History
Beginning as a ‘one-man operation,’ Tar Heel Basement Systems began after founder Pete Burgess encapsulated his own crawl space. Seeing the improvement the system had on his own home, Burgess felt compelled to share with others. From these humble beginnings grew a multi-service operation offering foundation repair, crawl space repair, basement waterproofing, and concrete lifting.
From their offices in Raleigh and Winston-Salem, Tar Heel serves all of North Carolina and parts of Southwest Virginia in areas including Boone, Durham, Greensboro, Rocky Mount, and nearby.
In November 2017, Tar Heel merged with Groundworks after ensuring their legacy of customer, employee, and community dedication would be continued. This allowed Tar Heel to grow beyond artificial boundaries and allows access to upgraded training and products.
