Have used this plugin for years happily but, since the latest update the contact form no longer works despite a working email account. Noted issues with php and smtp do not seem to be relevant but still the mail will not send from the contact form on the website. Others seen to have issues but no formal response, instructions or patch to correct are available. Please can you provide instructions on how to resolve!

Super flexible, I use it for many websites of my clients. Only the mobile versions of the form sometimes have minimal bugs.

Plugin works fine for majority of users on shared hosting or specialized WP hosting environments. But if you use a security hardened setup using symbolic links on a VPS, file attachments will not work. There have been numerous reports which the developer refuses to acknowledge are an issue. See: github.com/takayukister/contact-form-7/issues/475 As such, if you require sending attachments and use symlinks for uploads, you are better of writing the contact form yourself. After auditing the codebase I just don't think the quality of this plugin is very good.
