Adagio Piano Movers

These piano movers arrived promptly and moved our piano with ease. They even told us the date of manufacture of our piano and the wood used in its construction which was very helpful in our decision to keep our piano. However, we did think that the price was steep considering the short distance of the move. On the other hand, we had no doubts about the integrity of the piano as a result of this move and we were very happy about the complete absence of any damage to our piano as well.

DUMONT PIANO RESTORATION & MOVING
5.0
Dumont was able to set up a same day appointment on a Saturday. With a two person crew, they very carefully and professionally moved the piano out from a house in San Jose within a matter of 10 minutes and secure it to their truck. They had several steps to work with in the San Jose house and handled them with ease. The piano was transported to our home in Santa Cruz area and once again, moved the piano into the house within a matter of minutes without a scratch to hard wood floors, the walls or the piano. In fact, the piano seemed to stay in tune for the most part.

BURTON & WILSON, THE PIANO CRAFTSMEN
5.0
I couldn't have asked for a better piano mover. This is a very big and heavy piano. A 3 man crew disassembled it, wrapped it up, and brought it to our home. They brought it up 2 steps using their special dolly, unwrapped and reassembled the piano. They worked as a team, very professional....make it look effortless, despite the size and weight. I scheduled with Bob, who promptly returned my voicemails, gave the best quote, and provided the earliest delivery day. Paid by CC over the phone after piano delivery and scheduled full service piano tuning, voicing, etc. for next month. Looking forward to have them come back!

DUMONT PIANO RESTORATION & MOVING
5.0
I bought a 1900's Upright Grand Piano. I looked up for piano mover's in Angie's list and called them for moving the piano. They seemed very knowledgeable about the pianos. They asked appropriate questions and were able to assess how big the piano is. They quoted a reasonable price. They agreed to move on the same day except I wasn't ready. I had it setup to move on the next Saturday. They arrived at the sellers very promptly and did a very professional and courteous job of moving the piano out. They arrived at my place and the piano was well secured in the truck and the moving truck seems well equipped. They used a professional dolly and moved with little effort. The placed the piano at the right place. Don, checked the piano to make sure everything was right. I am very impressed with the prompt, professional and courteous service they did. I would hire them again at any time without hesitation.

Piano Finders
5.0
Piano Finders is a wonderful company. They have access to many, many pianos across the country, at all price levels, and found us the perfect piano for our home. They made sure it was in excellent condition, and handled the move for us as well. They were knowledgeable, very interested in pleasing us, communicative, and professional. They have a passion for music and a long experience in their industry. I recommend them highly.

SWEET SOUND PIANO TUNING
5.0
They did great work. The estimate was correct, they promptly showed up at the scheduled time, moved the piano with no issues, identified some problems with the piano that we should address (repadding the keys, humidity damage, etc) and then followed up with all the things we needed done. They worked around my schedule, which is very hectic, but did not complain. Our piano sounds even better than before!

EXCLUSIVE PIANO MOVERS INC
5.0
They arrived on time, and had the piano into their moving truck within 15 minutes! The piano arrived on time, as arranged, at our house. Very happy with their efficiency. It's worth noting that, two days prior to this, I'd arranged with another piano moving company to move the piano. They threw in the towel after 60+ minutes of trying with their 3-man team... advising me that they would have to schedule a 4th man. They were unable to get the piano up the stairs in the first house. This is what prompted me to find another moving company. My thought was that a San Francisco based company would have more familiarity/experience dealing with tight spaces and stairs. Given the very fast move out of the first house, this seems to have been a good hunch. Great service, and the movers were very professional and easy to work with.

AAA Piano
5.0
Steve arrived right on time, was very efficient and provided excellent service in moving my elderly father's piano that we had sold using CRAIGS list. In addition to Steve's professionalism, he was also very kind to my father who looked on as he watched his beloved piano roll away on to a new home. At this point, my father could no longer keep or play the piano and Steve understood that emotional connection part of the transaction & was extra nice to my father.

GOLDEN GATE MOVING CO
4.0
The move was a bungalow/console size piano. The job was to pick up the piano from our daughter’s friend’s apartment. They wanted to donate the piano to my church. The pick up was on Jan. 24, within the friend’s acceptable time frame, which we were grateful. The piano arrived in good condition, although we couldn't compare it because we had never seen it before. Coordination for the delivery dates took some time to accomplish with many phone calls back and forth, which made it difficult to plan my schedule. With a goodly number of piano moves in my professional career, I felt the price was more than I had expected to pay, but that was not negotiable (in light of the pick up timing required, I had no competitive bids).

They were punctual even with snow on the ground and professional in handling the piano. They have a large truck with a lift and strapped the piano the sides after wrapping it with blankets. We are very happy with their service and will use them again.

Modern Piano Moving
5.0
This is the second time I used Modern Piano movers. The first time 2 years ago they took my piano from Boston to San Francisco and this time it was a shorter move from San Francisco to Santa Cruz. I would highly recommend the company. They are very professional and great at their jobs. San Francisco is not an easy city to move a piano, we had quite a number of steps and a 90 degree turn, all of which costs more. When you see what is involved in getting the piano up those steps i am not surprised at the cost! Both jobs for me went very smoothly. Although i could have hired someone more local for the short move to santa cruz I would not trust just any company with my precious piano! Modern Piano are excellent and I would not hesitate to use them again.

The crew from Paradise was great, working hard and smart to get a heavy piano up a long flight of stairs. They had a never say die attitude until they got it figured out. Price was reasonable and affordable. I’d use them again in a heart beat.

Piano Moving Near You

We were unable to find pros for your Piano Movers project in San Jose, CA

However, we may have pros in another category that can help with your project.

Even if you do plenty of dead-lifts at the gym, a piano is too big of a load to tackle on your own. But regular movers might not be the best option - there are local piano movers near you that specialize in transporting these delicate instruments so the tune and quality of sound are not impacted by the jolt of a move.

Check out these piano moving hiring tips to make sure that you end up working with the best pro near you:

1. Ask About Their Methods

Good methods are a sign of a good piano moving company.

Even if a company is properly insured, you don't want anyone getting hurt on the job, and you'll need to make sure that your prospective company has the right tools to make the job easy and pain-free. While the special dollies that piano movers use don't come cheap, if a company doesn't have these tools, you can't trust them to do the job right.

2. Compare Nearby Rates

The cost to move a piano depends on the size of the instrument and where it's going.

But piano movers shouldn't charge more than $1,000 no matter where you want your piano put. Base rates usually start at around $200, and you should compare the rates charged by a few different companies near your location before you make a final choice.

3. Check with Other Nearby Customers

If a piano moving company near you routinely nicks the lids on the instruments they move, you'll want to know.

Check out reviews online to learn what other customers think of each company you're considering.
