Few names in the news industry carry as much prestige as The Wall Street Journal. One of the largest and most trusted publications in the U.S., The Wall Street Journal boasts more than 1,800 journalists in 45 different countries, more than 2.2 million subscribers, and more than 40 Pulitzer Prizes.
With unrivaled editorial authority, The Wall Street Journal delivers business-focused coverage of U.S. and world news, politics, sports, arts, health, and more. Every month, The Wall Street Journal publishers release a luxury news and lifestyle magazine, WSJ. In addition to print articles, The Journal distributes stories, videos, and blogs through its desktop site and mobile apps.
Unlike many publications, The Wall Street Journal requires readers to purchase a paid subscription to access content. If you’re considering investing in a membership, check out these tips for saving on a Wall Street Journal subscription first:
1. Get a special introductory rate. The Wall Street Journal offers a special introductory rate to new subscribers. Currently, the introductory rate is 40% off the first year of a new print and digital subscription, or just $4 per month for your first year if you choose a digital WSJ subscription.
2. Go paperless. The price you pay for a monthly subscription depends on the type of package you choose. The WSJ offers two different types of subscriptions, including:
Print & Digital. This package is essentially the same as the former Classic Print package, though slightly more expensive but with access to the digital WSJ edition.
All Access Digital. The All Access Digital package includes unlimited access to WSJ.com, plus WSJ mobile and tablet apps. This is the cheapest (and most eco-friendly!) of the three options.
You can save trees and dollars by opting for the All Access Digital package. However, if you would prefer to receive print copies as well, go for the Print & Digital package that offers essentially all the same features.
3. Save with a longer subscription. The Wall Street Journal offers discounts of up to 50% to readers who commit to lengthier subscriptions. Unlike many long-term subscription publications, The WSJ lets you cancel your six- or twelve-month subscription at any time.
4. Get an education discount. Students enjoy reduced rates on Digital and Print & Digital packages. Education packages include all the features of regular subscriptions. To qualify for an education subscription, you must register and verify your status with UniDays using your .edu email address. And students qualify for this reduced price for as long as they remain students.
5. Get a corporate discount. The WSJ provides discounted corporate rates for groups of 10 employees or more. Corporate subscriptions include all the features of a Digital & Print subscription, plus full digital access to WSJ Europe and Asia editions.
6. Take advantage of your free WSJ+ membership. As a paying subscriber to The Wall Street Journal, you get a free membership to WSJ+. The premium membership includes exclusive special offers, opportunities to win vacations, and invitations to talks and unique cultural experiences. Members also receive the WSJ+ Newsletter, a weekly email with updates and offers.
7. Take advantage of the free mobile applications. WSJ hooks its subscribers up with free mobile apps for iOS and Android. The Wall Street Journal app automatically downloads issues overnight when your device is connected to WiFi and refreshes regularly throughout the day. The app allows you to save and share stories, and search articles by keyword.
8. Share articles with nonusers. As a WSJ subscriber, you can share articles with non-subscribers via the mobile app. The app generates a link that allows nonmembers to view an article for up to seven days.
9. Wait for a sale. Throughout the year, The WSJ runs special promotions with new subscriptions available for as little as $1. In the past, The Journal has celebrated New Year’s Day, Cyber Monday, Presidents Day and other major holidays throughout the year.
10. Change or cancel your subscription at any time. Though the WSJ does not accept cancellations online or via email, The Journal does allow you to call customer service to cancel any time over the phone. When you cancel a six-month or annual subscription, you’ll receive a refund prorated to the effective date of your cancellation. If you sign up for an introductory offer, keep in mind that your subscription will auto-renew to the standard price once your introductory term ends—unless you call to cancel before the start of the next billing period.

It is a Disaster! Stay Away! You will end up with High Blood Pressure and Cardiac Arrest if you subscribe! My delivery has stopped since 10/13/2021 for no reason. They couldn't figure out why I couldn't have delivery. Until this moment 12/02/2021 I still do not receive the paper. It is sad that this is happening in the 21st Century.

The WSJ SHOULD offer discounted Military subscriptions. It’s shameful that you don’t. Do you think the men and women who are protecting this country aren’t interested in your stories or want to check on their investments?

Beware of WSJ free offers. You can only cancel BY PHONE unless you live in California. They do not alert you when the paid portion begins and they will not refund you. Their documentation is in bad faith
phiaso commented on 12/6/18
Don't do it. Even if you are 1 day over your subscription and you want to cancel, they will charge you $38 and not refund you.
phiaso commented on 12/6/18
customer service is complete garbage.

@JerryRominski If you have not yet done so, it is recommended you try the following link to reach the WSJ Customer Service center: https://customercenter.wsj.com/public Once you have logged in you should be able to address your specific concerns with the merchant.

Won't subscribe until the long-term price of digital-only edition comes down... a lot... to more like $100/year. Current digital-only price is over $400/year. Perhaps they need it to subsidize the dying print editions, but I won't pay it, even if the content is superb, which it is.

I just subscribed to this offer. They said it may take 5-7 days for it to start. So, I will keep you posted. So far the experience has been very good. The offer of $1 for 2 months is legit! I will look forward to receiving WSJ, hopefully, sooner rather than later. Great offer to give it a try.

First time use...was apprehensive as don't know anything about this site, but had seen this offer before, so felt it was ligit. Emails just started appearing and did not know if a scam or not. Nor how the offers work..whether its like Groupon where you have to buy a "voucher". Now will be willing to try others.
Thales commented on 12/17/15
It really breeds mistrust of the WSJ that you won't say anywhere what the subscription rate is after your 12wk teaser expires. No way I subscribe to anything without knowing the cost up front.
sandramcandrew214 commented on 11/9/15
It was a great offer and extremely easy to use!
