About Health sharing

In the Sharing tab of the Health app, you can share any data you've stored in the Health app with up to five individuals. You control what data you share, and you can change it or stop sharing at any time. If a friend or family member chooses to share their health data with you, you can also receive notifications when there are changes to their health data.

Here's what you need

  • An iPhone or iPod touch with iOS 15 or later.
  • An iCloud account with Health turned on and two-factor authentication enabled.
  • The person you want to start sharing with must be saved in your Contacts with their iCloud account email address included.*

*If you start sharing data with someone, removing them from Contacts won't stop the sharing.

Set up sharing

  1. On your iPhone, open the Health app.
  2. Tap the Sharing tab, then tap Share with Someone. Make sure Health is turned on in your iCloud account.
  3. Search for a contact to share with. A name in blue indicates that the other person's device supports sharing. Grey means their device does not support sharing.
  4. Tap See Suggested Topics or Set Up Manually.
  5. Choose the data you want to share.
  6. Tap Share and then tap Done.

The person you've selected will receive an invitation to start viewing health data.

Share with healthcare providers

If you live in the United States, you can share your health data with enrolled healthcare providers. Sharing data from the Health app can lead to richer, better informed conversations with your doctor and healthcare team.

  1. On your iPhone, open the Health app.
  2. Tap the Sharing tab and then tap Share with your doctor.
  3. Follow the onscreen prompts to select which topics to share with your doctor.
  4. Tap Share.

Using their own health records system, your healthcare team can review the data you share. You can stop sharing or manage which types of health data are being shared at any time from the Sharing tab in the Health app on iPhone.

Manage what you share and view

You're in control of what you share. You can change what's being shared, stop sharing or stop receiving health data at any time. You can also update what notifications you'll receive from individuals who are sharing their data with you.
