I am an Assistant Professor (tenure-track) at the University of Central Florida Department of Physics – Planetary Sciences Group – that studies potentially habitable worlds. I am also a member of the Martians Moons exploration (MMX) science team and a collaborator/advisor with LUVOIR and LIFE.

I develop atmospheric models (1D, 2D, 3D, climate, atmospheric..etc) to simulate the physical processes of potentially habitable planets. This includes improving habitable zone definitions to observe potentially habitable worlds and assess the habitability of solar system planets to enhance our understanding of extrasolar planetary habitability. My work represents the leading edge of the emerging field of dynamic habitability.

RECENT WORK HIGHLIGHTS:

The Mars System revealed by the Martian Moons eXploration mission

Habitability Models for Astrobiology

The influence of surface CO2 condensation on the evolution of warm and cold rocky planets orbiting Sun-like stars

Our white paper submitted to the Astro 2020 decadal survey: Habitable zone predictions and how to test them
