in our air conditioner was blown out as the thermostat wires were being attached. The electrician left to go to get a replacement part for the A/C. While he was gone I called Mr. Electric, mainly to complain about how the installation had gone. They said that the owner would call me, which never happened. However, Mr. Electric did hire out an HVAC technician to repair it the same day. There was another problem and they had to call a second HVAC technician, who repaired the A/C and installed the thermostat in about 15 or 20 minutes. Mr. Electric did not charge me for anything, which I appreciated. The electrician said that Mr. Electric would give me a couple hundred dollars of free work in the future. That was nice, however it was just a verbal promise (at the time of writing this review) and I am not likely to hire them again anyway. <br /> The reason I called an electrician was to <em>avoid </em>messing up a self-installation of a new thermostat. So I was very disappointed and angry about the outcome. If he had just told me that it was difficult to install that particular type of thermostat, or that he wasn't able to do it, I would have been perfectly fine. Actually, I would have gladly paid him for coming to evaluate it. The electrician was very polite and I felt bad for him. While I understand that things can go wrong, I felt like this situation should not have occurred in the first place. I also wish Mr. Electric would have sent along a second person to oversee the installation. However, I do appreciate that Mr. Electric took steps to resolve the situation on the same night once things went wrong. I do appreciate that the electrician stayed until the entire situation was resolved safely, and remained professional. <br />
