Two men charged with stealing commercial mower from local golf club

JACKSON COUNTY, Mississippi -- A Vancleave man and a Biloxi man are each charged with grand larceny in the theft of a $4,000 commercial mower from Gulf Hills Golf Club in Ocean Springs.

Jackson County Sheriff Mike Ezell said 51-year-old Jeffery Garbutt St. of Vancleave and 42-year-old Biloxi resident Harley Poole were both arrested Monday, with Garbutt taken into custody in Pascagoula and Poole arrested at his home in Biloxi, where deputies recovered the stolen mower.

The two suspects made their initial court apperances Tuesday afternoon, with Jackson County Judge Mark Watts setting bond for each at $50,000. Both suspects remained in the Jackson County Adult Detention Center as of midday Thursday.
