Maj. Gen. Michael J. Turley, a West Jordan resident, enlisted as a United States Marine in 1985 and was commissioned a U.S. Army Engineer Officer in 1997 after graduating from Army Officer Candidate School. His most recent assignment was commander, 204th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade. Prior to this assignment, he was deputy director, Joint Training and Exercises Directorate-J7 and Chief-Joint Resources and Readiness Division-J74, NORAD and U.S. Northern Command. He was also a U.S. Army War College Fellow in Residence, National Security Affairs Fellow at the Hoover Institution-Stanford University for the academic years 2016-2017.

Command Sgt. Maj. Spencer D. Nielsen began his military career in the Utah Army National Guard enlisting as a cannon-fire-direction specialist with Alpha Battery, 1st Battalion, 140th Field Artillery in Fillmore, Utah. He attended basic training and advanced individual training in 1994 at Fort Sill, Okla. His first active-duty position was as a unit training NCO for Charlie Battery, 1st Battalion 145th Field Artillery in 1998. Since then, he has served in the 65th Field Artillery Brigade; 97th Troop Command; 640th Regiment, Regional Training Institute; and UTNG Joint Forces Headquarters. He deployed twice in support of the Global War on Terrorism: Operation Noble Eagle from August 2003 through July 2004, and Operation Iraqi Freedom from June 2007 through June 2008.

CW5 Brian Searcy enlisted in the Utah Army National Guard on 20 January 1988 in Service Battery, 222 FA Bn as a Cannon Crewmember.  In February of 1992 he transferred to D Co, 142nd MI Bn and reclassified as an Interrogator.  He was appointed to Warrant Officer 1 as a Human Intelligence Collection Technician on 30 April 1999 in the 141st MI Bn. CW5 Searcy deployed with 141 MI Bn in support of OIF 1 as Interrogation Chief, Joint Interrogation Debriefing Center. On 1 June 2006 Chief Searcy was assigned as the Overseas Duty Training Officer. On 3 May 2012 he was assigned as the Force Integration Readiness Officer and in 2013 assumed responsibilities of the Mobilization Readiness Officer. On 16 June 2018 Chief Searcy was appointed as the Utah Army National Guard Command Chief Warrant Officer. Chief Searcy is a qualified Functional Area 50 and graduate from the University of Utah with a degree in Business Management.
